Chapter 6 - chapter 6

The next few days were similar to the day I met powder and echo, I spent my time helping those that wondered into my store and aiding the kids with their studies and answering any questions they had. The nights I spent making more of my horizon series atomaton's after I added another charge to its tech base allowing me the knowledge to create the larger and more dangerous mecha animals and the process the create the biofuel that the originals used.

I decided to add the biofuel system back into the my horizon series as while it is inferior to my imaginary energy gears it was a green substitute for petroleum in things like engines so the me and my people my have uses for it.

The kids had managed to complete the homework I had given them in less than 2 days with full notes written like they were from a text book in echo's case and like the rambling of a lunatic in powders case (secretly I wrote reports more like powder to be honest) so I stayed true to my promise and let the sit and ask questions as I did maintenance on the Colchis bull.

The questions were varied and actually thought provoking, with the ranging from them asking how the bull Never seemed to need charging or refueling or how I managed to fit such a massive amount of gears into the bulls body (19 million and counting as I automated the process after discovering how long it would take).

I answered as best I could and they seemed to accept my answers for what they were, the most I could tell them at the moment.

When the new week arrived I didn't really have a desperate need for any knowledge so I used them on what I wanted instead. I put two charges in music and another in musical instruments, the last two I put into clockwork weaponry as I wanted to make sure I could handle any trouble that came my way.

The music and musical instruments charges I used to start recreating music from my world and with clockwork at 5 charges now it was beyond easy to create music boxes and vinyl recorders to trade with. I made sure to make a grand jukebox that covered an entire wall in my shop that requires no payment to choose a song so people could sample any music they wish to buy.

With the charge in clockwork weaponry I had he ability to make clockwork based firearms, using a small but of the tech from horizon in the form of its electromagnetic field generators to build a clockwork railgun that fired it's own gears until it ran out of gears to fire before the imaginary gear kicks the gun (and only the gun not any damage done by the gun) back in time to its base state.

I was aware I was overusing the imaginary gear technology but it allowed me to break physics over me knee with barely any effort needed.

I made a simple underarm holster for the gun and basically never needed to think about it again because absolutely nothing and i mean nothing in this city could withstand the force of a railgun powered by infinite energy.

Now the really fun part of the week was more lessons with the kids because they had reached (in 1/16 of the time I expected) the point of their studies that I would allow them into my workshop proper and would teach them actually complex stuff past what was common in this world's knowledge.

"Now when I say I expect you to listen, I mean it. Do not play in this workshop, do not steal from this workshop and especially do not tell others of this workshop no matter what" I give them a stern face as I explain the rules of my workshop to them.

"Now I won't teach you all of my secrets just yet and what you have been told is a very small amount of it but I will tell you this." I kneel down to their level and gently take a hand from each of them.

"Above all else, above my love of science, above my wish to live a long life and even above my love of machines I have a single wish that I use as a goal. I want to help people" I say with my whole chest and every bit of conviction I hold in my soul.

"I know there are terrible people out there, the murderers the gang members or even worse but even then I want to help those in need" I make sure they get the point I'm trying to tell them.

"I can't sit idly by while people, innocent people are hurt or in pain. I have even used my love of helping people as a core tenant of the programming in my atomaton's. Deep in their gears I inscribed a need for them to protect innocent life above any order I give them even their own life" I wanted all of my creations to live as long as they wanted to even if they out live me.

"The needs of the many should not be at the cost of the few but the wants of the few will not cost the suffering of the many" I tell them and while I may not mean much to them I was my own personal saying.

"Basically if you have to kill ten to save a thousand you should find another way, but if a thousand will die for the benefit of ten then that must be stopped above all else" I don't know if they understand and I didn't expect them to I just needed them to understand that I want to help those I can as best as I can.
