Sometimes he lowered his head to avoid the surging poison, the purple liquid sizzling as it ate smoking pits into the ground behind him. When the monster tried to ram him, he used his speed advantage to slip around to its flank or rear in an instant, throwing punches into its joints, waist, and abdomen.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The dull impacts rang out without end.
Every punch Saitama threw carried terrifying power—enough to split mountains and shatter stone. The monster's massive body trembled from the blows, sparks bursting off its scales as clear, concave fist marks formed on the armor.
The beast roared in pain, attacking even more frantically, but no matter what it did, it still couldn't truly touch Saitama at all.
And yet, the core problem remained.
Even though Saitama's fists could stagger it and make it howl, he still couldn't break through that damned layer of scales!
The defense was absurd, and it even seemed to possess an extremely strong energy absorption or dispersion trait, dissolving as much of Saitama's force as possible.
"This can't go on!" Hawkeye hid behind a broken pillar, watching with anxious fury. Saitama looked completely at ease, but the monster's stamina seemed endless, and its destructive power was enormous—the ruin could collapse at any time.
Worse, that corrosive poison was a lethal threat to the agents. One mistake and there would be casualties.
Then Saitama's voice suddenly came through the comm earpiece—so calm it didn't even sound like he was fighting for his life.
"Hawkeye! Listen to my command. This big guy's hide is too thick—we need to find a weak point. Don't just sit there. Use the terrain. See those pillars and the altar that haven't collapsed yet? Use the special ropes. Trip it, restrain it—limit its movement! Even drawing its attention is fine!"
Hawkeye understood instantly.
"Copy! Everyone! Team B, suppressive fire—keep it distracted! Team A, with me. Set up tripline traps. Target its lower-limb joints!"
The agents moved at once.
One group used the remaining pillars and the altar as cover, continuing to harass the monster with assault rifles and grenade launchers. (It barely did anything, but it created noise and flashes, pulling some of the monster's focus.)
The other group, led by Hawkeye, quickly pulled high-strength nano-alloy ropes from their tactical packs. Using the crisscrossing broken columns and shattered walls inside the hall, they began setting up simple but effective trip-lines and lasso traps.
The monster grew increasingly irritable under the constant harassment—especially with Saitama glued to it like a curse, hammering it from close range. It whipped around and spat a huge mouthful of poison at the densest firing position!
"Scatter!" Hawkeye shouted.
The agents rolled away with practiced precision. The poison drenched the cover, eating into it with furious sizzling.
At the instant after the monster spat—when its old force had just gone and its new force hadn't yet risen—
A sharp light flashed in Saitama's eyes.
He caught it.
Right in the center of the monster's chest—beneath the largest, thickest scale—there seemed to be a split-second… rift?
A tiny, incredibly faint energy fluctuation leaked out through that rift.
"An opening."
Saitama didn't hesitate.
The ground beneath his feet exploded. His body became an afterimage as he shot straight for the monster's chest. His right fist clenched tight—this time, it wasn't a testing "Normal Punch."
He gathered greater power.
"Serious Series—!"
"—Serious Punch!"
With Saitama's low voice, that fist—packed with stronger force—shot forward like a cannon round, tearing through the air with a piercing shriek as it slammed dead-center into the spot where the rift had just appeared in the monster's chest scale!
