Loose construction debris scattered around the area even the metal trash can nearby and a broken fire hydrant—seemed to get yanked toward the monster like iron to a magnet. In an instant, everything flew in to patch the damage, and it repaired itself in the blink of an eye. Its body even looked like it had grown another size larger.
"See?! That's exactly what it does!" Spider-Man shouted while continuously firing webs to interfere with the monster's movements and rescuing trapped civilians at the same time.
"Oh?" Saitama raised an eyebrow slightly, as if he was finally a little interested. "I see."
He moved again.
His body dragged out an afterimage as he appeared right in front of the monster. Both fists lashed out like a hurricane of rain!
Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!
Every punch shattered part of the monster's body into flying fragments. But the speed it absorbed nearby material and rebuilt itself was absurdly fast—often the moment a chunk was smashed away, new debris had already rushed in to replace it.
Saitama's punching speed kept climbing, and the monster's rebuilding speed was forced up to its absolute limit. The street felt like it had turned into a storm made of punching winds and swirling wreckage. Saitama looked like he was testing something—he still wasn't using the kind of strength that would completely erase it in one blow.
"Taking it apart is a bit more annoying than the one on the Moon," he muttered while throwing punches, watching the energy flow as it reassembled and searching for where its "core" might be.
Under Saitama's near-infinite barrage, the monster's absorption and rebuilding finally hit a critical threshold. A violent surge of energy erupted from it, and it suddenly stabbed a "tentacle" made of countless metal parts into the wreckage of an abandoned bus nearby.
In the next instant, the entire bus seemed to melt.
It was swallowed and absorbed whole.
The monster's size exploded upward, instantly reaching the height of a five-story building—far larger and more grotesque than before. It swung a heavy arm formed from the bus chassis and engine, smashing down with terrifying force.
"Okay, so it can even order delivery." Spider-Man couldn't help joking as he dodged the spraying rubble with agile flips.
Facing the suddenly gigantic monster, Saitama still didn't retreat.
His figure flickered and zipped through the shadow of that massive body—tiny as a butterfly—but every punch carried thunderous power.
And now his fists stopped blindly striking the toughest places.
Instead, they became like a surgeon's scalpel, landing with precision on one critical point after another:
One punch shattered the bus wheel it had just absorbed before it fully fused, throwing its lower body off-balance and making the huge frame sway hard.
One punch hammered the knee joint it tried to bend—built from rebar and bearings—snapping the joint parts apart and blasting them away, leaving one leg unable to bend and its movements instantly clumsy and awkward.
One punch struck the area made from shattered bus-window glass. The shockwave pulverized all the sharp shards into finer, harmless dust, preventing them from spraying out and injuring trapped civilians—or Spider-Man as he worked rescue.
"…Doing it like this is way too slow." While moving at high speed, Saitama's sharp gaze swept across the monster's constantly writhing, shifting body. He noticed an area slightly below the chest where the energy fluctuations were unusually concentrated—and faintly, the rumble of an engine could be heard.
That was clearly the bus engine it had just absorbed, seemingly being used as a temporary energy source… and a core.
Locking onto the target, Saitama blurred, slipped past a heavy slam, and instantly dashed right up to the monster's chest. His right fist drew back, power gathering—then, with no resistance at all, it drove straight into that area, piercing deep and precisely striking the still-running engine!
