Sasuke floated in midair, his body wrapped in lightning chakra that shimmered like ghostly flames. His expression was calm, but the killing intent radiating from his Mangekyo Sharingan was suffocating. The crimson glow of his eyes seemed to announce to the world the terrifying potential hidden within him—eyes not unlike Kaede's.
Kaede, watching silently beneath the God Tree, narrowed his gaze. This foolish, stubborn boy… his talent was undeniable. Such a man could not be ignored. Already, a plan began to form in Kaede's mind.
On the battlefield, Sasuke's form grew even more fearsome. Chakra wings stretched from his back, their glow flashing like shields of pure lightning. With Kagutsuchi enhancing his Susanoo, the giant warrior swung a massive sword of lightning and flame toward Naruto. At the same time, Sasuke unleashed a Great Fireball, his timing so precise it predicted Naruto's own evasions.
Naruto leapt clear of the Susanoo's strike, only to land directly into the fireball's path.
The explosion swallowed him whole.
The spectators gasped, panic spreading through the stands. The flames died down, leaving behind nothing but scorched earth. There was no sign of Naruto.
"Is… is it over?" one voice whispered.
"Did Naruto lose?" Chōji muttered, his eyes wide. He had seen it himself—the fireball engulfing Naruto completely.
But Shikamaru shook his head, his expression grim. "Not yet. Look closer… something's off."
His sharp gaze had caught what others missed. The way Sasuke moved, the strange current around his body—his lightning chakra wasn't just defense. Every jutsu he released carried its attribute, meaning paralysis laced every strike. It was a terrifying advantage, one that should have left Naruto helpless.
And yet… Naruto was gone.
Suddenly—
A kunai whistled through the air, cutting past Sasuke's shoulder.
In the very next instant, Naruto appeared behind him, hand glowing with violent chakra, a Wind Release Rasengan spinning in his palm.
The counterattack had begun.
