Chapter 161 - A Wounded Return

An unknown amount of time had passed.

A purple magic circle now covered the sky, and an invisible force crushed all the monsters within its range into a bloody pulp.

Victor stood panting, covered in blood, on a mountain of corpses, the chunks of flesh under his feet now unrecognizable. His magical power was almost depleted, but the monsters in front of him seemed endless, constantly swarming towards him.

"Gaearh!" Just then, a black shadow suddenly leaped out from the mountain of corpses. Its giant claws swung towards Victor's chest. But Victor didn't care, not even glancing at the shadow.

In the next second, the attacking monster was split into dozens of neat square pieces, becoming part of the mountain of corpses.

The black shadow was a new kind of monster. It was shaped like a headless human, with a large mouth full of jagged teeth on its torso and two claws that were longer than its body and could extend and contract freely.

Victor called it a Ghoul. This kind of monster was weak and not a threat.

The Fiendfyre Demons and Leviathans had been completely annihilated by Victor, and there hadn't been a sign of them in the depths of the lava sea for some time.

However, the Black Goats were still coming in an endless stream, and the elusive Nameless Mist was very difficult to deal with!

Victor looked at the towering black chunks of flesh in front of him.

At this moment, he wanted to run, but he couldn't.

To get back to the Harry Potter world, he had to go back to the place where he entered and open the portal.

Space is chaotic but also has rules.

In any different space or world, the different directions correspond to completely different transferable spaces. So, if he randomly opened a portal, he didn't know where he would be teleported.

In a best-case scenario, he would just be transported from one end of the world to the other. In a worst-case scenario, he might be directly transported to a spatial rift and torn to shreds by the spatial power within.

In fact, Victor had placed a spatial anchor at the entrance, and he had not let his guard down, placing many transitional spatial anchors along the way. But as he'd mentioned before, the movement distance of Spatial Magic is limited to a range of 100 kilometers.

The distance he needed to go to open a portal and escape was about 10 kilometers. Normally, he could cover that distance in less than twenty seconds with a burst of speed. But the problem was that the mysterious Nameless Mist had been constantly blocking his escape.

Every time Victor finally blasted a hole in his escape route with magic, the Nameless Mist would appear in front of him. Then, its countless terrifying eyes would flash with a crimson light, and it would launch a powerful mental attack.

In the less than two-second window of distraction, a Gug would rush out of the black mist and swat Victor away with its huge, rough palm.

At this moment, Victor looked at the endless herd of Black Goats in front of him. Although the Fiendfyre Demons and Leviathans were temporarily gone, who knew if they were still rushing towards him from a more distant place. And he couldn't rule out the possibility that more difficult monsters would appear.

His magic power was almost gone, and in this desperate situation, Victor had only one option left: to use a reckless magic and fight for his life!

But the risk of using this magic was extremely high, and it would most likely leave him without a corpse.

Back in Earth Land, Victor had accidentally obtained a magic called Abyssal Maw, which could absorb flesh and blood to gain a huge amount of magic power. But this magic had a huge flaw: he couldn't control the amount of flesh and blood it absorbed or the speed at which it converted it into magic power.

In other words, once he used Abyssal Maw, its power would absorb all the monster corpses under and around his feet and sacrifice them. The massive amount of converted magic power would be poured into Victor's body in an instant.

In this situation, either Victor would explode and become a part of this bloody mountain of corpses, or he would have to pour all the magic power out before it could explode him. But this would require Victor to have an extremely high level of control over magic power.

In the past, Victor had tried to use Origin to restructure Abyssal Maw's magic structure to eliminate this flaw, but as soon as he started, he found that the complexity of Abyssal Maw's magic structure was far beyond that of the Fairy Tail Guild's three Great Magics.

At the same time, the ability of this magic felt a bit inhumane, and it would be difficult to use in future battles, so Victor had put it aside. He never expected to have a chance to use this magic today.

After much thought, Victor decided to take the risk and try to use Abyssal Maw. In fact, he had no other choice now. The magic power in his body was so low that it could only sustain his Sky Magic. So, since he was going to die anyway, he might as well take a chance.

Victor straightened up slightly, facing the Black Goats that were not far from him, and looked at the flickering Nameless Mist.

He shouted, "Come on! I'm a wizard of the Fairy Tail Guild!"

He then slammed his hands onto the mountain of corpses under his feet and released all the remaining magic power in his body.

Abyssal Maw Sacrifice Magic, Activate!

In an instant, a massive black magic circle rapidly unfolded and covered the entire land. In the center of Abyssal Maw's magic circle, there was a large, round mouth with sharp teeth, which fell layer by layer into the darkness of the center.

The mountain of corpses was rapidly melting at an incredible speed, and then a chaotic wave of magic power instantly poured into Victor's body.

"AHHH!" Victor let out an extremely painful scream as the excessive magic power directly tore his body apart.

A large amount of blood flowed from his facial orifices, and his eyes were completely stained blood-red. The skin on his already scarred body was torn open in countless places, with skin and muscle fibers still connected. Balls of bloody mist burst from the wounds and slowly fell to the ground, where they were reabsorbed by Abyssal Maw.

Victor felt as if countless rasps were constantly grinding away at his flesh and blood from the inside out.

He endured the pain that was beyond human limits, struggled to open his eyes, and looked at the endless despair in front of him. Victor's hands trembled uncontrollably. He slowly put his hands together and, with a tearing voice, shouted the spell that would decide his ultimate fate.

"Fairy... Law!"

Fairy Law: One of the three Great Magics of the Fairy Tail Guild. It uses holy light to vanquish darkness. The caster only destroys targets they deem to be enemies. It can be called the unique legendary Great Magic.

In an instant, a huge bell rang out in the sky, and the powerful magical power shook the clouds. A massive golden magic circle, with no visible edge, covered the sky. With Victor at the center, dazzling golden light spread outwards like the shockwave of a nuclear explosion.

Whether it was the Black Goats, the Nameless Mist, the Gugs, or the Ghouls, when they were swept by the power of Fairy Law, they all froze in place, turned a lifeless gray, and finally dissolved into dust.

A few minutes later, the golden light gradually faded on the gray-brown continent. Victor stood in a pool of blood, which was already showing signs of congealing. At this moment, he was forcing himself to use the last bit of his consciousness to cast Sky Magic on himself for healing.

Lady Luck had smiled on him. Although he was barely alive, he wasn't exploded by the massive amount of magic power converted by Abyssal Maw, and as far as he could see, all the monsters had been eliminated.

After an unknown amount of time, Victor felt the intense pain in his body subsiding, and he felt his limbs returning to him. He gritted his teeth, pulled a Wakebrew from his pocket space, and drank it again.

He checked the magic power in his body. There was about a tenth left, but it was enough for him to use. A blue light flashed, and Victor slowly opened a portal and flew to the nearest spatial anchor.

Although his injuries were severe and he needed to recover, the most important thing right now was to return to the Harry Potter world. He couldn't stay in this dreadful place. He had just released such a massive amount of magic power. Who knew if that would attract some other unknown, troublesome things?

So, despite his serious injuries, Victor continuously cast spells to fly towards his destination.

While healing himself, he finally rushed back to the spatial anchor where he had entered. Using all the remaining magic power to open the portal, Victor finally returned "safely" to the Harry Potter world.

And then, the scene that Hermione and the others saw at the Guild unfolded.

And now, in the normal timeline, Victor was lying in his room at the Fairy's Abode. Everyone from the Fairy Tail Guild was there. Even Dumbledore, Snape, and Madam Pomfrey were there.
