Chapter 10 - Chapter 9: Theocracy

Leon walked into the living room, grabbed a can of Coke from the fridge, opened it, and took a sip. He saw his father being lectured by his mother and a slight smirk appeared on his face.

"Ha! I don't know who was begging me so much. I won't take you to fly around next time."

His father, Li Xiang, was immediately speechless, his expression bitter. His mother glared at Leon, who was gloating.

"Leon!"

"Okay, okay, my bad," Leon said, raising his hands in surrender. He then turned and headed upstairs to his room. He didn't want to watch his parents' displays of affection; a child was too young for that.

Back in his room, Leon sat at his computer desk, placing his can of Coke down. He typed a few keys, and his blog appeared on the screen, filled with what people had seen and heard. He quickly skimmed through the posts, reading ten lines at a glance and absorbing all the information.

After turning off the computer and finishing his Coke, he lay on the bed and focused on the Fantasy Crystal. The thin layer of golden liquid now flowing inside it was what he had harvested in Sip Town.

But contrary to his initial theory, the golden liquid hadn't appeared while he was fighting monsters or interacting with the magicians. Instead, he noticed that after he and the magicians were seen fighting by some residents, a fragmented power had appeared, gathering from the residents' invisible bodies and then suddenly disappearing into the crystal. This was when the golden liquid had increased.

Leon knew this invisible power was the key. Was it faith? Or the accumulation of intense emotions? Leon thought the former was more likely. The golden liquid in the crystal was still slowly accumulating, but in very small amounts.

"Is this thing forcing me to reveal myself? To develop believers?" Leon fell into deep thought. It seemed his plan needed to change.

Revealing his power was the simplest approach, but it was full of uncertainties. Due to the presence of the Sorcerer Supreme and the magical Sanctums, invasions on Earth were rare. Even if he were to reveal his power in a certain area and defeat invaders, the news and public opinion would be quickly suppressed.

He could go the villain's route and create a world-famous terrorist incident to display his power, like Magneto. But he immediately dismissed this idea; he wouldn't even consider it. It wasn't the best or most cost-effective option.

A better way would be to directly occupy a small country to develop and cultivate believers and harvest their faith. Leon wasn't planning to take things slowly. If he wanted to create believers, there was no simpler way than to directly take over a country. A small country with a single city was more suitable for cultivating and developing believers than a large country with a spread-out population. He could harvest faith from a small country first, accumulate golden liquid, and then find and train a group of warriors.

His ultimate goal wasn't just Earth. The planet's population was relatively small. He wanted to become a god himself, and to do that, he needed a group of powerful subordinates. To this end, he would create a kingdom and gradually expand to other galaxies, races, and even other dimensions.

He immediately considered two locations: Kosovia and Madripoor. The former was an Eastern European country with a population of only two million, but its main city was controlled by HYDRA. The latter was located in Southeast Asia, southwest of Singapore, and south of the Strait of Malacca in Indonesia. It was a lawless haven for smugglers, secret societies, and warlords, and also a refuge for pirates. It was also under HYDRA's control. After HYDRA was seemingly destroyed after World War II, a large number of remnants had secretly licked their wounds and continued to grow.

For the current Leon, HYDRA was not even worth mentioning. These two locations were called countries, but they were essentially just cities. Madripoor's population was currently only four million.

"A theocracy..." Leon smiled faintly. "Since I'm destined to stir things up, I might as well go big."

His pupils were now faintly tinged with a light blue glow.

A mountain range in Siberia was covered in heavy snow. On the edge of one of the cliffs, a figure suddenly tore through the sky. Just as he was about to hit the ground, he descended as lightly as a feather.

"Found it," he said.

At the edge of the cliff was a large rock with an iron door rusted and covered in frost. Leon raised his head slightly, revealing his handsome face. Even though the temperature was freezing, he was only wearing a black leather jacket, a white T-shirt, and jeans, completely unaffected by the cold.

He walked toward the iron gate. Suddenly, a ring of sparks appeared in front of him. The other side was pitch black, which was actually the other side of the iron door. Leon stepped through without stopping, and the sparkling ring disappeared behind him. This was the teleportation magic used by magicians.

As he entered the base, Leon was very satisfied with this magic. Magic was a form of idealistic power, but it had many unique features, especially its ability to teleport, even across dimensional barriers. Teleportation magic required an anchor point, but as long as that point existed, you could open a portal and teleport, no matter how great the distance.

For Leon's current Sixth Sense level, this teleportation magic was incredibly practical. He was able to learn it by reading Kaecilius's memory of learning magic in Sip Town. The source of the magic was the magic dimension, but since Leon had his own inner power, he could omit the process of borrowing from the magic dimension and open the portal directly using his own Microcosm.

In fact, once a Saint reached the Sixth Sense, they could gain numerous superhuman abilities, such as elemental manipulation, future prediction, atomic control, flight, psychokinesis, telepathy, mind control, and enhanced intuition. As the Sixth Sense grew stronger, the number of abilities increased. Their life level would gradually approach the Seventh Sense, and they could even gain thousands of abilities, because at that point, their Microcosm was so vast that it could withstand the energy consumption. This is why Saints were often called all-around warriors.

Of course, in general, a Saint's fighting style would be more direct and concise. While they might focus on a few key abilities, they rarely used them directly in combat, as it simply wasn't necessary at that level.
