Mid transit to the Void Junction, outer Origin System, Tenno quarters aboard the Orbiter:
"Operator, we've nearly reached our destination, I advise to connect to your somatic Link and get ready for Combat"
I heard through the Comms as I sat in the Living area of my Orbiter, enjoying some of my scarce free time. "Shure Ordis, you can start the calibration already, will be there in a second" I said as I stood up and went over to the Transverence room, while checking the Mission parameters on my holopad.
"We've found something big this time Operator" Ordis stated from the screen, projecting the surroundings we were about to sling into, before he started to explain the details.
"The Corpus have seemingly found something of major interest, enough to accumulate an enormous fleet in the Void around, what seems to be a sentient Murex wreckage, which is slowly sinking into the Void"
I thought about it for a moment, analyzing the schematics on my holopad, then came to a conclusion.
"Whatever they've got there, can't be good for the rest of the SOL system. I've got to take a look, make the Liset ready, we're going in"
I ordered as I stepped into my Operator Chair and the Somatic Link closed around me, getting ready for activation.
The Void Junction, outer Origin System, fleet command onboard the flagship Vespera Invictus:
Nef Anyo stood at the observation deck, watching the Void ripple beyond his sight, as it swallowed the rest of the ship they just scavenged.
The storm around him didn't seem to bother though, as it still stretched on forever, pulsing slowly.
He turned away, and took the lift downwards, to again step onto another observation deck, this time within the hull, analyzing their spoils of war from the Sentient ship stemming from the Old War.
A shimmering fold-engine, suspended in air by tractor beams pulsing in rhythm.
Each beat bending the light around its ball like structure into unnatural spirals, while accentuating the golden Orokin Tech inside it, which glanced occasionally through the light distortions.
"Activate the containment shell," Alad V ordered next to him, commanding the technician's down at the docks.
"We'll begin the ignition sequence."
The Technicians hesitated as Warning sigils flared across their holo-panels but then still started the process.
After some time the Chief Technician came running up to them with his concerns
"The Void compression is climbing past stable levels. Junction flux at one hundred and forty percent."
Alad V didn't even give him a glance as he answered, with a nearly bored tone in his voice "Divert surplus through adaptive dampeners."
Nef Anyo on the other hand turned and furiously started down at the technician "Proceed. Every moment of delay costs us an unimaginable fortune, not even thinking about what would happen if the other Board Members found out about this."
The technician shuddered and started running again in panic, this time towards the consoles though, as the drive responded with a rising hum that quickly grew into a scream.
The hull shook as Space folded inward around it, bending reflections till the ball turned into streaks of liquid light.
A shudder came down their backs as they realized what they just accomplished, they had done it, a stable singularity, possible FTL onboard.
Alad V and Nef Anyo smiled dreamily, completely taken in by the fantasies they spun themself inside their heads, while also individually planning the betrayal of the other.
But then suddenly, the Instruments failed. Void resonance spiked beyond measure and for an instant, the Vespera Invictus seemed to hang inbetween time and space, as the singularity imploded, taking everything in the vicinity with it, as the Void collapsed into itself.
Tenno POV:
"Operator I'm measuring an enormous spike of Void energy in the Fleets vicinity, it seems to be stable, what might that be" Ordis mentioned through the intercom as I started to meditate, readying myself for what was to come. "Whatever it is, we will stop it"
I said before suddenly feeling the whole ship shaking, jolting one way, while my head flung the other, as my Vision turned black.
