Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

With this realization, Yuta quickly entered a state of selflessness.

The spirits in the atmosphere around him also entered a state of change and chaos, so that no one dared to approach Yuta's position.

"…maybe it can be like this."

The surrounding spirits levitated and entered Yuta's body with each breath, strengthening his spiritual pressure.

"Breathing happens all the time. If you can integrate the spiritual pressure training method into your breathing, does that not allow you to practice spiritual pressure constantly?"

Yuta tried it and quickly noticed the amount of atmospheric spirit particles that his breathing could absorb was far too low. It only sustained the minimal energy required for survival by those without spiritual power.

"This pace of practice is way too weak. Is there a faster way?"

"Since cultivating by absorbing ambient spirits is possible-but simply too inefficient-I only have to increase the volume."

"Quantitative changes lead to qualitative results. Scientific practice."

As Yuta kept testing his theories, the spirits around him remained in a state of unrest.

"That's it."

"That's it."

Yuta opened his eyes. He felt tired-but it was worth it.

There was something electric in his gaze. Excitement buzzed through his bones.

He had created an invincible spiritual pressure training method.

It could push his strength upward in a single bound.

[You have combined knowledge from your previous life and successfully created the skill "Swallowing the Sky and Devouring the Earth."]

[Swallowing the Sky and Devouring the Earth: Transform oneself into an endless black hole, drawing in all pure spiritual beings nearby to increase spiritual pressure.]

Around Yuta, thick black energy formed into swirling currents that devoured light and motion alike.

That blackness was deep, mysterious, immense.

From Yuta's body came a force of crushing gravity-it pulled everything toward him in spiraling eddies.

Spirits within the atmosphere hurtled toward him without resistance.

The earth cracked and lifted beneath his feet. Clouds unravelled into vapor and vanished into the pressure roaring from his form.

Seen from above, a massive storm twisted across Rukongai's 80th district.

Yuta stood at its heart.

The sudden storm churning above District 80 alarmed those in Seireitei immediately.

Division 12, Technology Development Bureau

Thanks to the network system developed by Division 12, monitoring spiritual pressure now stretched across almost the whole Soul Society.

Wherever major energy fluxes appeared, they would know quickly.

At this moment, Yaozhou-the head of Communication Technology and Radio Wave Measurement Sections-inched forward toward the screen in disbelief. (T/n: i decides not to vhange his name cause he's a fodder..)

His appearance no longer resembled anything close to human. His head nearly fused to his torso with barely any neck remaining. At his left temple sat a spinning joystick, while stitches ran across the top of his scalp. His jaw extended outward with a grin that split back past his ears.

Yaozhou had arrived for work expecting nothing interesting. As usual, he would idle away time watching broadcast patterns between Seireitei and the human world for anomalies.

He had long since stopped expecting surprises from Rukongai.

That region was filled with wandering civilian souls lacking any strength or potential. After decades of monitoring them, not one had shown anything unusual-or worth recording.

That was when the monitor howled with alarms. Red lights flared across every station under his oversight.

Yaozhou tensed stiffly in his seat and leaned closer to the screen.

Since there wasn't always someone stationed at monitors around the clock, emergency protocols had been built into their design. Most alerts only occurred when fluctuations exceeded dangerous thresholds-

And this one had gone far beyond that line.

He wracked his memory. When was the last time something triggered this level of urgency?

Ah-that incident involving Shinigami hollowfication over a hundred years ago. Even then, it took multiple captains to resolve it.

Now something worse?

He clicked furiously through layers of broadcasts until he reached Rukongai's image feed-and froze.

Others in the room rushed over as soon as they heard alarms blaring nonstop at full volume.

"What happened?" Ajin leaned sharply over Yaozhou's chair with wide eyes fixed on the display screen.

Technicians throughout the bureau abandoned their stations and pushed forward for news of what had changed so suddenly.

"There hasn't been this level of alert since forever."

"Could Hollows be swarming Rukongai again?"

"No way-it has to be something worse."

None of them were prepared for what they saw next-

"What is that…?"

"A powerful spiritual pressure detected in Rukongai's Area 80."

"Level 20…"

"Now Level 10…"

"Climbing past Fifth…"

"Third Class!"

"It's… it's not stopping…!"

"The monitor for Reiatsu-it's blown out!!"

Yaozhou pressed two buttons while frowning deeply and turned to Ajin with urgency in his posture. "Notify the captain immediately. Whatever is happening in Rukongai District 80-we are not equipped for it."

Fifteen minutes later

First Division Barracks - Captain Meeting Hall

Excluding Ukitake Jushiro, who lay bedridden with illness, every captain assembled inside the building without delay.

Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto sat motionless at the head of the table. Beneath the weight of his haori hung centuries of unease and authority. Two wide scars crossed over his bald scalp. His half-lidded eyes gave nothing away as he folded his hands silently in his lap-the tension around him said everything instead.

"Is everyone present?"

"All but Captain Ukitake," someone confirmed quickly. "He remains on leave due to illness."

Ichimaru Gin smiled with narrowed eyes. "He's not healed up properly-you've got to give him time."

Kyōraku Shunsui stood lazily near the wall, adjusting his bamboo hat without much care. His pink-patterned cloak swayed as he moved only slightly. "Yeah… what dragged us all out this time, old man? If it's nothing serious-I've got better things to do."

Yamamoto turned toward Mayuri Kurotsuchi without responding directly. "Mayuri, explain."

Mayuri stepped forward slowly wearing his white-and-black mask-the mechanical crackle layered in his playful tone disturbed all listeners immediately.

"A spike in spiritual pressure was detected minutes ago-in district 80 of Rukongai," he began flatly. "The strength… might already match or exceed captain-class Reiatsu."

"I'd rather examine it personally up close," he added suddenly, face twisting into amusement beneath paint and metal. "To dissect and study it would be ideal."

From the other side of the room came a low scraping sound as Kenpachi Zaraki stepped forward and gripped the hilt of his sword tight enough for its wooden sheath to creak.

"A monster? In Zaraki...? That sounds fun."

He bared his teeth as he looked toward Yamamoto directly-

"Let me go."
