This miserable little apartment was driving me insane. Musty, cramped, and far from the company—but I had no choice after they discovered my place. I'd been forced to rely on that idiot who had been spying on the company. At least he'd managed to find me this fifth-rate hideout that served its purpose.
Today had brought me a small pleasure—watching Monica squirm. Following her like a ghost had been entertaining; she was clearly on edge. That fool's idea to install spyware on the company's phones and computers was proving invaluable. I could track my puppets from the comfort of my laptop screen, deciding which strings to pull next. The only frustration was Monica rarely venturing out these days. Four months pregnant, she already looked like she was smuggling a beach ball under her clothes.
