Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: Magician Kaecilius

Leon was in a period of calm, focusing on his cultivation, accumulating the power of his Microcosm, and waiting for a meeting that he knew might be coming.

The battle in the mountains outside the town had also attracted the attention of the local authorities. The police sent a team to investigate the scene. They were met with a landscape of utter devastation, clearly caused by some powerful force. Since no evidence of explosives or other conventional weapons was found, they concluded that an "evil" mutant was to blame. After reporting the incident, they remained on guard against a potential mutant invasion. But after a period of unease, peace returned to the town, as nothing else happened.

For Leon, however, there was an unexpected surprise. While checking his Fantasy Crystal during his practice, he was overjoyed to discover that golden liquid had reappeared in the empty space inside it. There were only a few drops, but it was a monumental discovery, as no new liquid had appeared since he had evaporated all of it years ago.

Wearing a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, Leon sat in a chair in his backyard garden, with his sleeping sister and brother in his arms, deep in thought. At his feet, his two large dogs lay with their eyes closed, their tails occasionally thumping the ground, looking completely at ease.

"Is it because I broke through to the Microcosm? No, that doesn't seem right," he mused. "Could it be that my contact with Mephisto, a key figure in this universe, changed my destiny and allowed me to absorb some kind of power? That's a possibility."

"Maybe it was because I destroyed Mephisto's soul projection, and it's related to the soul?"

"Or is it something else entirely?"

Leon's mind raced through one theory after another, eventually settling on two main possibilities. The first was simple and could be tested by contacting a few key people. The second was more complex.

"I'll have to test them one by one," he decided. The Fantasy Crystal was crucial to his future growth, and he needed to understand why the golden liquid had reappeared.

"Sip Town..." Leon's thoughts turned to the town his father had mentioned. He could sense that the evil power from that direction was growing stronger, with a spreading influence. Whether it was to prevent the threat from reaching his own town or to test his theory, he knew he had to go there now.

Sip Town

A thick, dense fog blanketed the town, and fierce, red lightning raged within it. A battle was taking place. As the lightning struck ugly, monstrous creatures, more terrifying monsters rushed in to take their place.

"Santa, watch out behind you!"

"There are more monsters over there! Why are there so many?"

"Be careful! Magic with too little power is useless against these things!"

A series of frantic shouts erupted. A dozen magicians were working together, constantly casting spells to repel the monstrous creatures charging from every direction. The houses around them had already been reduced to rubble from the fighting and the monsters' trampling. From the few houses still standing, the faint sound of weeping could be heard.

Among the magicians, Kaecilius was at the forefront, unleashing red lightning and casting his Bossat Thunder magic, which shattered several monsters at once. He took the opportunity to scan the other magicians fighting in the distance and the seemingly endless hordes of monsters in the fog. His face was grim.

Not far away, a middle-aged white magician used his golden energy to pierce through a giant monster that was trying to attack him. Seeing that the other magicians were struggling, he quickly formed a hand seal, opened his arms, and cast a large-scale defensive spell: the Seraphim Shield.

A huge magic shield with golden energy patterns formed like a bowl, covering all the magicians and blocking the monsters' attacks. Seeing this, the other magicians immediately focused their energy to support the shield.

Taking advantage of the brief respite, the middle-aged magician shouted to Kaecilius, "Something is wrong, Kaecilius. These monsters are increasing in number. Is there a dimensional rift in this town?"

A rift was a crack in the barrier between this universe and other dimensions. It could be man-made or a rare natural occurrence. Man-made rifts were often created by evil gods or monsters who sought to invade Earth by force. This was a common phenomenon, but the three magician Sanctums on Earth had created a massive barrier that greatly reduced such invasions. Was a rift open here?

"Possibly. But this fog is interfering with us. It's difficult to find the rift and repair it. We can't do it alone; we need backup," Kaecilius calmly replied.

"I can feel the residents of this town disappearing one by one, Kaecilius. We have to hurry..." the white magician pleaded. More and more monsters were surrounding the shield, and they couldn't hold on much longer, let alone repair a rift.

But before he could finish, an inhuman, terrifying roar shook the entire town. The terrified residents hiding in their homes screamed in fear and despair.

BOOM!

A series of heavy, colossal footsteps made the ground shake violently. All the magicians looked in that direction, their eyes widening in horror at what they saw.
