Saturday afternoon found Miranda comfortably settled in Nolan's lounge room, deeply absorbed in her book. The tranquility of the moment was interrupted by the doorbell's chime. Glancing around for Nolan, she spotted him through the glass doors leading to the terrace. He was still engaged in what appeared to be an important phone call, gesturing animatedly as he spoke.
With a slight shrug, Miranda set her book aside and made her way to the entrance. Peering through the side glass panel, she was greeted by the sight of an undeniably handsome man standing on the doorstep. He was impressively tall—even taller than Nolan—with luxuriant midnight black hair and penetrating dark eyes that seemed to take in everything at once.
This must be the university friend Nolan mentioned, she thought as she turned the lock and opened the door.
