The energy life-form had no fixed shape like a rolling ball of lightning, packed with extremely violent power. It wandered through the neighborhood on instinct, crazily absorbing all electricity power-grid current, car batteries, even the energy in phones was drained in an instant. And anything physical that touched its surface would be vaporized by the ultra-high temperature, disappearing without a trace. As it absorbed more and more energy, it kept swelling larger and larger, its threat level skyrocketing.
Scarlet Witch arrived at the scene, trying to use chaos magic to form an energy barrier—trap the dangerous energy form inside and compress it. Red magical power wrapped around it like a cocoon.
But this energy form's properties were extremely special. It seemed able to assimilate, even pierce, pure energy structures. Not only was it not trapped it actually started absorbing Wanda's chaos magic. The red magic was swallowed rapidly and fused into its body, making it balloon again. Its light became even more blinding and unstable, and the energy shockwaves it gave off caused the glass on nearby skyscrapers to explode one after another!
"No… my magic will get absorbed!" Wanda hurriedly pulled her power back, her face pale, momentarily at a loss. The energy form grew even larger, rolling toward a more densely populated area.
Meanwhile, inside an appliance repair shop in the neighborhood, Saitama was fiddling with his old cheap TV, looking troubled. "That's weird… I only smacked it twice. Why is it completely dead now?" He tried to fix it himself, but it seemed like he only made things worse.
Hearing the explosions, screams, and that buzzing energy hum outside, Saitama set down the screwdriver and stepped out of the shop in curiosity.
The energy form, now swollen to nearly three stories tall rolled right up in front of him. It seemed to sense the faint bioelectricity in Saitama's body and instinctively surged in, trying to absorb and vaporize him.
Saitama stared at this huge flashing light ball blocking the doorway, making a harsh, grating noise. Then he glanced back at his broken TV. His mood soured a little. He raised his palm and pressed it directly onto the energy form's surface.
The energy form tried to absorb the energy in his hand, only to find it was like facing a bottomless abyss it couldn't draw even a shred. Worse, Saitama's palm seemed like an absolute forbidden zone of energy; the energy he touched instantly became sluggish and chaotic.
The energy form seemed to feel intense pain and fear, letting out an extremely sharp, high-frequency shriek that felt like it could tear at the soul. Its light flickered wildly as it struggled to break free.
Saitama merely frowned slightly. "Too noisy."
Then, the fingers of the hand pressed to its surface suddenly tightened—grip!
The instant he clenched, that massive energy form—capable of vaporizing steel and absorbing magic—collapsed like a punctured balloon, as if an invisible hand had forcibly kneaded and compressed it. Its shriek cut off abruptly. The blinding light rapidly dimmed and shrank at a speed visible to the naked eye, until it completely went out… and vanished.
As if it had never existed.
Only the wrecked street and damaged vehicles around them proved the crisis had just happened.
Scarlet Witch stared at the scene in disbelief. She drew in the restless chaos magic around her and slowly descended, walking up beside Saitama. She looked at the spot where the energy form disappeared, then at Saitama's perfectly ordinary hand, and murmured, "Its energy structure… was unbelievably complex and unstable… and it was… crushed… with bare hands?"
