I kissed her and told her that she could be with the baby and me, but she didn't say anything at first.
"Cassandra, I thought that was what you wanted?" I asked her in a calm voice.
"Yes, but I don't understand right now, Donald. Are you proposing to me?" She asked me in a calm voice, staring at my face.
I knew that was exactly what it seemed like, but it was not yet.
"Not exactly, Cassandra. I mean, not officially, but I will. I just want you to know that you have earned yourself the chance of having a life with this child if that is what you choose," I said to her in a calm voice, and she quickly nodded her head in agreement.
I could see the trace of excitement on her face even though she wasn't smiling. I did not need anyone to tell me that she was glad to know that she could share a life with this child, and strangely, I felt excited.
"I don't know what to say to you, Donald, that I really do not," she said to me in a calm voice.
