Bang! BOOM!
First came the dull thud of Saitama's fist punching through its defenses—then the explosive roar of the engine being forcibly destroyed by overwhelming force. Black smoke and flames burst out from the rupture (though the creature's own materials quickly smothered them).
The monster's movements abruptly stalled. The energy flow throughout its body fell into brief chaos and interruption, and its constant absorbing of nearby debris stopped completely.
"Now!" Saitama seized the opening. He reached out with both hands, grabbed the thickest "neck" structure—twisted rebar and coiled cables knotted together—then yanked with explosive strength!
CRACK! KRRRNNG!!
A teeth-grinding screech of metal snapping and concrete bursting rang out. It was as if the creature had its most crucial internal framework ripped away. Its entire structure lost cohesion instantly, collapsing with a clattering avalanche into a pile of lifeless construction debris and metal parts—forming a small mound in the middle of the street.
"Done! Thanks, Saitama!" Spider-Man let out a long breath and immediately fired webs, launching special net-like gear—Flag Nets—to bind and secure the bigger rolling pieces that could've caused secondary damage.
Saitama nodded and patted the nonexistent dust off his hands.
Just when he thought it was over, his eyes caught something in the distance—several blocks away—another plume of black smoke rising into the sky, mixed with that same familiar flash of green energy.
"There's more over there?" he pointed.
In the direction he indicated, the smoke grew thicker, accompanied by heavy collapse sounds and people's panicked cries. He moved again—crossing multiple streets in a few quick bounds. Spider-Man followed close behind, swinging between buildings with his webs.
When they arrived, they found a massive sinkhole torn open in the middle of the street. The asphalt and soil at the edges were still caving in. From deep within the hole, a thick stench of sewage and rust hit them head-on.
And from far below, something was surging upward like a geyser.
A slick monster made entirely of pitch-black sludge, rotting refuse, shattered ceramic pipes, and rusted metal shards was bubbling up from the depths of the sewer.
Its shape shifted constantly—one moment it resembled huge tentacles, the next a rolling wave of filth. Wherever it moved, the ground structure was rapidly corroded and broken down, the collapse spreading wider and wider, seriously threatening the stability of nearby buildings.
"Careful! Its main body is sludge and organic waste mixed with pipe fragments!" A low, steady voice came from the side.
Daredevil stood in a relatively safe spot, leaning on his cane. His head tilted slightly as if listening. With hearing far beyond normal, he could "see" the monster's structure and movement.
"It's afraid of dryness and high-speed water flow! And its core vibration… it's hidden in the lowest pipe!"
Right then, the sludge monster suddenly shot out a massive tentacle of sticky muck, slamming toward the police and firefighters who were evacuating civilians along the sinkhole's edge—while simultaneously spewing out a huge blast of foul, highly corrosive sludge!
Saitama reached the edge just in time. He sidestepped the spray, swept his gaze across the scene, and noticed a nearby fire hydrant—knocked crooked, but still dripping water.
He didn't punch the monster.
Instead, he drove a fist straight into the hydrant's base.
