Among the people entering the classroom were not only Yuta and Kuchiki Rukia but also many other students from Shino Academy.
Hirano Kuzen and the others who had been taught by Kuchiki Rukia earlier were also included in this group.
When they spotted Yuta and Kuchiki Rukia, the first-year elite group students came over to greet them.
"Miss Kuchiki!"
Some civilian girls gathered around Yuta.
"What is the name of our new classmate?"
"Yuta."
"My name is Mikami Asui," a girl wearing black-rimmed glasses and long bangs said.
"Hello, my name is Kanae Yurika…"
"My name is Juri Rika."
Mikami Asui placed her hands in front of her, rose slightly on her tiptoes, and blushed with slight embarrassment. "Yuta… Yuta, it's wrong for you to skip class like this. Come to class with us in the future, okay?"
Yuta nodded vaguely and responded casually.
Kuchiki Rukia stood to the side and watched Yuta chatting with the girls around him cheerfully. After recalling her brief interaction with him, she couldn't shake the feeling that they were already familiar-even though they had only recently met.
Hirano stepped forward and greeted her. "Kuchiki-sensei."
Kuchiki Rukia gave him a calm nod.
Everyone entered the Kaidō classroom one after another.
Though called a Kaidō classroom, it resembled both a medical room and a laboratory.
The scent of disinfectant lingered in the air-not exactly pleasant, but not unpleasant either-and evoked the atmosphere of a medics' field station.
Rows of seats were arranged throughout the room, with a transparent box placed on each chair. Inside each box was an injured white mouse.
At the front was a large podium, where another injured white mouse sat. Some had broken limbs, others broken tails…
It was clear that these mice had varying degrees of injury. The injuries given to the students for practice were mostly mild and non-lethal, like severed tails.
Since Kuchiki Rukia wasn't teaching this time, she attended as a student. With Captain Unohana leading the session, Rukia did not sit at the front but chose to join Yuta in one of the back rows and took the seat beside him.
She placed her hands neatly on the desk, her legs together without any space between them. Her posture was upright and formal-but compared with Matsumoto Rangiku, her presence felt less striking in scale.
For his part, Yuta sat lazily with his legs stretched out. His foot bumped against hers beneath the desk.
"Okay, listen to the lecture," Rukia said as she lightly kicked his feet with her own in reprimand.
"Yes, Rukia Sensei," Yuta replied and sat upright immediately.
Jingle Bell...
Soon after, the bell sounded to signal the start of the lesson.
After it ended, all eyes turned as a gentle woman in a pure white captain's haori entered the classroom. The number "four" embroidered on her back revealed her identity as the captain of the Fourth Division.
Her long black hair was braided into two sections that trailed from the back of her head to her neck and curved forward across her body in graceful arcs.

Kuchiki Rukia glanced down at her chest and couldn't help but show a trace of sadness.
Yuta noticed there was someone following behind Unohana Retsu-a tall and slender girl with smooth white hair cut into a sleek bob and two crimson ropes hanging from each earlobe.
Four braids tied with golden orbs swayed behind her with each step she took.
Though clearly female, her appearance leaned masculine. She was none other than Kotetsu Isane-the vice-captain of the Fourth Division.
Unohana Retsu stood at the podium and spoke in her usual calm tone. "These are some experimental mice borrowed from Captain Kurotsuchi of Squad Twelve for use in today's Kaidō training."
Yuta recalled what he'd read about Unohana before: she was once one of Soul Society's most brutal killers-a swordswoman who pursued nothing but strength by blade alone.
In those days, she called herself Unohana Yachiru, the master of every sword style she encountered across the world.
Now that same person stood teaching healing techniques?
"The essence of Kaidō is spirit body repair," Unohana continued. "It requires extremely refined and precise control of your spiritual pressure…"
As she spoke, she raised her hands and began to demonstrate.
Each mouse had its number printed in red paint. The one on the podium was labeled simply "one."
It appeared critically wounded. Its small body lay flat against the plastic base of its container-a deep gash exposed along its spine. Whether it had survived previous experiments or battles was unclear-but it looked near death now.
Unohana extended both hands toward it. Spiritual pressure gathered between her palms-a warm green glow illuminated her fingers before spreading wide into an oval-shaped field around the mouse's body.
The wound began to pulse-the damaged flesh wrinkled inward-and slowly regenerated before everyone's eyes. New tissue replaced what had been torn apart moments earlier.
Within moments, the once-dying mouse stood upright again and darted around inside its box with renewed energy, squeaking loudly as it moved.
Several first-years gasped in awe-they'd clearly not seen Kaidō healing this closely before.
"So that's Kaidō? That's amazing!"
"The mouse looked seriously injured-it's fine already?"
"I really want to learn Kaidō… If I get hurt later in battle, I won't have to worry as much…"
Kuchiki Rukia leaned over and tapped Yuta's elbow with hers. "I'm not as skilled as Captain Unohana-but my Kaidō isn't bad. If you don't understand what's being taught today… you can ask me after class-I'll teach you."
She hesitated briefly before adding in a lower tone, "Though Kaidō depends heavily on talent… If yours isn't good enough-I won't be able to help much."
Yuta may have already encountered basic forms of demon arts or healing techniques-but not everyone could master Kaidō so easily.
Its foundation lay in precision control at microscopic levels-the manipulation of spirit particles far beyond surface skin repair. One wrong adjustment could worsen an injury rather than heal it.
Meanwhile up front, Unohana Retsu wrapped up her explanation and gave her closing instruction in calm tones:
"Everyone, go ahead and try now. See whether you can perform beginner-level Kaidō."
