Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Will the Liang Family Survive the Night?

Murong Qingcheng rolled off the bed and staggered toward the door.

"Murong girl," Liang Haoming mocked, watching her struggle, "this is the Liang family's Longxing Hotel. Inside and out, it's all mine. You're not getting out."

She grabbed the doorknob.

"Open that door," he sneered, "and I'll let my men in. They'll take turns."

Murong Qingcheng's delicate frame trembled at the threat.

Seeing her hesitation, Liang Haoming lunged. He grabbed her shirt, trying to drag her back. She clung desperately to the doorknob.

Rip—! Her shirt tore.

"Uncle Liang! You can't do this—this is a crime!" she shouted, hair disheveled, voice trembling.

Liang Haoming held the torn fabric to his nose, inhaled, and tossed it aside.

"Don't fight it. This is Longxing—my turf. Even if I kill you, no one would trace it back to me. Let's not waste time—Zhuzi is waiting."

Murong Qingcheng froze. Zhuzi? What did he mean?

He smiled cruelly. "That's right. My son liked you for years. He's lonely down there. You'll join him."

Her face went pale. A ghost marriage?!

Liang Haoming threw her onto the bed.

She fought back, but her strength was fading. She had only held out this long on sheer willpower. There was no escape. This was Liang territory—guards everywhere.

Unless… Lin Chen!

She bit her lip, struggling to stay conscious. Where was he?

She should've called him earlier. Not waited.

Now… it was too late.

Liang Haoming grinned madly, grabbing her collar.

Rip! Another piece of clothing torn.

Panicking, Murong Qingcheng bit down on his arm—hard. Blood spilled.

Slap! He struck her across the face.

"You little tramp! Don't know what's good for you!"

Furious, he grabbed her throat, pinning her down.

Tears streamed down her cheeks. She was finished. No one could save her.

BANG!

A gunshot rang out.

Then came screams, more gunfire—then silence.

Liang Haoming's heart skipped. He let go of her and grabbed a Desert Eagle from the nightstand.

Something was wrong.

Could it be Lin Chen?

There were multiple shots—yet no one had reported back. That was bad.

He crouched in a corner, gun aimed at the door.

"I don't care who you are—step inside and I'll shoot you dead!"

Silence.

Outside, not a sound.

He shouted, "Anyone alive out there? Answer me!"

No reply.

Sweat soaked his palms. His breathing quickened. A drop trickled down his temple.

He blinked—and—

BANG! The door exploded open.

A shadow burst through.

Before Liang Haoming could fire, he was kicked hard—slammed into the wall.

CRASH! A dent formed where his body hit.

Pain exploded through him. Bones cracked. His gun fell.

Thud. The Desert Eagle hit the ground.

"Husband!" Murong Qingcheng sobbed.

She saw Lin Chen—and broke down.

Tears gushed like a dam breaking. She rushed into his arms.

He caught her gently. "I'm here. You're safe now."

Liang Haoming coughed blood. Fear gripped his heart.

He had no doubt—Lin Chen would kill him.

As Lin Chen comforted Murong Qingcheng, Liang Haoming tried to crawl away.

"Lay a finger on my wife—and try to run?"

Lin Chen grabbed a car key from the table and hurled it.

Crack! It hit Liang Haoming's ankle—he stumbled and fell.

Lin Chen helped Murong up. "What do you want me to do with him?"

Through sobs, she whispered, "He… he wanted to marry me to a corpse…"

Lin Chen's face darkened.

The Liang family was worse than beasts.

"Then none of them will be spared."

He stepped forward, murder in his eyes.

Liang Haoming turned pale.

Even as the Liang patriarch, he trembled.

Lin Chen was serious. He would kill him.

"Y-You can't kill me! I'm the head of the Liang family! If you do, the entire Liang clan will hunt you down!"

Lin Chen smiled coldly.

"Hunt me down? You think I'll leave a single Liang alive? After tonight—"

"There will be no Liang family left."
