There was no deafening boom only a teeth-grinding crack.
Saitama's fist pierced straight through the bone shield, one that could have withstood rocket fire, without the slightest resistance. The remaining force didn't fade at all, continuing forward as it slammed into the undead leader's chest.
The undead leader's charging motion froze instantly.
It lowered its head, staring at the huge hole in its chest, then looked back up at Saitama. The soul-flame inside its eye sockets flickered a few times, as if trying to say something… then went out completely.
Its entire body collapsed with a clattering rattle, scattering across the ground into a pile of dry bones that would never assemble again.
Blade walked over, holstering the gun that was still smoking. He looked at the bone fragments littering the ground, then at Saitama, and finally shook his head helplessly.
"Looks like fists work better than silver for dealing with these things."
Saitama dusted off his hands. "They're pretty brittle."
After saying that, he simply kept walking.
Blade watched his back, thoughtful.
At the industrial district on the outskirts of the city, a major leak accident occurred in a laboratory belonging to a biotech company. An unfinished genetic growth agent was knocked over, and the vaporized gas was inhaled by an ape used for experiments.
The next second, a terrifying mutation erupted.
The ape's body expanded like an inflating balloon—muscles bulging, bones surging larger, and its fur turning as hard as steel needles. In just a few dozen seconds, it became a monstrous giant ape over fifty meters tall, eyes blazing red, overflowing with rage and violence.
It burst through the lab with ease, stomped into the industrial zone, and roared as it vented its strength—smashing factories, oil tanks, and cranes like toys, hurling them around and triggering chain explosions.
The military and emergency-response Avengers tried to contain it, but conventional weapons did nothing.
In the end, Hulk was air-dropped into the battlefield.
"HULK!!!"
The green berserker roared, leaped high, and slammed into the giant ape head-on. Two beasts famed for raw strength collided and began the most primitive, most ferocious brawl.
Each fist collision sent shockwaves like explosions, shattering every remaining window in the area. The ground was stomped into crater after crater. They ripped up heavy objects to throw, locked up in grapples, and rolled through the ruins—anything in their path getting crushed into dust…
For a time, neither could gain the upper hand.
Saitama had just bought a limited-time special on beef at a butcher shop at the edge of the industrial district. Carrying his shopping bag, he was in a pretty good mood on the way home—until the massive tremors and roaring caught his attention.
He walked up to a higher spot and saw two gigantic beasts trading blows wildly, the area around them a stretch of blazing wreckage.
"Oh? Hulk's fighting a big monkey?" Saitama watched the scene. "Looks like he's having fun."
Just then, the giant ape seemed to get even more enraged after taking a punch from Hulk. It casually grabbed a fully loaded fuel tanker truck nearby and hurled it at Hulk like a thrown rock!
Hulk roared back—no dodging, no retreat. He stepped forward and caught the flying tanker with both enormous hands. The impact made the ground beneath his feet crack again.
The violence in Hulk's eyes flared too. He braced his waist, bellowed, and threw the fuel tanker straight back the way it came!
The tanker tore through the air with a shriek of wind, flying back toward the giant ape.
Both beasts looked completely red-eyed now—charging forward again at the same time, ready to slam into each other with an even more brutal collision!
