The next morning, Kin Ouren slowly opened his eyes to find the space beside him empty. Vixen Sature wasn't there. But neatly placed on the bedside table was a handwritten note. Kin reached for it and unfolded the paper with a curious heart.
> "Honey, I hope you feel better after waking up.
I had to leave urgently for some work at the camp.
Please don't be upset. I'll meet you again very soon."

A soft smile curved on Kin's lips as he read the note. He kissed the paper multiple times, holding it close to his chest like a precious memory.
Just then, Shen Seizan entered the room and caught Kin in the act.
"Oh-ho, what's going on here?" Shen teased playfully, raising an eyebrow.
Kin, flustered and embarrassed, quickly hid his face behind the note.
Soon after, Kenny walked into the room, full of her usual energy.
"Brother Kin, are you coming with me to class at the military camp today?"
Before Kin could respond, Shen jumped in, "No, let him rest today. After what he went through last night, Kin deserves a break."
He turned to Kin with concern deepening in his voice. "Honestly, Kin, I still don't understand… Why did that thing attack you? Did you by any chance… touch anything cursed or unsatisfied?"
Kin looked up and shook his head, "No, I didn't touch anything like that…"
Then, with a faint smile and a glint of mischief in his eyes, Kin added,
"So… now you believe me, huh? When I said someone whispers near my ear… and I see this cursed village in my dreams?"
Shen fell completely silent.
For the first time, he had no argument… and no answer.
