[Shepherd: "Probably another hidden function of the chat group. Think about it—if a mission takes months or even years to complete, but by the time you return your whole world has moved on without you, that'd be a disaster. This feature prevents that."]
[Lazy Angel: "So that's how it works? Damn it, if I'd known I would've stayed there for months instead of rushing back!"]
[Lazy Angel: "What a loss. I even hauled back a bunch of games, and now I'm just pulling all-nighters to play through them."]
[Blizzard from Hell: "You still have school, yet you obsess over games like this. Sometimes I wonder if you really count as an angel at all."]
[Femme Fatale: "More like a fallen angel."]
[Lazy Angel: "Fallen angels are still angels, okay? Besides, it's not that easy for a real angel to actually fall. Unless you're out murdering people, a little laziness or mischief just gets you punished a bit. Usually they just dock our allowance."]
[Lazy Angel: "But since I brought back a pile of games from Saeko's world, I don't need to spend money on new ones for months. Perfect win! Hehe~"]

[Blizzard: "Same here. I got 7,000 too. But hang on—there were only nine survivors in the shelter if you count Saeko, right? With five of us, doesn't that math seem off?"]
[Old Mage: "Who cares? More points is a good thing. I'm just deciding how to spend them."]
Rosen checked his own log. Same deal.
Aside from Saeko, the four of them had split the main quest reward of 20,000. Plus the shelter bonus: 1,000 points per survivor. Nine total, counting Saeko.
As for the people Gabriel rescued later from the school, like Megumi Sakurai, they apparently didn't count.
But Rosen quickly figured out where the "extra" 1,000 points came from.
[Shepherd: "You all forgot about the little dog that was with Alice, didn't you?"]
[Blizzard: "…Wait, dogs count?"]
[Lazy Angel: "Dog: Do I count as a survivor or not? Do I?!"]
[Old Mage: "I've decided—I'm spending my points on the lottery."]
[Lazy Angel: "Bold move! Frieren—uh, I mean Old Mage—you already made up your mind?"]
[Old Mage: "Yeah. I checked the shop, and nothing there really appeals to me. Strengthening functions don't help much either—I'm already strong enough. So lottery it is."]
[Old Mage: "Besides, isn't it just like opening a treasure chest? You never know what's inside, and that thrill is half the fun."]
[Blizzard: "That's true, but I'd still be cautious."]
[Femme Fatale: "Right. Strengthening costs more, but it's guaranteed. The lottery can give you incredible power or complete trash—it's pure gamble."]
And gambling could ruin you in a heartbeat.
But Frieren was set on it. For her, drawing lots was like opening treasure chests—nothing in the world could stop her.
