Chapter 785 - Chapter 785

Saitama shook his hand, like he'd only crushed a lightbulb just now. Then he turned to Wanda.

"Hi. Do you know anywhere around here that fixes TVs cheap?"

Wanda: "...?"

At a construction site, a huge pit was accidentally dug open by an excavator, revealing an ancient tomb long forgotten by history. When the first ray of sunlight shone into the depths of the tomb and landed on a gorgeous stone coffin carved full of cursed runes, disaster struck.

Thick black smoke carrying the stench of rot surged out of the coffin. Along with it came the hair-raising sound of bones grinding and a silent roar. One after another, skeletal warriors wearing ancient armor and carrying rusted swords and blades crawled up from the tomb. Ghostly blue soul-fire burned in their eye sockets, filled with endless hatred toward the living.

Normal weapons did almost nothing. Bullets passed straight through their bones, only making them pause for a moment, never dealing a fatal blow. Only intense sunlight could temporarily drive them back, forcing them to retreat into the shadows. But as sunset approached, their rampage grew more and more violent.

A professional vampire hunter Blade, was also brought in to handle the supernatural incident. He wielded a silver-coated katana and fired customized silver bullets at the undead warriors. When the silver rounds hit, they burst into small flashes of holy light, effectively making the undead stiffen up, sometimes even knocking them apart. But they could quickly reassemble unless they were blasted completely into fragments.

"These things… are a real pain!" Blade muttered as he moved nimbly and swapped magazines, but the number of undead seemed endless.

Saitama happened to be passing along the road beside the site. Hearing fighting and workers screaming, he leaned in curiously to take a look—just in time to see an undead warrior raising a rusty iron sword, chasing down a terrified worker.

Saitama bent down and picked up a thick steel rebar rod used for reinforcement. Then, at the undead warrior charging over, he casually swung it sideways.

The rebar cut through the air and struck the undead at the waist.

Crack—!!

Rattle!!

There was no resistance at all. That hard skeleton—able to withstand handgun bullets—was instantly smashed into countless shards and bone dust by the sheer physical force of the blow, spraying everywhere. The rusty sword clanged to the ground.

The commotion drew the attention of the other undead. They all turned their heads, blue soul-fire locking onto Saitama, and surged toward him like a tide.

Saitama started swinging the rebar like he was playing baseball, smashing one undead warrior after another into pieces. In his hands, the rebar performed far beyond its own weight. Every swing cleared out an area, sending broken bones flying.

Soon, most of the undead were cleaned up.

Then, from the largest stone coffin, the final undead crawled out—far taller than the others. It wore finer black armor and carried a massive bone shield stitched together from countless human bones. It let out a silent roar, raised the shield, and charged at Saitama with heavy, terrifying momentum.

Saitama looked at the charging undead leader, then at the rebar in his hand, now slightly bent. He tossed it aside.

Facing the charge, he stepped forward and threw a simple straight punch at that thick-looking bone shield.
