Chapter 9 - Chapter 6: The Welcome Banquet

The three days passed quietly.

Han Yue stayed mostly in her room, calmly preparing for the grand welcome banquet. She didn't waste her time—her spiritual space grew richer, and her strength began to stabilize. Most importantly, the exquisite dress Madam Lin had specially prepared for her was finally delivered.

The dress was stunning on its own—but with her newly enhanced appearance, it became something otherworldly. Her once-average beauty had undergone a total transformation. The moment she stepped out of her room and descended the grand staircase…

The entire hall fell into a stunned silence.

All eyes were on her.

Gasps and murmurs of awe echoed through the lavishly decorated space.

"Is that the real daughter?"

"She's breathtaking!"

"She looks like a fairy descended from the heavens…"

Her flawless complexion glowed under the chandelier lights, her black hair flowing like inked silk. Each step she took exuded grace and calm composure.

Han Jifu, standing proudly by the stage, immediately stepped forward to greet her. Holding his head high, he announced in a booming voice, "This is my daughter, Han Yue—the long-lost legitimate daughter of the Han family. As of today, she has officially returned home and holds ten percent of our family's company shares."

A burst of applause filled the room.

Many guests—business partners, shareholders, and elite socialites—crowded around Han Yue to congratulate her, showering her with praise for her elegance and calm demeanor.

From the corner of her eye, Han Yue spotted Han Feifei approaching. She was holding a tray filled with red juice, walking right beside Han Jiaojiao.

It's starting.

Han Yue remained composed. In her past life, this moment had turned into humiliation. But now, she was the one in control.

With a subtle flick of her fingers, a thin layer of ice silently formed beneath Han Feifei's feet.

Slip!

Feifei lost her balance and stumbled forward. The tray of red juice flew from her hands, landing squarely on Han Jiaojiao's face with a loud splat!

"Ahhh!!!" Jiaojiao screamed, juice dripping down her expensive gown and stinging her eyes.

All eyes turned toward the commotion.

Feifei, wide-eyed and pale, fell to the ground and started stammering, "I-I slipped… I was going to…"

But before she could say more, Jiaojiao quickly interjected through clenched teeth, "It's fine! Just be careful next time."

Despite her trembling rage, she kept up the act.

Han Yue approached gracefully. "Are you alright, sisters?" she asked softly, helping both of them up.

"Accidents happen," she continued with a composed smile, then turned to a maid. "Please take them upstairs to wash and change. The party has just begun."

Her calm response and gentle tone won the admiration of everyone watching.

"She's so mature for her age…"

"Truly a lady of noble character…"

"So different from the rumors…"

As the crowd resumed mingling, Han Jiaojiao clenched her fists, her face darkening with jealousy as she heard all the praise for Han Yue.

Later, as the guests continued to enjoy themselves, Han Yue stepped outside toward the swimming pool for some fresh air. The cool night breeze brushed past her cheeks as she walked, seemingly lost in thought.

From behind, Jiaojiao quietly followed, her expression dark and resentful.

She didn't notice the group of teenagers and younger guests Han Yue had invited to play around the poolside.

Focused only on Han Yue's back, Jiaojiao picked up her pace. Just as she was about to reach out and "accidentally" push her into the water—

—Slip!

With a wave of Han Yue's finger, another slick patch of ice formed beneath Jiaojiao's foot. She lost her balance and tumbled straight into the pool with a loud splash.

"Someone fell in!"

"It's Han Jiaojiao!"

Panic erupted.

Han Jun came rushing out and dove into the water, pulling Jiaojiao out and laying her on the ground. She coughed and gasped for air, soaked and humiliated.

Then, a voice in the crowd shouted, "I saw it! Han Yue pushed her in!"

Han Jun's face twisted in anger as he pointed at Han Yue. "You! Are you still this immature and jealous? Do you hate Jiaojiao so much that you'd try to drown her!?"

But this time, Han Yue did not remain silent.

She widened her eyes slightly, feigning a wronged look. "Brother, I wasn't even near her. Everyone saw—I was standing here with the other guests."

Several teenagers quickly spoke up in her defense. "She didn't push anyone! She was with us the whole time."

"She didn't even go near the edge."

"I think Jiaojiao slipped on her own. Why was she even sneaking around?"

The crowd of adults murmured, now fully understanding the situation.

"The fake daughter tried to frame the real one…"

"Jealousy runs deep…"

"This is the difference between true blood and an outsider..."

Jiaojiao's eyes rolled back, her expression dazed. Unable to withstand the humiliation, she fainted.

Madam Lin rushed over. "Jun, carry Jiaojiao upstairs. Have the maids get her dry and call the family doctor."

As the attention shifted toward the fallen Jiaojiao, no one noticed the fleeting glint of cold glee in Han Yue's eyes.

The gloating expression vanished in an instant. By the time she looked up, she was once again the picture of calm, concern, and grace—everyone comforted her, reassuring her that she had done nothing wrong.

"It was just an accident."

"Don't let it bother you, dear."

"You're truly admirable."

The party continued, and Han Yue successfully integrated into high society through this welcome banquet.

It was an overwhelming success—everyone praised her elegance, admired her breathtaking beauty, and complimented her noble temperament. Lavish gifts piled up at her side: designer handbags, luxury shoes, high-end cosmetics, glittering jewelry, and thick red envelopes stuffed with money.

The guests left with nothing but admiration in their hearts for the Han family's long-lost real daughter.
