Seraphina's POV
Taking a deep breath, I climbed onto the windowsill and swung my legs over the edge. This was the second floor, which meant it was quite a drop.
However, I had experience with this sort of thing, thankfully. Growing up in the werewolf world, with constant abuse and hell, I'd learned how to sneak in and out of places when necessary. Though I'd hoped those particular skills were behind me.
Apparently not, I thought dryly as I carefully lowered myself down, my fingers gripping the windowsill.
I felt along the wall with my foot until I found the decorative stonework that jutted out slightly. Perfect. Using that as a foothold, I began my descent, moving slowly and carefully.
The Victorian architecture, with all its ornamental details, actually made climbing easier than a smooth modern building would have been.
Thank you, old-fashioned design preferences.
