Nolan took Miranda's hand, leading her towards the master bedroom—a part of the house she'd never explored before.
"Maybe I should unpack my things first," she suggested, hesitating at the threshold of his private sanctuary.
Nolan's lips curved into a slight smile. "Molly had the day staff handle that already. Everything's been pressed and hung up before we arrived." He pulled her into the room, backing her against the wall and pinning her there with his body. The firm press of his chest against hers made her heart hammer wildly.
Miranda's eyes darted around, taking in the dimly lit space. The room was spacious, like the rest of the house, with only a bedside lamp casting a warm glow. The super king bed made perfect sense for a man of Nolan's height. She felt a small rush of relief seeing cotton sheets rather than satin—something about satin sheets had always seemed too deliberately seductive.
