CHAPTER 11
As the zombies were only 10 feet away, we both turned to the exit before I questioned one thing. What about Ruby and Nicole?
I didn't waste anymore time to think and ran for it, Christian beside me. We ran out, we put a wood piece thing to block them from getting out.
Though, once we actually took a good look around, I realized that we should probably get out before zombies start crowding this area as well.
"We should either get back to our spot at the mall and get out of here as fast as possible."
Christian nodded, as we started to head back to the entrance of the mall.
But as we reached the entrance, a horde of zombies were already splat on the door, making it impossible for us to get in successfully.
So, I turned around to the direction of our van, and started walking quietly towards it. I forgot Christian was with me, but luckily he followed me.
"Is it ok if we just leave Ruby and Nicole there alone?" Christian said getting in the van.
I turned to him and spoke sarcastically, "you think it's actually going to be ok?"
I paused for a moment and stared at him dead in the eyes before scoffing sarcastically.
"Of course not, idiot." I laid down in the back seats while Christian sat in the passenger seat. I laid down comfortably and took out my phone. I opened it, and the time currently read '11:34pm'.
It's been quite a long day, and believe it or not it's only been around 7 days since this incident. ONLY the 7th day. My question is, are there a lot of things awaiting? or are we going to end up like those human eating monsters? I guess we'll have to find out for ourselves.
"Hey, dumbass. Did you bring the shopping cart out of the supermarket, on our way out?" I asked as I put both of my hands at the back of my head in a relaxed position laying comfortably.
"uhm...n- yes..? I don't know. I did hold onto it though.." he said uncertainly.
"oh.. ok.." I replied trying to peek outside from the window in front of me, but couldn't see anything while laying down.
ruby and Nicole's perspective:
While the other two were chilling in their van, ruby and Nicole were currently hiding behind a bed in a furniture section. as for how they got there? Well. . .
First off, as Ruby and Nicole after they got the drinks, then they made their way to the bags section. But as they were checking out some bags a few zombies were coming near. . so being smarter than the other pair, they took around 3 bags and stuffed the drinks inside, before making their way to somewhere else.
But, all the sections that were currently visible were crowded in zombies except the furniture section. and since a few zombies were already closing up to them, they decided to walk over there and hide behind a couch. but it was too small to hide both ruby and Nicole. so, they moved behind a bed instead.
"what should we do? the zombies might close in soon.." ruby said, looking at Nicole with a slightly worried and anxious look.
"We should probably be very silent while trying to make our way out of here. Perry and Christian are probably already waiting for us at the spot. it's either now or never." ruby nodded, smiling slightly anxiously. They both stood up trying to make the least noise possible. ruby picked up the bag of drinks carefully and started following Nicole behind him.
they both pretty successfully made it out of the furniture section, but something they didn't think through Is... where to go next. Well, there were a few places that weren't crowded with zombies, but the places were a little far away, though visible.
Both Ruby and Nicole started heading back towards the security room, and they both were pretty lucky that there weren't many zombies along the way there. Once they got there with the things, they knocked somewhat quietly on the security room door. Alice, the black haired one, opened the door.
They both walked in silently, before Millie broke the silence. "Where are the other two?" asked her.
"they should be getting back now as well.." said Nicole sounding slightly unsure. they both waited.. and waited... and waited... after about 15 minutes ruby and Nicole had started getting worried, and maybe they should get out of there and check? Ruby thought of it, and told Nicole by whispering it in his ear.
"should we do that?" she whispered after telling him the idea.
"i-i mean.. yeah I'm getting pretty worried now.."
Nicole lightly pushed himself off a counter he was leaning against and slightly peeked out the door. the path was clear, and they exit the door silently, only the slight tap of their shoes on the ground to be heard.
Nicole looked around to check once more, and make sure the path was clear, and after he made sure he stepped out ruby following slightly behind him. but as both of them started walking into the aisle that they knew Christian and Perry went into, ruby took a little glance out of the glass clear door from where they entered the supermarket, ruby saw our van.
as ruby saw our van, she took a good look before shrugging it off, without realizing that she saw Christian from the window Infront. but then she managed to process it, and took another glance and by this point Nicole was already a bit ahead of her. ruby took another glance and saw Christian. Christian didn't seem to realize, and since Perry was laying down in the back seat she wouldn't be visible to ruby. ruby grabbed the back of Nicole's shirt, dragging him back.
"what?" Nicole asks Ruby in a confused manner.
"look." ruby said slightly pointing to the van, as Christian still didn't seem to notice.
"oh.. they're already in the van?.." Nicole kept silent for a moment after that, before speaking up again.
"we should also probably get back.." ruby agreed, and they both approached the automatic opening door. a few zombies did surround the area outside the door, but not close enough to hear them. as ruby stepped out, Nicole behind her accidentally dropped the bag with the drinks, it made a pretty loud noise. Nicole quickly picked it up, not aware of the zombie coming towards him…
Perry pov:
I laid on the back seat bored. I had nothing to do, and not like I'd talk with the loser in the passenger seat. I stared at the ceiling contemplating my life. I took my phone again, checking the time.'12:58 am' I sighed, unlocking my phone and playing some offline games on it. within the few minutes that has passed, me and Christian went to go get the shopping cart that was a few meters away.
1:17pm
I took a snack from the driver's seat where me and Christian poured them out. I ate a few while still playing on my phone. my phone didn't run out of charge since I had a portable charger, but my portable charger would eventually run out of charge as well. I sat down in the middle of the back seat with my legs crossed comfortably, my shoes off. I snack on the bag of chips, getting a bit thirsty. Which reminded me of both Ruby and Nicole. I wonder how they're doing..
but I was snapped out of my thoughts and Christian started calling out to me slightly in a shook voice..? "o-o-oi shitty f-face" he said.
I sat up, and asked in a relaxed tone, "what's up?" I replied. He turned to me and pointed out the window, where I saw fricking Nicole on the ground resisting a zombie on top of him. and I tore my gaze over to ruby, who was also fighting a few zombies herself.
