Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29: THE PROMISE TO NEVER LEAVE

That fat insect was moving toward Zyric at that moment.

"No, no, stay away from me," Zyric said, scared of the fat insect.

Zyric used to find the fat insect cute, but the fierceness the fat insect had shown now was extremely terrifying, truly very terrifying.

Zyric now wanted to stay away from it, so he took two or three steps back, but the fat insect immediately jumped onto Zyric's hands and started licking them.

Zyric watched it silently for quite a while, scared. Then, all of a sudden, the fat insect turned into a strange blue light and vanished from his hands.

"What... what was that?" Zyric said.

The next moment, Zyric's gaze fell on his sister, who was slowly regaining consciousness. "Diana!" Zyric said to his sister, but she was not fully conscious yet.

"Zyric, run away," was all his sister kept muttering.

Zyric flew through the woods into the city. Fortunately, he did not find any beasts on his way.

Zyric emerged from the forest, where a few guards were standing. Seeing Zyric appear like that, they were startled.

"Stop! Who are you? You're just a kid... what were you doing in the forest?" the guards said to Zyric.

"Dr. Diana?" the guards said, seeing Zyric carrying Dr. Diana.

"Hey! Quickly call someone, quickly," Zyric said to the guards.

Seeing that the matter was serious, the guards blew a strange whistle and triggered an emergency alert. Soon, many vehicles arrived there, and one or two of them belonged to doctors. As soon as Dr. Edwin, Dr. Wade, and everyone else saw Diana, they immediately admitted her.

In this way, Diana reached a safe zone. At that time, Zyric was at the hospital, constantly worrying about his sister.

A doctor came out, and that doctor was none other than Dr. Hazel.

"Zyric!" After saying just that, Dr. Hazel hugged Zyric. "I missed you a lot, truly. Where had you gone?" Dr. Hazel asked.

"I'll tell you, I mean..." After saying this much, Zyric only remembered the fat insect incident, and after thinking everything over, he remained silent.

"No, no," said Zyric. "I should tell them nothing." Then he said, "I only wanted to be by myself, so I went."

Dr. Hazel lightly tapped his head. "Who goes away like that, huh? And you didn't even try to meet anyone--nothing. You even dropped out of school. How will you become a monster tamer now?" Dr. Hazel said to Zyric.

But she was noticing something about Zyric.

"Strange... you seem a bit stronger somehow. Why is that?" Dr. Hazel asked Zyric.

"I don't know either," Zyric said to Dr. Hazel.

Just then, Dr. Edwin came there and looked at Zyric.

"You, when... ah, never mind. Come with me," Dr. Edwin said, calling Zyric to follow him.

Following Dr. Edwin, Zyric reached a strange room where there was a Fuzan Vault level testing machine.

"Woah, the Fuzan Vault level testing machine! I've only ever seen this in books. Monster tamers put their hands on it to check their power, right?" Zyric said.

"Not just monster tamers. Anyone who has a Fuzan Vault can put their hand on it," Dr. Edwin said to Zyric.

"I don't have a Fuzan Vault. What will I--" Saying this much, Zyric jokingly placed his hand on the Fuzan Vault level testing machine.

"Fuzan Vault: Classic, Level Two," a voice echoed, and everyone looked extremely shocked.

"Zyric, when did you generate a Fuzan Vault?" Dr. Hazel asked in astonishment, and the other doctors also looked surprised.

"I... I don't know. I was just trying to save my sister... and there... I... with me..." After saying this much, Zyric told them many things, but in an incomplete manner.

"I see. Anyway, your sister will regain consciousness soon. Go to her. She is going to be very glad to see you. I had never seen you till to-day, but she told me about you. This is the first time I'm seeing you. Go meet your sister," Dr. Edwin said to Zyric.

Zyric nodded his head and started to leave from there.

"By the way, what happened to that divine stone? Did you find it or not?" Dr. Edwin asked Dr. Wade.

"It's been so many years, where will we find it now? When we found that black tree in the forest, we thought it might be connected to it, so we went there, but we found nothing. It was just an electrically struck tree," Dr. Wade said to Dr. Edwin.

Zyric listened to their conversation with mild curiosity as he slowly walked away. When he saw that they had finished talking about the divine stone, Zyric went into his sister's room, where she had been admitted.

Zyric went to his sister and held her hands in his. "Yeah, get well soon," Zyric said with a smile.

The next moment, Diana's eyes began to open, and her gaze fell on Zyric. She tried to say something, but seeing Zyric sitting so close to her and calling her name so happily, tears came to her eyes.

After hearing him talk to her, she cried.

"Okay, hey, now don't cry, please. Otherwise, I'll leave from here." He said this and Diana made efforts to wipe her tears but she was unable. Zyric comforted her and brushed away her tears.

"Rest for today. The doctor said that you will only be able to do something by tomorrow morning, and don't try to speak," Zyric said to his sister.

Zyric sat beside her silently, holding her hand, determined that this time he would never leave his sister again, no matter what.
