Chapter 162 - Awakening

Victor fainted shortly after returning to the Guild. His injuries were too severe. His broken ribs were the least of his worries. The large amount of blood loss caused by using Abyssal Maw had severely damaged his core.

Hermione's Sky Magic was still in its early stages, and her healing ability could only help Victor with his surface wounds. She tried her best to heal him, but Victor remained unconscious.

As a last resort, she ran to Dumbledore's office and waited outside for a whole day until he finally appeared and she could ask for help.

Dumbledore was also shocked to see Victor in that state. He quickly had Fawkes bring Snape and Madam Pomfrey, who was at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

After Snape gave Victor a dozen unnamed potions, and with Madam Pomfrey's various healing spells, Victor's serious injuries were finally reduced to minor ones.

Three days after returning from the Fiendfyre world, Victor, who was still a bit pale, finally woke up. He slowly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the familiar wooden ceiling.

He knew he was in his room at the Guild. He still felt very tired, his stomach was uncomfortably empty, and his throat and lips were extremely dry. There was also a disgusting, strange taste in his mouth. A powerful urge to eat and drink rushed to his brain!

Victor tried to sit up, but as soon as he moved, he found that one of his hands was being pulled by a strange force. He turned his head in confusion and saw Hermione slumped over the side of the bed. Her hand was holding his left wrist, and her eyes were closed as she slept. It seemed she had been here for a long time.

"Hermione... Hermione." Victor propped himself up with his elbow, reached out from under the covers, and patted Hermione's head.

"Hmm?" Hermione instantly woke up. She raised her head groggily and saw Victor's face up close.

"Victor! You're awake!" Hermione shouted excitedly. She quickly sat up and looked at him nervously. "How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?"

"I'm fine, just very thirsty and a bit hungry," Victor said in a hoarse voice.

"I'll go get you some water, and then I'll have Kururu make you some food," Hermione said, immediately getting ready to run out.

"Wait," Victor said, reaching out and pulling her into his arms.

"What are you doing?" Hermione's face instantly turned red as she breathed in his familiar scent, but she only pushed on his chest with her hands and didn't resist.

"How long was I out?" Victor asked casually, gently stroking the head of the person in his arms.

Hermione froze for a moment. She remembered Victor's severe injuries from a few days ago, and her eyes instantly reddened. "You were out for three days. I tried my best to heal you, but you weren't getting better. Your wounds would even tear open again from time to time!"

"In the end, we had no choice but to get Professor Dumbledore to help. With the help of Professor Snape and Madam Pomfrey, your injuries finally stabilized."

"Do you know how much you scared us? You were covered in blood. I thought you were going to die! What in Merlin's name did you do?!"

As she spoke, Hermione started wiping the tears from her face. Victor smiled wryly, shook his head, and comforted her, "I'm sorry I made you worry. But look, I'm okay now, aren't I?" With that, he discreetly kissed her hair, and she didn't notice.

"Mmph..." Hermione sobbed, looked up at Victor's face, then, blushing, got out of his arms and wiped her face. "I'll go get you some food," she said, then turned and ran out of the room.

But just then, the door to the room suddenly opened. Victor turned his head at the sound. Before he could see who it was, a figure suddenly plunged into his arms.

"You're finally okay!"

"Luna..." Victor said with a smile, calling the name of the person in his arms. "Don't worry, I'm fine now."

Upon hearing this, Luna instantly smiled happily. She sat down directly in Victor's arms and pulled out a small white jade bottle from her pocket. "Here you go."

"What is this?" Victor asked curiously.

"Phoenix tears. I heard they're great for healing. I borrowed them from Fawkes," Luna replied.

Not far away, Hermione looked at the two of them hugging and clenched her fists, overcome with jealousy. However, she knew that this was just Luna's way of showing she cared for Victor, so she just wrinkled her nose and stomped downstairs in a huff.

Meanwhile, Victor was a little speechless to hear that Luna had collected Phoenix tears for him. He said, "Luna, you know that Phoenix tears don't work if you drink them, right?"

Phoenix tears could heal very serious injuries. In theory, even if a person were cut in half, as long as they were still alive, Phoenix tears could put their body back together perfectly, without even leaving a scar.

However, although Phoenix tears could almost regenerate flesh, they were for external use only and couldn't be ingested. As Fawkes' friend, Luna would certainly know this. So, Victor was very curious as to why Luna would give him Phoenix tears when his external injuries were basically healed.

In the next second, he got his answer. Luna slowly replied, "Take it. You'll need it later." Although she didn't know why Victor had come back so badly hurt, Luna felt that if it happened once, it could happen a second time. So she wanted to give Victor the Phoenix tears to save his life.

Victor understood what Luna meant. He rubbed the vial in his hand, then stroked her head and said, "Thank you, Luna." With that, he handed the vial back to her and continued, "You can keep this. If I get hurt again, you can use it to heal me."

Luna took the vial, thought about it with a dreamy look in her eyes, then nodded and said, "Okay."

Soon after, Victor and Luna went downstairs. They were surprised to find that it was already evening, and all their friends from the Guild were there.

In the three days that Victor was unconscious, everyone at the Guild was very worried. They all came to the Guild and stayed there all day, hoping that Victor would wake up. So, when they all saw Victor coming down the stairs, they immediately cheered excitedly.

"Master?! You're okay?!"

"Master, you're finally awake!"

"WAH! Master!" Zoe suddenly jumped up from the sofa. A piece of crisp was still stuck to the corner of her mouth, and she was crying as she threw herself into Victor's arms. "WAH! He's alive! The Master's alive!"

"Mmph..." Victor suddenly felt his chest tighten and his ribs ache. Zoe's headbutt and her selfless hug made him roll his eyes.

The others nearby quickly rushed forward, pulling on Zoe's clothes and shouting, "Zoe, let go! You're going to choke the Master to death!"

"Zoe, the Master is still a patient! You're going to make his injuries worse!"

"WAHH! I don't want to! I want to feel the living Master!" Zoe continued to sob and refused to let go of Victor. Everyone was using all their strength. They had no idea this little girl could be so strong! But in the end, Luna finally made Zoe let go with a simple pull of her ear.

"Oof!" Victor touched his waist and ribs with a grimace. After that battle, he felt so weak!

Just then, Hermione came over with a bowl of steaming hot Fried Spider Eggs with Rice. Victor usually loved rice, and knowing his appetite, she had specially told Kururu to make a large portion.

"Victor, the rice is ready! Come and eat!"

"On it!" Victor immediately replied. He instantly vanished from the spot, picked up a nearby bucket of milk, chugged it down, and then, with the bucket empty, grabbed a spoon and started to eat ravenously.

Seeing Victor so full of life, everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Slow down!" Hermione said.

"Can't, gotta ask 'bout 'ome," Victor mumbled, his mouth full of rice.

"I can't understand what you're saying. Finish your food before you talk!" Hermione said impatiently. But a person next to her accurately understood what Victor was saying.

"He said, 'I can't. What's the situation at my house?'" Luna translated.

Victor nodded and gave Luna a thumbs-up.

Hermione rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, I already handled Aliya. I told her you suddenly got an invitation to go to Ireland for a study on Moon Frogs."

After hearing that, Victor gave Hermione a thumbs-up as well. To be honest, he was worried that someone from the Guild had taken Polyjuice Potion and was impersonating him at the Swinton's house.

It wasn't that he was worried about their bad acting; he was worried someone would find the discs he had hidden under his bed!
