REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC57: Another attempt

Chapter 57: Another attempt

'System...show me my progress.'

{Ding!}

{Status:}

Strength: 84

Speed: 81

Endurance: 90

MP: 5000 / 5000

HP: 150 / 150

Hades was sitting inside the bathing pool, washing away the blood and grime from his body as his mind churned with unease.

'You said I have endless mana... then why can't I use a skill more than once?'

He clenched his fist underwater. 'When I activated *Featherless Flight*, I thought I'd be able to do it again. But I couldn't.'

No matter how much mana he had, there wasn't a single spell in his arsenal that truly let him unleash it.

His recent battle with the Duke-ranked dragon had been a brutal wake-up call. The way the monster swatted at him—it was as if death had reached out its hand, brushing his cheek to remind him how small he still was.

He had felt hopeless before, yes. But this time, he had tasted it. And it burned.

The distance he had to cover... it was endless.

And he needed to run.

[As I mentioned before, once you awaken the core, you'll tap into the limitless energy that flows through you. And regarding spellcasting—you've already acquired a new one.]

[You simply need more practice.]

Hades sighed and raised a hand lazily out of the water.

"Do you think I'll be ready in ten years?"

[I can't say for sure. Your progress depends not only on your own effort but also on your mates. Your first mate will help you unravel your core. So you must choose wisely. And even if you gather the right partners... you'll have to hunt like a madman to awaken your second core. Only then will you become a deterrent.]

Mate, huh...

Hades stared at the ceiling of the chamber.

How the hell was he supposed to convince a female dragon to become his mate?

And now that he was with Luna... things had become even more tangled.

What if she were reluctant?

What would he do then?

{Host, a new skill has been added to the index. Would you like to see it?}

The system's timely interruption felt suspiciously well-placed.

'Yeah, show me.'

{Active Skill: • Crimson Fangs

Your fingers are the teeth of a hunter. They can scratch and pierce the toughest material, and the magma of the fangs leaves lasting damage on the enemy.}

{Usage limit: 30 minutes}

{Note: The time limitation will increase as your endurance stat grows.}

Hades raised a brow. 'So, if I activate it but don't use it for more than a minute... is that it?'

{No, host. The skill may be used for a total of thirty minutes in fragments. Its timer resets with each night's rest. The poison your body secretes during its activation is harmful to you as well. That is why the time limit exists—to protect the host.}

"Huh... smart."

He lifted his hand slightly. The water rippled as if expecting a command.

"Crimson Fangs, activate."

Suddenly, the pool began to boil.

Startled, Hades yanked his hand from the water.

His eyes widened.

His fingers had transformed—thinner, longer, unnaturally sharp—and glowed a molten red like they had been dipped in the blood of a volcano.

Each fingertip radiated heat, enough to steam the air around them.

They weren't hands anymore.

They were fangs.

A hunter's fangs.

*Knock*

"Are you alright inside, Hades?" came a gentle, feminine voice.

Hades responded quickly, "Ah, yes. Just finishing up."

He rose from the water and reached for a towel, wiping down his body in a hurry. After pulling on a shirt and shorts, he stepped out of the steamy bathroom. Luna was setting the table.

It had been three days since the incident—and this morning would be the first he'd be eating a proper meal again.

"How did it feel?" Luna asked with a smile, walking over to take the towel from his hand.

"Refreshing. I really needed that." He sat down on the bed, eyes drifting toward the food laid out.

They were staying at a modest motel on the outskirts of Bavech. Hades still hadn't fully recovered, so they'd decided to stay two more days before resuming their journey.

He had received a promise from the Sage: once he was strong enough to defeat thirty Elder-ranks on his own, she would guide him to the other side.

She would help him reunite with his real family.

Hades still didn't know how he'd react upon meeting his true parents. But the curiosity—that part was undeniable.

"Shall we begin?" Luna asked, catching the eager glint in his eyes.

Just as he was about to nod—

*Knock*

"Hm?" Luna tilted her head. "I didn't order anything else."

She rose and walked toward the door.

Meanwhile, Hades, ignoring the interruption, picked up a good-sized piece of meat and stuffed it into his mouth.

When Luna opened the door, she found a woman standing outside, balancing several neatly folded towels stacked in her arms. Her face was unfamiliar, and her smile held a strange stiffness—almost too polite.

"Here are your towels," the woman said with a friendly tone.

But Luna blinked and replied with a polite smile, "I didn't ask for any."

The lady froze for a second, then quickly corrected herself, "Oh! I'm so sorry. It was meant for room 302, not 202. Really, I apologize—ah!"

As she attempted a bow, a few towels slipped from her grip and fell to the floor.

"Wait, I'll get them," Luna offered, crouching down to help gather the fallen towels.

The woman's expression subtly shifted. As Luna bent forward, the woman's fingers slipped between the stack, retrieving a slim, hidden pipe from the folds. Without hesitation, she aimed at Hades, who was sitting just a few steps away, directly across from the open door.

She blew into it.

*Fwip!*

A dart cut through the air, whistling toward his face.

But Hades—despite appearing casual and relaxed—never lost sight of his surroundings.

*Spit!*

He sharply spat out a small bone—leftover from the meat—and it collided with the dart in midair, shattering its path mere inches from his eyes.

The dart tumbled and landed harmlessly on the bed.

The woman's eyes widened in shock. She turned to flee.

"Aahh!" she cried as something yanked her ankle.

Before she could take a step, she was lifted into the air, dangling upside down—her captor was the silver-haired girl, her grip unshakable.

"Not so fast, lady." Luna's voice was sugar-sweet, but her smile carried a hint of menace. "Why don't we have breakfast together?"

She calmly stepped back inside the room, dragging the upside-down woman with her, and shut the door.

To make sure their upcoming 'conversation' didn't disturb the neighbors, Luna raised a soundproof barrier with a soft chant.

They just can't catch a break.

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC58: Grateful

Chapter 58: Grateful

"So you guys really don't know, huh?" Hades muttered with an exasperated sigh as he shoved the last man toward the others.

The man collapsed the moment Hades let go of him.

Before them lay a pile of people—hotel staff on the surface, but in truth, hired assassins sent to kill him.

It had started with one woman. She was caught quickly. Then, several men leaped in, attempting to finish the job.

Naturally, they failed.

Hades might not be at his peak, but he wasn't so weak that mere humans could harm him.

Luna stepped closer, her voice laced with concern. "Do you think the King placed a bounty on your head?"

Hades glanced at the groaning bodies on the ground and muttered, "Most likely. For now, let's leave this place."

Luna nodded without hesitation.

They didn't have any luggage—they'd lost it during the earlier ambush—so they left the inn not long after.

Though Hades was injured, he could still walk.

As they stepped onto the road, Luna was thinking hard. Hades needed a place to rest, but where could they go?

Suddenly, Hades broke the silence. "The King hasn't issued any bounty on us."

"Huh?" Luna blinked in surprise. "What do you mean?"

"If it was the King," Hades explained, "we'd be dealing with soldiers, not hired thugs. This isn't his doing."

Last night, he'd visited the Adventurer's Guild, just to be sure. If there were a wanted notice out for him, he would have seen it. But the board was clean.

"Then...who's behind this?" Luna whispered.

Hades's expression darkened. "Taylor."

"...!" Luna's eyes widened at the name. "Are you sure? I thought he was your good friend."

"Cedric was my good friend, too," Hades said coldly. "And there's a reason I suspect Taylor."

He sighed. "Before I left the academy, I told Taylor where I was going. Not because I trusted him. I told him because I didn't. I needed to test him."

Luna frowned. "Test him?"

"I made it sound like even the Headmaster and Vice-Headmaster knew my destination. That way, if he planned something, he'd feel safe enough to act."

Luna's face twisted in disgust. "What a snake. Always pretending to be kind and supportive... but now that I think about it, with both you and Cedric gone, he benefits the most."

Hades nodded. "Exactly. That's why I started doubting him. Cedric couldn't have been acting alone."

Luna reached out and took his hand. Her voice burned with fury. "When do we see him next? This time, I'll punish that bastard myself. I'll make him regret ever laying a hand on you. I swear—I'll make him cry blood."

Her rage was silent, sharp—without a hint of a smile.

Hades smiled faintly at her. "I'm glad you're angry on my behalf, but we can't confront him at the academy. That would turn us into criminals. We have no proof."

Luna blinked. "Then what's the plan?"

Hades's voice lowered to a growl. "In two months, he'll head home. Alone."

Luna's eyes lit up with a vicious glint. A slow, wicked smile curved on her lips.

"Then let's make it his final journey~"

°°°°°°

The Sage had told Hades last night, "If you have time, visit the Ancient City of Samaran."

He had asked her why—but she didn't give him an answer.

Still, knowing her, she must've had a reason. She always did. And if she wanted him to grow stronger, then Samaran surely held something important.

"Samaran is in the Elven region," Luna reminded him, seated across from him inside the swaying carriage. "We'll need permission to cross the border."

They were on their way to a quiet town near the edge of the human realm—a place not chosen at random. It was close to the border humanity shared with the Elven Kingdom.

Elves were few in number—less than humans even—but they'd gathered and built a vast, ancient civilization beyond the reach of human lands. And to enter, one had to cross the border with a valid reason and proper documents.

"Hmm..." Hades mused. "If we request entry from any kingdom, they'll ask questions. They might let you in... but not me."

Luna glanced at him.

As the Saintess, she was well-known. Any church would recognize her. But Hades was another story.

Worse, if word got out that they were headed toward Samaran, Taylor might catch wind of it. And if that happened, more trouble would follow.

"So then... how are we going to cross the border?" Luna asked.

Hades gave a casual shrug. "We'll figure that out when we get there."

Luna tilted her head, about to ask another question—but before she could, Hades reached forward and pulled her into his arms.

"Always asking questions," he murmured as he leaned back against the carriage wall, holding her close.

Luna blinked, a faint blush creeping up her cheeks. "Am I being a nuisance?"

Hades gave a soft hum—no.

"Just... don't feel like talking right now," he said quietly. "Can I stay like this for a bit?"

Luna nestled against him, adjusting herself to fit more comfortably in his embrace.

"As long as you want," she whispered. "I'm all yours."

He breathed in her scent, and his chest tightened slightly.

She always smelled like spring—soft, warm, something that stirred something primal inside him. Her body against his was a dangerous comfort. Every time he held her like this, a strange kind of hunger tugged at him—one that made him want to squeeze her tighter and never let go.

"You've grown so beautiful, Luna," he murmured. "Even your hair's different."

Luna smiled. "It looks better now, right? I changed when I awakened my phoenix powers."

Hades leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

"Your hair was pretty before too," he whispered. "You just didn't have the money for fancy products."

Luna giggled. "Well, I get to live the dream now. Every single day."

Hades smiled. "I remember that. Your little diary. You even made a list of everything you wanted to eat once you got rich."

Back then, there was no future for her. She was unawakened, unwanted, and always overlooked. No one was going to adopt her. Hades himself was barely scraping by—and yet he still shared his meals with her when he could.

But Luna had never lost hope. Not once.

She didn't have a guide, a plan, or a magic awakening. Just sheer positivity.

"And look," she said proudly. "Now I have a house. People who care for me. I can whine, I can eat anything I want... and no one flinches when I look at them."

Hades felt a tug in his chest. Her words brought a bittersweet warmth.

She had suffered so much.

But now, she was loved. She had a home. She had grown into the woman she always dreamed of becoming—and someone out there had given her a hand, just when she needed it most.

And for that... he was grateful.

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC59: Free advise

Chapter 59: Free advise

The ancient civilization of Samaran was located within the borders of the elven nation.

To reach it, Hades and Luna were headed north, toward the boundary that separated the human and elven realms.

When the Primordial Beings clashed, all races scattered across the world, seeking new lands to settle and rebuild.

Before that great war, every race lived together in harmony, governed by the Draconic Beings. It was a time of peace and unity.

The elves, being a proud warrior race, believed it was their duty to support the Primordials. As a result, more than three-fourths of their population—mostly males—remained behind to fight, while the rest evacuated.

Due to their already low fertility rate, the number of elves with pure bloodlines dwindled greatly over time.

"Elves have a good relationship with the human race, thank God," Luna muttered with a sigh as they traveled in a carriage toward the nearest town near the border.

What were they going to do there to get a permit?

They still didn't know.

"Well," Hades replied, "humanity couldn't afford to make another enemy—not with the dragons still out there."

Humans understood one thing clearly: if the Pact ever failed, the dragons would attack without hesitation. In fact, small groups of low-ranking dragons never truly stopped invading human lands.

That's why human nations worked hard to maintain good relations with other races—offering support through trade and resources.

When it came to raw strength, no one could match the dragons.

But in terms of diplomacy, humanity had the backing of almost everyone else.

"Who do you think your parents could be?" Luna asked, her eyes fixed on him. "The Sage did call you Young Master, after all."

Hades let out a wry smile. "Maybe someone duke-ranked? That dragon I fought in Bavech seemed unusually pissed off. He might've sensed the presence of a beast equal to himself... and got scared."

Luna hummed thoughtfully. "That's possible... Then doesn't that make you some sort of heir to a throne?"

Hades shrugged. "Who knows. Honestly, even if I find out who they are, I might not be able to accept them."

He leaned back, his expression darkening slightly.

"Dragons..." he muttered, "they're a twisted bunch. Controlled by primal instincts. They'll fall as low as needed to get what they want."

[Aren't you cursing yourself by saying that?]

His inner voice echoed dryly.

Hades chuckled to himself. 'I've lived my entire life as a human. Why should I count myself as one of them?'

---

Before Luna could say more, the carriage gradually slowed to a halt.

The driver knocked on the wooden panel. "We've reached Hiloy."

"Thanks for the ride," Hades said, stepping down and handing over a small pouch of silver coins.

The driver opened it, his trained eyes quickly spotting that it held more than the standard fare.

With a grin tugging at his lips, he leaned forward and said quietly, "If you're looking to cross the border... illegally, I mean—check in with the Mercenary Guild. They might be able to help."

Hades raised an eyebrow, intrigued, and gave a slow nod.

"Noted."

The duo stepped into the town after paying the visiting fee at the checkpoint, a small toll booth manned by sleepy guards under flickering lamplight.

"We're running low on money," Hades informed her quietly as they passed through the open gates. "I'll head out tomorrow morning and hunt something. Selling the beast parts to the guild should keep us afloat for a while."

"I'll brew a few potions too," Luna added, brushing silver strands behind her ear. "They usually sell for a good amount."

Hades turned toward her, surprised. "You can make potions?"

Luna blinked. "You didn't know? I told you—I've been adding potion drops to your food every now and then."

"I thought you carried them around." Hades gave a small laugh. "That's... a rare skill you have, Luna."

She smiled faintly. "Every part of me has healing properties. My tears can restore stamina. My blood heals wounds instantly. And blood drawn from my heart... it can bring someone back from the brink of death."

Hades was left speechless. Amazed—and worried.

No wonder her grandmother always insisted on keeping her identity secret.

If word got out... any power-hungry noble would want to cage her just for her blood.

He reached for her hand and held it firmly.

"Stay by my side."

Luna's expression softened. There was no hesitation in her voice. "You don't even have to ask."

---

The moment they stepped into the heart of Hiloy, a wave of sound and color washed over them.

The town—though modest in size—was alive, even under the veil of night.

Cobblestone streets shimmered with the glow of enchanted lanterns hanging from crooked iron posts. Shops and stalls lined both sides of the main road—blacksmiths hammering away behind closed shutters, late-night vendors selling fried skewers and steamed buns to drunken adventurers.

Bards strummed quiet tunes under archways, and the air smelled of spice, smoke, and distant flowers. Crates of herbs, monster parts, and glowing mushrooms were stacked neatly outside apothecaries, some guarded by lazy familiars—foxes with ember tails or tiny dragons curled under lanterns.

Children chased each other barefoot across the square, weaving between knights in worn armor and mages cloaked in deep blue. Most of the residents seemed used to the constant motion, the rowdy crowd of travelers, and the scent of steel and magic hanging in the air.

Hiloy was far from peaceful—but it felt safe. A town where danger was kept at the gates by the constant presence of guilds and warriors.

Dozens of hunter's guilds operated here. From licensed elite clans to ragtag bands of beginners, Hiloy had become a hub of mercenaries, slayers, and craftsmen. The buildings were a strange mix—some made of fine elven stone, others carved from darkwood with beast bones decorating their rooftops. Towering boards outside each guild listed bounties, dungeon alerts, and recruitment notices.

That explained the rush even though it was close to midnight. For adventurers, Hiloy never slept.

After weaving through the bustling streets, Hades and Luna found a small inn nestled in the center of town—an old, three-story building with ivy crawling over its windows and a warm orange glow seeping through its curtains.

The owner, a dwarf with braided beard and sharp eyes, welcomed them with a nod and offered a modest room on the second floor.

Just when Hades was handing him the coins, he asked, "Where can I find the mercenary guild?"

The dwarf gave an upturned glance before telling him, "The veiled corner. If you are going there, make sure you have a damn good reason to."

Hades nodded, "I do have. Thanks."

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC60: To the other side

Chapter 60: To the other side

"Are you sure you want to come along?" Hades asked, glancing at the girl walking beside him.

Luna nodded without hesitation. "Since we're leaving right away, why would I stay back at the inn?"

She had a point—and the confident way she walked, even toward what most would call a shady part of town, was oddly reassuring.

'She's grown into a brave woman,' Hades thought, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

[Why don't you mark her?]

The inner voice chimed in, sudden and intrusive.

Hades blinked. 'Mark her?'

'What even is this marking, exactly?' he asked silently.

[Claiming a mate for yourself. Once you mark someone, they can't become anyone else's. Not as a mate—not even physically. Unless, of course, they're ready to suffer hellish pain.]

[Mutual claiming is like a soul-bonded marriage. I'd suggest you avoid that, especially with someone from another race. It changes both of you... permanently.]

Hades frowned. 'What happens if I do it with someone from another race?'

[Anything. Her body might reject the changes your soul brings. If she's not strong enough... she could die.]

"...!"

Hades's eyes widened slightly. Mating... was that dangerous?

A cold silence lingered in his mind.

He walked a few more steps before quietly asking, 'Is there a way to break a mark?'

[There is. Certain methods exist to remove a one-sided claim. But mutual marking? That binds you for life.]

'And if my partner doesn't want to be with me anymore... I can still end a one-sided claim, right?'

[You can... but why are you even asking this?]

Hades sighed, glancing at Luna once again as she strode beside him, unaware of the storm quietly brewing in his thoughts.

'I know she'll never leave me. But even then... I don't want to bind her. If one day she chooses to walk away, I want her to be free to do so.'

[Man... you're such a negative guy.]

Hades didn't respond.

They had now reached the far edge of the town—where the noise of life began to fade, and the streets grew quiet.

Hades and Luna walked through the narrow streets, drawing more than a few glances.

He wasn't sure whether it was their age... or their clothes.

Everyone around them wore dark, muted clothing—nothing flashy. Their outfits blended into the shadows and alley walls like second skin.

Hades glanced at Luna's pale cloak and his own clean, distinct outfit.

We stand out. A bad sign.

The deeper they went, the more uneasy he felt.

That sensation—like a thread pulling tight in his throat—grew stronger as they stood before a tall, looming building tucked between cracked stone walls.

He paused, his eyes drifting upward.

A window on the third floor.

He felt it—a stare. Someone was watching them.

But when he looked... nothing.

The window was empty.

"This must be it," Luna whispered, a slight unease in her voice. "Should we go in?"

Hades didn't answer right away. Instead, he reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze before nodding.

*CREAK.*

The heavy door moaned open.

Inside... silence.

Far too silent for a place said to be full of people.

And yet—every head turned the moment they entered.

Twenty pairs of eyes tracked them like predators sizing up prey.

Each step they took felt like walking across glass.

The two approached the reception desk.

A woman sat behind it, lazily filing her nails, utterly unconcerned by their presence.

Trying to remain calm, Hades cleared his throat. "Excuse me... I heard if someone wants to cross to the other side—without papers—this is the place to ask?"

It sounded ridiculous even to him.

He had never done something like this before. He wasn't built for shady negotiations. He wasn't prepared.

But you play the hand you're dealt.

Before the woman could even reply, someone from a nearby table scoffed loud enough for all to hear.

"Where does this kid think he's going? 'To the other side'? With that attitude, someone might just send him to the real other side!"

"Phahahah!"

Laughter exploded in the room. Chairs shook, cups slammed on tables. Even the receptionist chuckled behind her polished nails.

Luna's brows furrowed in disgust.

Hades didn't react. He expected hostility.

But what came next wasn't just words.

A tall man—easily over six feet—stood and strolled toward them, cocky and grinning. He leaned in, one hand landing heavily on Hades's shoulder.

"Wanna cross, kid? Easy. Send this little chick to my room for the ni—"

*CRACK.*

A sharp, dry sound tore through the laughter like a whip.

The man's sentence never finished.

He blinked. Then screamed.

"FUCXXXK! MY ARM!!"

He stumbled back, clutching his twisted arm, face pale with agony.

It had happened so fast—no one saw it.

But now every single person in the room was on their feet.

Weapons drawn. Smiles gone.

The air turned razor-sharp.

This wasn't a tavern anymore.

It was a battlefield waiting to happen.

Steel scraped from sheaths. Chairs were knocked aside.

A dozen men surrounded them—some with daggers, others with clubs, axes, or bare fists hardened by years in the underworld.

"Stay close," Hades whispered to Luna without looking.

One man lunged forward.

Hades side-stepped and drove his elbow into the attacker's jaw—crack—dislocating it clean. The man dropped like a stone.

Another came from the left, swinging a short sword.

Hades ducked low but the blade grazed his shoulder—tsss—drawing a thin line of blood.

He winced.

Damn... they're faster than I thought.

A second attacker charged with a war axe, roaring.

Hades twisted his body and slammed his palm into the man's gut, channeling ether through his strike—boom!—the man flew back into a table, splinters flying everywhere.

Three more closed in at once.

One tried to grab Luna.

Hades's eyes darkened.

He spun with a growl, grabbing the man's wrist mid-air, and twisted—SNAP!

A scream erupted.

Then, Hades kicked him square in the chest—ribs crunched—and the man collapsed, vomiting blood.

Another thug tried to stab him from behind.

Hades sensed it just in time—he spun, the knife nicking his side. His fist met the attacker's nose—crack—the man screamed and fell backward, teeth scattering across the floor like dice.

His breathing grew heavier. They were swarming.

A hammer came down toward his head.

Hades blocked with his forearm—it stung bad—but he endured it. Gritting his teeth, he slammed his head forward, smashing into the thug's face—blood sprayed.

Another grabbed his arm from behind.

Too tight.

But just then, Luna kicked the man in the middle of his legs, making him and every man in the room groan, before slamming her fist into his face and sending him flying back.

"Hey, eyes on me." Hades said to the bald man who instantly turned his head and saw an elbow coming his way.

"Fu-" he didn't have the time to finish cursing before the elbow strike made his face bleed.

Hades twirled and delivered a kick to his gut, throwing the man off balance.

Just then, he turned to face another opponent, when suddenly,

*SLING*

Something went past his face, just a breath away from piercing his head before it pierced the pillar on his left.

Hades sharply turned to his right and found a brown-haired man standing there with a crossbow in his hand.

Everyone who was planning to attack Hades and Luna, turned still.

The man's cold gaze was on Hades when he commanded, "The place is closed now. Go home."

He stepped closer to Hades before saying, "You...come with me."

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC61: Quest

Chapter 61: Quest

Hades noticed the man's ears first—long and sharp. He was an elf.

Mana clung to him so naturally, it was like he was breathing it out.

And that last strike... it wasn't meant to injure. It was a warning. A clear one.

It worked.

Hades couldn't always judge someone's power just by looking, but the man's confidence and the way raw mana lingered in the air around him... it was enough.

He was dangerous.

They were led up to the first floor of the building. The elf walked ahead, then opened a door and gestured them inside.

"Sit," he said, pointing toward the couch opposite his chair.

Hades exchanged a look with Luna before the two sat down.

The room looked personal. Likely his own quarters.

Taking a guess, Hades spoke, "You're the guild master."

The elf didn't answer. His narrowed eyes remained fixed on them.

"You barged into my place," he said, "and started throwing punches left and right."

"They started it," Hades replied flatly. "They should've been ready to defend themselves if they picked a fight."

The elf let out a mocking laugh. "Look at the child. Learns a few tricks and suddenly thinks he owns the world."

Hades didn't flinch at the jab. He answered calmly, "Whether I rule the world or not doesn't matter. But when it comes to people I care about, I won't take a single insult. Not from anyone."

The elf's smile faded. He leaned back, his expression unreadable.

Luna saw the chance and asked, "Can you help us cross the border?"

The elf looked at her for a moment before replying, "Why do you want to enter the Elven territory?"

"We want to visit Samaran City."

His brows lifted. "That old place? Really? Smuggling something over there, sure, I'd believe that... but this?"

Hades quickly stepped in with a believable excuse. "Our parents told us to receive the blessing of the temple."

The elf looked between them again, as if trying to see through the lie, but eventually said, "A cart leaves for the other side in six hours. Pay two thousand gold coins and you're on it."

"...Two thousand?" Hades echoed, eyes wide.

He had spent too much lately—on supplies, on lodging. And without steady income, he was nearly broke.

"Too much?" the elf asked, almost amused. "Then apply for proper documents. It won't cost much, just time."

He stood up, adding, "The cart leaves in six hours—with or without you. Bring the money, or wait ten days."

Once outside, Hades looked at Luna.

"Let's check the Hunter's Guild," he suggested.

Luna hesitated. "Hades... if I sell my tears, it might be enough—"

"No," he cut her off. "It's too risky. We don't know anyone here. I don't trust them, and I won't let anyone get your tears—not directly, not indirectly."

Her shoulders dropped, disappointed that she couldn't help.

Hades gently held her hand. "As a warrior, I still need you."

Her eyes lit up. "So... we're going hunting?"

"Most likely. Let's look first," he said, leading the way into the guild.

This place was livelier than the mercenary guild.

Instead of going to the receptionist, they headed straight for the bulletin board, checking out the posted quests.

"The harder ones are probably hidden behind the simple ones," Hades muttered, lifting papers to see what was underneath.

"Hey, how about this?" Luna asked, holding out a quest sheet.

It was a hunt—a beast named Ghirodah roaming in the forest just outside town.

The reward: four thousand gold coins.

Hades was considering whether the two of them could take it on alone when a voice interrupted.

"We've been eyeing that quest too, but we're short on members."

Three people approached—two women and one man. All of them wore friendly smiles.

"We're not licensed," Hades said.

The brown-haired guy shrugged. "You look strong. That's enough."

Luna asked, "How do we split the reward?"

The blue-haired girl behind the boy, twirling a pair of knives, answered bluntly, "Even split?"

Hades frowned. "We split it. You get one half, we take the other."

The girl's smile faded, but the boy stepped in quickly, "Fair enough. One condition—we leave right now."

Hades let out a breath. "We'd ask the same. We don't have time to waste."

"Great. Meet us at the guild's door in ten minutes. We'll grab our armor."

Hades nodded and watched them walk off.

Luna leaned in, whispering, "They give off a weird vibe..."

Hades sighed. "Well, everyone lives for their own greed. The only thing we need to decide—once we understand whether their greed is tolerable or dangerous—is where to dispose of them."

He wasn't being dramatic. Hades had seen all kinds of people in his life, enough to know Luna's instincts weren't wrong.

Three strangers, conveniently lacking members, yet sharing the same urgency as him and Luna to take on a high-reward quest?

Too perfect. Too clean.

Still, until they showed their true colors, Hades would play along. He didn't know this land or its terrain well enough to go in alone. Tolerating them—for now—was the smart move.

"We don't have armor," Luna mumbled, eyes on the ground. "You don't even have a weapon. Feels like we're back to the old days."

There was a small smile on her face as she said it. A little nostalgia.

Hades chuckled. "We've got each other. And unlike before, I can actually protect you now."

Luna reached out and squeezed his hand. Her grip was firm, steady.

"If things go bad," she said softly, "I'm still putting myself between you and danger. That part hasn't changed."

His smile faded slightly. There was a sharp sting behind her words.

He hated hearing that... hated the way she said it like a promise.

But those determined eyes—burning with unshakable loyalty—told him it was pointless to argue. So he didn't.

They stood outside the guild, chatting quietly as time passed. Finally, the trio returned—armored up and armed to the teeth.

The brown-haired boy stepped forward and, without a word, tossed something toward Hades.

A spear.

"Figured you'd need this," the boy said casually.

Hades caught it. It was solid, well-balanced, the kind of craftsmanship that didn't lie.

He smiled, then extended a hand. "Thanks. Name's Hades."

The boy took his hand firmly. "Larry. And these two are Maria and Olivia."

Hades gave them a nod, then said, "Let's hope we make a good team out there... and get what we came for."

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC62: True colors

Chapter 62: True colors

"So where does this beast reside? Ghirodah?" Hades asked as they moved through the forest, heading toward a destination known only to the other three.

He was merely following along, letting them lead. They seemed to know the way.

"Ghirodah is a giant wolf," explained the male party member, Lary. "It's been hunting local traders—those who travel at night. So far, it's claimed over thirty lives. Still roaming free... No one's fast enough to keep up with it."

The forest was quiet, save for the occasional rustling in the underbrush and the distant hoots of nocturnal creatures.

It was the dead of night—perhaps the worst time to be wandering through the woods. But this was the only hour the beast was known to appear, and both teams were in a hurry to finish the quest.

"So, Hades... are you two here on a honeymoon?" Maria suddenly asked, a teasing grin curling on her lips.

She had been quiet until now, so Hades had mistakenly assumed she was the shy type.

He glanced at Luna, only to catch her quickly looking away. But the slight flush on her cheeks betrayed her.

He chuckled and replied, "If it were a honeymoon, I'd have taken her to the ocean. This is just a casual stroll."

Luna spun toward him with wide eyes, her face clearly saying, You remember?!

Hades offered a boyish grin. Of course, I do.

"Hoh~ that's quite thoughtful," Maria chimed in playfully.

Hades simply smiled and fell silent again.

Suddenly, Lary spoke up. "It's strange."

Hades raised an eyebrow. "What is?"

"We haven't come across a single beast. By now, we should've been attacked at least once."

[That's because you're unintentionally releasing your presence. You need to work on that.]

The voice inside Hades's mind casually answered Lary's question. But, of course, no one else could hear it.

Hades shrugged. "Maybe it's just our lucky day."

Olivia snickered, "Hope this luck doesn't keep us away from our target."

Hades didn't bother responding. He knew his presence wouldn't scare off a beast strong enough to warrant a bounty this high from the guild.

Silently, he walked—his left hand holding Luna's, while his right gripped the staff resting on his shoulder. After a moment, he asked the system in his mind,

'Tell me... once I hit the hundred mark in every stat, does it all reset to zero?'

{No, Host. Once you reach a hundred in all physical stats, the system will shift focus to recording chaos particles. These will aid in the growth of your core.}

'Chaos particles... what are those?'

A deeper voice answered this time,

[The more chaos you create—through battles, by slaying powerful beings, by toppling nations—the more chaos particles you'll absorb.]

'That sounds violent... and complicated.'

[It isn't. What's complicated... is you. Your hesitation. Your unwillingness to accept what you are—a beast. That's what's holding you back. And mark my words, it'll cost you one day.]

Hades rolled his eyes. Not this again.

"Hey..." Luna whispered, her voice barely above the wind. "...aren't we going a little too deep?"

Hades glanced around—and yes, they had wandered quite far.

Still, he replied calmly, "Do you feel it? The silence. No strong beasts nearby... That can only mean one thing—an apex predator rules this area."

It was a simple truth known to any seasoned adventurer. When a true hunter claims territory, all others either flee or come to challenge it. But not a single beast had shown itself for a while now.

Which meant only one thing.

"We're getting close," Hades murmured, more to himself than to anyone else.

Almost as if on cue, Lary raised his hand and turned to the group. "We're approaching its shelter. Stay sharp. And keep the noise to a minimum."

Hades gave a solid nod. He let go of Luna's hand and gripped his spear with both hands, readying himself.

Luna, too, lifted her hand. Her staff shimmered into existence with a soft glow.

"That is so cool," Maria whispered, her eyes sparkling as she watched the staff materialize out of thin air.

Luna gave a small, uncertain smile, unsure how to respond.

"Alright, team. Focus up," Lary said, his voice low but steady. "I'll lead. Olivia covers the rear. Hades, take the left flank. Maria, you're on the right. Keep the healer in the center."

Hades blinked in surprise at how precise the command was. This was their first quest together, and yet Lary spoke like someone who'd led a dozen parties before.

Still, he didn't question it. He silently took his place on the left, adjusting his grip on the spear as they moved into formation.

Slowly and steadily, they reached a clearing.

The thick canopy overhead opened up, revealing a vast circle of untouched land bathed in silver light. Moonlight cascaded down like a shimmering curtain, painting the entire glade in a cold, ethereal glow.

The air here felt heavier, yet sacred—so still that even the nocturnal sounds had faded away.

And in the center of it all...

A massive silver-furred wolf lay stretched across an elevated platform.

Its coat shimmered like liquid starlight, every hair reflecting the moon as if it had been woven from it. Muscles coiled beneath its fur even in rest, and its long tail flicked lazily, betraying that it was aware... and listening.

"Okay, let's flank him from both sides." Lary gave the command and Hades noticed that they had spread out suddenly.

Hades held his ground and stood before Luna, not understanding why Olivia gave away her position.

Just then, the wolf slowly opened its eyes—and turned to look at them.

**FLINCH**

A cold jolt shot through Hades.

Every single fiber of his being screamed.

**Dread.**

Those piercing red eyes locked onto him like spears, and in that moment... Hades knew.

He was standing before something beyond him. A predator at the very top.

His legs refused to move. His arms wouldn't lift. He was frozen.

"I-I can't move..." Luna's trembling voice broke the silence. She was caught in the same grip.

Hades clenched his jaw, willing his body to respond, to do something—but fear clung to his bones like chains.

He thought it couldn't get worse.

Until it did.

The three who had been walking beside them, smiling, talking, pretending... suddenly shifted.

Lary, Maria, and Olivia turned around—grinning. Their eyes were no longer warm. Just cold... and cruel.

'Bastards...' Hades thought, rage bubbling beneath the fear.

He knew they were going to betray them but never believed they would pick such a crucial time.

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC63: I am coming after you

Chapter 63: I am coming after you

Lary stepped toward him, casually now, as if greeting an old friend.

"Sorry, mate," he said with an apologetic tone that didn't match the moment. "We don't normally do this, but... times are hard. And if we don't feed this guy regularly, it starts looking at our town like a snack."

He reached to Hades's pouch, pulling it.

Hades's breath hitched.

That pouch didn't only have the last few coins but also the letter from Thalia.

"You... You'll regret this..." he growled through clenched teeth, still unable to move, body frozen in place like stone.

"Oh, yeah?" Lary scoffed—and stepped aside.

So Hades could see the beast rising.

The silver-furred wolf slowly stood. Its massive body stretched, muscles rippling under its luminous coat. Its red eyes locked on him and Luna—its chosen prey.

And just before it lunged—

SQUELCH

A blade sank into Hades's side. Lary whispered, "Just to be on the safe side."

Hades let out a guttural grunt, eyes wavering as blood soaked into his clothes.

On the other side, Maria had already snatched Luna's staff and coin pouch.

"Thanks for being dumb~" she mocked, hopping away like it was all a game.

Then Olivia appeared in front of Luna.

Her smile didn't reach her eyes.

"Ever since I saw you, there is something about you that annoyed me." With her eyes narrowed, she added, "Yes, it was your pretty face." she said flatly—and then drew a knife.

With terrifying calm, she dragged it down Luna's forehead, tracing a slow line across her brow and nose.

Slice...

A thin, sharp pain.

And then—blood. Warm and flowing.

Luna's eyes widened in horror as she felt it... saw it...

The crimson running down her face.

Her breath turned uneven. Her hands trembled.

Her mind snapped back to memories buried deep—of faces that laughed, of mirrors she couldn't look into, of voices that once told her she'd never be whole again.

"NOOOO!" she screamed, finally breaking free from the spell's hold, collapsing to her knees, clutching her face, sobbing uncontrollably.

Lary gave a quick signal.

And just like that—the three turned and ran, disappearing into the shadows.

The spell shattered around Hades too. And the moment it did, he stumbled forward, ignoring the pain in his side, and rushed to Luna.

"H-Hades..." she choked between sobs, her fingers trembling against her bloodied skin. "M-My face... I... my face..."

Her voice cracked.

She wasn't just crying.

Luna had deep emotional scars, no matter how well she pretended to have moved on. For her, staying well-groomed and beautiful wasn't just a girly habit—it was her way of escaping the painful memories she desperately wanted to forget.

But today, someone dragged her back to those dark times—those days when people looked at her like she was cursed, a disease to be avoided. Her scars had always been the reason she was abandoned, pushed aside her whole life. That's why, when Olivia slashed her face, Luna broke down and cried.

Hades held her close in his arms, trying his best to calm her. He understood what she must be going through.

Blood was dripping from his stomach. Lary had cut him deep—clean and severe—but right now, none of that mattered to him. All he cared about was Luna. He just wanted to ease her pain.

And while this was happening, the great wolf Ghirodah slowly moved toward them, its steps quiet and deliberate.

It knew its prey wasn't going to run. So, why hurry? And if they did try to escape, well—that would just make the hunt more thrilling.

"Luna... please, look at me," Hades urged gently, tilting her face toward him. "You said my opinion is the only one that matters—yet here you are, terrified of being hated again." His voice was calm, soothing, almost pleading.

Luna's face was a mess of blood and tears. Her hands trembled as she whispered, "But Hades... I'm ugly again. I can't stand beside you like this—with this face..."

"You're not ugly, Luna," he said firmly. "You're beautiful. I know you. I see you. And it's not like you can't heal these scars—you're just scared right now... overwhelmed."

He stopped mid-sentence.

A low growl rolled through the air like thunder across a graveyard. Hades turned sharply, his eyes locking onto the hulking figure of the wolf—Ghirodah.

In that moment, his irises thinned into slits. The very air around him shifted—heavy, suffocating, deadly. It wasn't just magic or presence—it was something deeper. An aura of primal fury and unwavering resolve that made the wolf freeze in its tracks.

Ghirodah, a predator born of blood and fang, felt something it had never known before.

Dread.

It was as if the creature before it wasn't prey—but a force. A storm that could not be bitten, clawed, or brought down. A presence that existed beyond pain... beyond death... beyond the wolf's understanding of power.

And for the first time, the beast hesitated—its breath caught, its muscles stiff, its instincts screaming to back away.

But then, it shook its head and jumped toward its prey.

Hades released Luna and turned to face the wolf.

The wolf parted its mouth, ready to chomp down on Hades's head, but the human moved underneath its maw, his hands glowing crimson and nails elongated like claws.

*KHATT*

The wolf clamped down on thin air, and in the next instance, something burning pressed against its hide.

"*AGHUOOO*" The wolf jumped away, its skin burning by Hades's crimson claws.

Hades growled as he moved toward the beast, his eyes burning with raw fury.

He wasn't just pissed at the beast which was trying to hunt them down but those three as well.

He believed only dragons are nasty creatures but how could he forget, humanity is no less than them. Or more like, when it comes to betraying others, humans could do it as naturally as breathing.

'Once I am done with this, I am going to find you and I am going to skin you alive. You are going to pay for every tear Luna shed. Just count your last breath...I am coming for you.'

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC64: Face your fears

Chapter 64: Face your fears

"How much?" Maria asked eagerly as Lary finished counting the coins from the pouch.

Lary scowled and tossed both the coins and the parchment aside. "Just ten damn coins. Seriously? They were flat-out broke."

Olivia groaned, shaking her own pouch. "This one's no better. A few rusty coppers. Shit, we risked our necks for pocket change."

They usually lured clueless tourists and rookie hunters to that hidden spot—then fed them to Ghirodah. The beast was a monster lurking in the forest, and their job—unofficial as it was—was to keep it fed. That was their excuse anyway.

The truth? They just wanted easy loot.

Plenty of townsfolk knew what they were doing. Even the guild master turned a blind eye. After all, as long as the beast stayed fed and deep in the woods, the town was safe.

But lately, things weren't going so well. The number of victims had gone down, and because of their reputation, no one wanted them on quests. Everyone knew they were scum—just no one said it out loud.

"Damn it. Should've at least fucked that woman. Might've made the whole mess worth something," Lary muttered, running a hand through his greasy hair.

Olivia laughed coldly. "Please. I smashed that pretty little face of hers. She was probably bawling like a lunatic before the mutt got her."

Maria chuckled, still holding the staff she'd taken from Luna. "Think this staff will sell for anything?"

Lary glared at the staff, then back at the forest. "It's better. Or next time, I'm gutting the target myself to check for hidden coin."

They weren't heroes. Not protectors. Just cowards hiding behind a beast's hunger—leeching off fear and pretending it was duty.

They trudged toward the city, muttering curses and sulking over their pathetic loot. Thoughts of what miserable scraps they could afford for dinner circled in their minds—until suddenly, a sharp shimmer pulsed from Maria's hand.

"Wh-What the hell?" she yelped, stumbling a step as the staff in her grasp began to hum with energy.

Buzzing.

Vibrating.

It glowed brighter and brighter, almost burning her skin. Before anyone could react, it blinked out of existence—vanished into thin air.

"The fuck?!" Maria gasped, eyes wide in disbelief, staring at her now-empty hand.

Olivia narrowed her eyes, tilting her head. "Maybe... it disappeared because its owner died? Like some kind of magical bond?" Her voice was casual, dismissive even, as if they hadn't just witnessed something supernatural.

But Lary's expression was anything but casual. His jaw tightened, and a dark look passed over his face. "No," he muttered, "It didn't die with her... it went back to her."

Maria flinched. "You mean—?"

"She's alive," Lary said firmly.

Olivia scoffed, waving a hand. "Don't be stupid. We left them broken and bleeding. That beast was starving—it would've torn through them like paper. You saw that girl, she could barely hold her weapon. They were just kids. No way they made it out."

But Lary didn't respond.

His silence said everything.

A cold wind brushed past them, and for the first time in a long while, a sliver of unease settled in their chests.

"We should leave—" Lary began to say, but the moment he turned around, his words died in his throat.

He froze.

And so did Olivia and Maria.

All three stood still, eyes wide, unable to move as they spotted the two figures standing ahead.

The boy's body was soaked in blood—not his own, but from the beast he had fought.

His red hair, once bright, was now matted with gore, painted in the remnants of a brutal battle.

His breathing was heavy, uneven... yet his posture didn't falter. On his back, he carried the silver-haired girl, holding her as if she weighed nothing.

But it wasn't the blood, or the injuries, or even the eerie silence that made their hearts race.

It was his eyes.

Those eyes burned with something wild—untamed fury that didn't need words to threaten them.

And in that moment, all three of them understood.

They had made a terrible mistake.

Olivia panicked. Her instincts screamed at her—they couldn't run, couldn't wait. They had to end this now.

"You're dead!" she snarled, her knives flashing in the dim light as she lunged straight at Hades.

He was strong, yes—but he was injured. Drained after fighting that monstrous wolf. And with that unconscious girl still slung across his back, he couldn't possibly react in time.

That's what she believed.

In a blur, she closed the distance, her blade aimed straight for his gut—

"Huh?!"

Her wrist was caught mid-thrust. Tight. Too tight.

Before she could process it, her own knife twisted in her grip with a sickening crunch—and then—

*SQUELCH.*

The blade pierced her chest, sliding in under her collarbone.

"...h-huh...?" Olivia choked, her eyes wide with shock.

He hadn't even moved. His expression was blank. Cold.

T-Then how...?

A low, feral growl rumbled from Hades' throat.

With no hesitation, he dragged the blade downward, tearing through skin, muscle, and ribs in one brutal motion.

"AAAAAAGHHHHH!!"

Her scream ripped through the forest as her body convulsed. Blood sprayed in violent bursts, splattering across the trees and his already blood-soaked figure.

But he didn't flinch.

His grip on her wrist was vice-like. No matter how she struggled, no matter how she shrieked, there was no escape.

Maria and Lary stood frozen, horrified. Eyes locked on the scene in disbelief.

Even after battling Ghirodah... he had this much power?

'W-Who the hell is this monster...?!'

Hades gripped Olivia by the throat and slammed her against a tree. Bark cracked and flaked under the force.

She coughed blood, chest heaving, limbs weak from blood loss.

He pinned both her arms above her head, holding them in place.

"I'll deal with you later," he said flatly—

Then, with zero warning, he rammed the knife through her palm and into the tree.

*THWACK.*

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Her shriek turned into a raw, broken wail as her entire body arched. Blood poured from her mangled hand, soaking the wood behind her.

Calmly, Hades reached up and tapped her bloodied cheek.

"Wait for me," he whispered, his voice low and dead of emotion. "I'll be back for you."

And with that, he turned away.

Her screams faded behind him as he continued walking forward—toward the other two.

Maria had long run away while Lary stood there holding his sword and looked ready to fight.

Hades grinned, his sharp canines peeking as he said, "That's like a man. No running away. Facing your fears."

Lary scoffed, "You think I am scared of you?"

Hades glanced at those trembling legs of the man before saying, "Well, we will soon find out."

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC65: Trade

Chapter 65: Trade

*Thud.*

The loud impact made the receptionist flinch. Her eyes darted to the counter—

And froze.

There, resting heavily on the polished wood, was the severed head of a giant wolf.

Not just any wolf—the infamous Beast that had haunted the surrounding woods for years.

Her breath caught in her throat as she slowly looked up at the person who brought it in.

And her fear only deepened.

Hades stood there, still soaked in blood. The dried crimson clung to his clothes, his hair, even his skin. No matter how much he tried to suppress it, a suffocating wave of killing intent clung to him like a second skin.

She instinctively stepped back.

"Y-You hunted it?" she asked, trying to steady her voice.

Hades gave a simple nod. "The rest of its body is in the clearing where it usually nests. You know the place."

The receptionist did. Everyone in the guild did.

As silence fell again, Hades took a moment to think. The guild likely knew about what Lary and his crew did—scamming new hunters, extorting travelers, even leading them into danger for coin.

Still... he didn't blame them. It was business, after all.

After a pause, the receptionist finally asked, "What happened to Lary and his party?"

Hades didn't hesitate.

"Dead. I killed them."

Then he added, as if correcting himself, "Actually, you won't find their bodies."

Her face turned ghostly white.

Around the hall, several guild members stirred. Hands reached for weapons. Chairs scraped quietly against the floor.

Friends of Lary?

Hades didn't even glance their way. His voice was calm, his tone flat.

"Anyone with a problem about me killing that pest and his roaches—wait for me outside. I'll finish my business here, then come answer your questions."

No one moved.

They had heard of his fight with the giant wolf. They could see the blood that wasn't his. And now they knew he had wiped out three experienced hunters as well.

The strength hidden behind that quiet voice was enough to silence the entire room.

One by one, everyone slowly returned to their seats.

Hades turned back to the receptionist and gave her a slight nod—urging her to complete the trade.

She quickly crouched down behind the counter, fumbling through the drawers.

A short while later, she placed a pouch of coins onto the desk. The clinking sound was crisp and final.

"Five thousand," she said. "An extra thousand for dealing with criminals."

Hades's brow arched slightly. 'Criminals, huh?' So that's what they were calling them.

He didn't question it further. Without a word, he took the pouch of gold and asked, "Do you have a potion that can heal scars?"

As he spoke, he tilted just enough to reveal the girl on his back.

Luna.

She was fast asleep, worn out from crying until her voice had faded. Her cheeks were still damp, but her expression was soft—finally at peace.

He had cleaned the blood from her face, yet the scar remained.

A thin, cruel line that stretched from her forehead, slicing through her brow and down to the edge of her lip. Faint, but visible. Permanent—if not treated now.

The receptionist winced when her eyes landed on the mark.

"It's still fresh," she said, voice softer now. "If you act quickly, two potions should be enough. Use one now, then the other in three hours."

Hades gave a small nod and reached for the vials. "How much?"

She hesitated for a moment. "Normally... I'd charge a thousand. But after what you've done for us, just give me two hundred."

Hades blinked. 'What have I done for them?' He didn't know what she meant—but he didn't ask.

Wordlessly, he placed two hundred coins on the counter, then turned and walked out.

As he made his way through the town, heads turned. People stared. Whispers followed him. His blood-soaked clothes, the beast's head, and the weight of his killing aura still clinging to him like smoke—they had all seen it.

But Hades didn't care.

His only focus was the girl on his back.

Luna.

That scar on her face... that quiet sobbing from earlier... it had cracked something deep inside him.

No matter how strong or cheerful she acted, she was still a girl haunted by the past. Still fragile. Still healing.

And seeing her like that had shattered his heart.

They reached the inn not long after. He opened the door gently and stepped inside.

With the care of someone holding something sacred, he placed Luna down on the bed. Her silver hair spilled across the pillow, her breathing light and steady.

Hades took one of the vials and eyed it carefully.

Just to be sure, he let a drop fall onto his own arm.

A soft warmth bloomed across his skin.

[It's a healing potion.]

The inner voice confirmed.

Hades exhaled softly.

He didn't trust anyone in this town. Not the guild, not the people watching him, not even the woman at the counter.

But this?

This he could trust.

And now... it was time to heal his Luna.

He slowly poured the potion onto her face.

A faint sizzle filled the room, the sound of flesh mending. The thin scar began to fade as a soft glow spread across her skin.

Luna frowned slightly in her sleep, but she didn't stir.

Hades continued, gently applying the remaining potion until the bottle was empty. Her face was almost back to how it once was—soft, serene—though faint traces of the scar still lingered.

"Three hours later," he murmured, placing the second vial safely on the bedside table. He adjusted her position, helping her lie comfortably, then pulled a sheet over her sleeping form.

"Rest well," he whispered.

"Where are you going..." her voice was barely audible, her eyes only half open as she caught his hand.

Hades sighed gently, brushing a hand through her silver hair.

"I'm not going anywhere," he said quietly. "Every time you wake up, I'll be right here."

A content hum left her lips as she drifted back into sleep.

Hades smiled faintly, his chest aching with warmth as he watched her settle.

There was a jug of water in the room. He hesitated.

He'd planned to head downstairs to clean up, but now... could he really leave her alone?

Of course not.

He peeled off his bloodied clothes, even his undergarments soaked through. Naked, save for his resolve, he began wiping away the blood and gore with a damp cloth.

It had been a long, grueling day.

But at least now, he understood something.

In this unforgiving world, the only things he could trust were his own two hands—and the girl resting behind him.

He glanced back at her peaceful figure.

'Now... let's see what awaits us in Samaran City.'

The Sage's reasons remained a mystery. But Hades had no path of his own. So for now, he would walk the one she had pointed out—for himself, and for Luna.

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC66: I love you

Chapter 66: I love you

The training field had long abandoned its name—this was no place for training anymore. It was a slaughterhouse carved into the earth.

The sky above was smothered in black clouds, thick and low, casting a grim shadow over the land. The air was heavy with the stench of blood, so dense it clung to the back of the throat, sickly sweet and metallic. Every breath was a struggle against nausea.

The ground, once firm and dry, was now soaked—dark red mud formed where blood mixed with dirt. Severed limbs lay scattered like fallen leaves, twitching with the last remnants of ether. Crushed helmets. Shattered blades. Burnt flags.

Entrails looped around broken spears, and bones jutted out from charred corpses like twisted white roots.

Dragons and men lay together in death—massive reptilian bodies with their wings torn and their scales pierced by jagged weapons. Some had their throats slashed open, others were missing half their skulls. The humans didn't fare better—bodies piled atop one another in grotesque mounds, eyes wide in death, mouths frozen mid-scream.

And at the very top of the highest pile, like a queen on a throne of carnage, sat a woman with crimson hair.

She wore no armor, yet not a single scratch marred her flawless skin. Humans and dragons alike had dared to step into her land—and now their broken, bloodied remains laid beneath her feet. A 'spar,' they had called it.

She leaned back slightly, her gaze drifting up toward the dark sky.

Despite being drenched in blood, there was no mistaking her beauty. Fierce and unyielding, she was the kind of woman whose charm only grew stronger with each battle, each passing year. Time hadn't dulled her; it had refined her into something far more dangerous—more alluring and more savage.

Just a few steps below, a maid stood frozen, her boots wet with blood. She had urgent news, yet even with all her training, she hesitated. One didn't simply approach a beast in human skin—especially not when she looked so displeased.

Still, the message she carried might brighten her lady's mood. She gathered her courage and stepped forward.

"My lady," she called gently.

The red-haired woman leapt down in an instant. In a blink, she was standing before her, eyes sharp, lips curled into the ghost of a smile.

"Tell me, Gracia," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "What news do you bring?"

The maid bowed slightly before speaking. "The heir was ambushed, my lady. A group of hunters betrayed him... left him to die before a massive mutt."

The redhead's eyes narrowed, not with concern, but anticipation.

"Tell me," she whispered, "he slaughtered them?"

Gracia let out a quiet sigh—her lady's faith in a boy she'd never even met was blind... and yet, absolutely justified.

"He did," the maid said. "He tore the mutt apart... and then he hunted down every last traitor. His growth was staggering. His draconic side—" she paused "—it stayed out for long. The hunger, the rage... it was primal. Raw."

The woman's breath caught. Her arms wrapped around herself, as if holding in something that threatened to spill over.

Hades had finally let go.

The thought of him losing control... of giving in to the hunt, the blood, the instinct—was ecstasy. It sent a shiver down her spine.

She smiled, crimson lips parting slightly.

"My wild little flame..." she whispered, her eyes gleaming. "You're finally waking up."

The maid added, "He is heading towards the Samran city as the Sage directed."

The lady's eyes turned cold at those words, "Samaran...huh. He would surely find more about himself there."

The maid asked, "Is there a problem with that, my lady?"

The redhead heaved an exasperated sigh, "It's nothing...just keep an eye on him." With her gaze hardening she added, "I don't want my child to dwell deep into his origin. I shall be the one who will tell him what he actually is."

The maid bowed, "As you command, my lady."

Hades's past was very complicated and something that might devastate him if not handled carefully. That's why the lady was worried about him visiting Samaran City.

After all, that place was once the home of a Primordial Dragon.

"Mm..." Luna let out a soft groan as her body stirred awake.

Her lashes fluttered open, the blurry world around her slowly sharpening into focus. The first thing her eyes landed on was a familiar figure.

It was Hades.

He was leaning back in a chair near the bed, fast asleep. His chest rose and fell with quiet, steady breaths. Peaceful. Unbothered. Somehow, even while resting, he looked strong—like danger tucked under calm skin.

She pushed herself up from the bed, wincing slightly at the stiffness in her muscles. A glance at the window told her it was still night—dark sky, faint moonlight.

'We didn't miss our trip... right?'

Her heart thumped with unease. If they'd overslept, the entire quest might go to waste. That couldn't happen—not after everything they'd gone through.

Her gaze drifted back to Hades. Still asleep.

She exhaled softly and tiptoed toward the table. Her throat was parched—dry like a desert. Not wanting to wake him, she moved carefully, pouring herself a glass of water.

The cool liquid slid down her throat like a balm.

And then, as she lowered the cup, something caught her attention.

Across the room, the mirror reflected her face.

She froze.

Her breath hitched.

Slowly, she stepped closer, staring into the glass.

Her fingers lifted—touched her cheek.

No scars.

Not a single trace of the marks that had once carved pain into her skin. The reminders of battles, of shame, of everything she'd once hated about herself... gone.

"The potion worked fine, no?"

Suddenly came the voice.

Luna hurriedly turned and found Hades approaching her.

Her shoulders slumped, eyes turned moist as she was hugged by him.

"How are you now?" He gently asked, rubbing her back.

Luna asked back in a whisper, "I...became a nuisance, no? Crying for my face when I should have been helping you."

Hades shook his head, "You never became a nuisance for me, Luna. You just showed me the part of you which you were desperately hiding from the world. And I am happy that I got to see that side of yours."

Luna slowly raised her face and looked into his eyes.

Utter honesty and relief.

She pressed her head against his chest before asking, "How can you tolerate this crybaby me?"

Hades wrapped his hand around her back before relaying, "Because I love you, Luna."

*Jolt*

She shivered at those words and looked up at him wide eyed.

Hades smiled in response before taking a light sip of her lips and relaying again, "I love you, Luna. Please never abandon me."

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC67: Need to know

Chapter 67: Need to know

"You two look pretty beat up," the elf said with a grin, eyeing the bruises on Hades.

The redhead scoffed. "Like you weren't expecting it."

He didn't believe for a second that Lary's little setup had gone unnoticed by the guild master. Maybe the elf hadn't told Lary about them—but a scam that big? There was no way it had happened behind his back.

"Well, you're the first ones to survive it. Congrats, I guess?" The elf shrugged, clearly not all that impressed.

Hades let out a quiet sigh and handed over a small pouch. "Two thousand. Count them."

The elf bounced the pouch lightly in his palm, listening to the weight, then gave a nod. "All good. Wait here—I'll come get you in a bit." With that, he turned and left the office, the door clicking shut behind him.

The room fell into a brief silence.

"Want some water?" Hades asked, leaning forward to grab the jug and a glass.

Luna shook her head, watching as he poured a glass for himself and took a sip.

Once he settled back into his seat, she hesitated for a moment before finally asking, her voice quiet, "So... what are we now?"

They hadn't really talked about it since he'd told her how he felt. The moment had been rushed—confessions exchanged right before they had to leave to make it here on time. There'd been no space for anything more.

But the question had lingered in her heart ever since.

Now that he'd said he had feelings for her too... what did that mean for them?

Were they still trying to figure things out?

Or... were they already something more?

A couple, maybe?

She didn't know. But she wanted to.

And she was finally brave enough to ask.

Hades sighed and finished the last sip of water before placing the glass down. He looked at her, not with hesitation, but with a certain weight behind his eyes.

"There are a few things you should know," he said gently, "before you decide whether you see a future with me or not."

Luna wanted to speak.

No matter what it is, I still want to stay with you—the words trembled at the tip of her tongue.

But she stopped herself.

She could tell this was important to him.

So instead, she remained silent, giving him her full attention.

Hades reached out and took her hand in his. His touch was warm, his thumb slowly brushing over her skin with a quiet tenderness.

"I'm not the kind of man who asks for much," he said softly. "I don't need grand gestures or constant attention. I just want loyalty. That's all. If I have that... I can give all the love I have to give."

Luna felt her heart squeeze at those words.

She knew exactly where that came from.

Kayla.

The girl he had once loved so dearly... the one who had taken his heart and shattered it without remorse. Luna had seen how much he adored her—how much trust he had placed in her—and how cruelly it had been betrayed.

She could never forgive Kayla for that. For leaving scars on the man who still held himself together like nothing had ever broken him.

So it made sense. For someone like Hades, loyalty wasn't just a request.

It was a need. A wound he was still healing from.

And Luna? She didn't even need to think.

The idea of betraying him was so far removed from her nature, it almost felt insulting to even consider the possibility.

She had already offered him everything—her thoughts, her body, her soul.

Every part of her was his.

She would burn before she hurt him like that.

And so, with quiet certainty in her heart, she smiled softly and gave his hand a gentle squeeze.

She didn't need to say the words just yet.

Her heart had already made the vow.

"However, Luna..." Hades paused, his voice quieter now, a heaviness settling over his words.

"...in return, I can't promise you my utmost loyalty."

Her heart dropped.

Just like that, those few words made it hard to breathe.

It felt like the floor had shifted beneath her feet.

But Hades didn't sugarcoat it.

Didn't look away.

Didn't pretend.

Because if they were to begin something real... then she deserved the full truth, no matter how cruel it sounded.

"In order to awaken my dragon core," he began, his gaze fixed on her, "I have to form a bond with a female dragon. I must take her as my mate. That's the only way."

He let the words sink in before continuing, quieter now.

"If I don't do it, my core will never awaken. And without that power, I'll be vulnerable. Eventually... there are beings—powerful ones—who will come for me. And I won't be able to stop them."

His shoulders slumped slightly as the burden finally left his lips. "That's why I'm telling you this now. Because whether I want it or not, there will be another woman in my life one day. It's inevitable, Luna."

His fingers tightened just a little around hers, as if he was afraid she'd pull away.

Then, looking straight into her eyes, he added softly, "You deserve to know. You deserve to choose... before we take another step forward."

Luna remained silent.

Five seconds passed.

Then ten.

To Hades, they felt like hours.

His grip on her hand stayed, but a dull ache spread in his chest.

He didn't want to lose her.

But he wouldn't force himself into her life either.

He knew—not everyone can accept sharing the person they love.

And he hated himself for even asking that of her.

Because if the roles were reversed—if Luna ever told him she needed to be with someone else while being with him—he wouldn't hesitate to say no. He couldn't do it.

So yes, at this moment, he was being a hypocrite.

A selfish one.

But he couldn't help it.

This was who he was.

Finally, Luna spoke. Her voice was calm, but each word carried the weight of her heart.

"Tell me something, Hades..."

"...after you get your mate, will I matter less to you? Will my place in your life fade?"

His answer came instantly. His voice steady, his eyes unwavering.

"Never, Luna. Not in this life or the next."

He leaned forward, speaking with a sincerity that left no room for doubt.

"No one can replace you. You are—and always will be—my first. My heart knew love because of you. That can't be undone. You're not someone I can set aside. You're not... temporary."

And he meant every word.

No dragon, no fate, no power could change what Luna meant to him.

She was the first warmth that entered his life—and that first light never fades.

Luna sighed before leaning her head on his shoulder and telling him, "I will cry pretty hard if you forget about me, okay? So take responsibility and never leave me."

Hades was stunned...did she really accept him?

He couldn't rejoice the moment for long before the elf entered the room and told them, "Come on, it's time."

REAWAKENING: PRIMORDIAL DRAGON WITH LIMITLESS MANAC68: Nearly caught

Chapter 68: Nearly caught

"How's it going in there, mate?" the elf asked with a cheeky grin, lifting the edge of the cover that concealed Hades and Luna inside the cart.

Hades let out a grumble. "Barely surviving. Can you tell the driver to stop hitting every damn rock? It hurts."

They were being smuggled across the border, hidden in a cart filled with seeds and nuts. Comfort was a luxury they couldn't afford—not with how illegal this trip was—and it didn't help that the driver seemed to be going out of his way to make the ride as jarring as possible.

The elf chuckled. "Just hold tight. Half an hour more and you'll be free as a bird." He lowered the cover again.

Darkness returned. Hades exhaled a weary sigh and glanced at Luna beside him. She had her knees tucked close, body curled like his, leaning gently against his side.

"You alright? Need more room?" he asked, though they both knew there was barely an inch left to shift. Still, if she needed it, he'd figure something out.

"I'm good," she replied with a soft smile. "I'm flexible, so this is nothing."

Unlike her, Hades was clearly suffering. Not just from the cramped space but from the lingering aches of his earlier fight against the giant wolf. Lary had stabbed him, and the beast had clawed him up pretty badly. Though he'd mostly healed with no lasting wounds, some cramps and phantom pain still lingered.

"Think we'll get caught?" Luna asked suddenly, breaking the silence.

Hades gave her a tired look and cracked a dry smile. "Please don't jinx it. I just want to reach Samaran without any more drama."

Luna giggled at his exasperation, clearly amused.

The cart rolled on in heavy silence, its wheels creaking faintly as it trundled deeper into the forest. Overhead, the canopy swayed gently with the breeze, filtering the sunlight into shifting patterns across the path.

Their destination was the border.

According to the guild master, he had a connection among the border patrol. If all went well, they would pass through without issue.

But if things went sideways... he had given them strict instructions.

"Create a distraction," he'd said. "Cause enough chaos, and bolt for the other side."

Apparently, the elven border force was so undermanned that they wouldn't have the time or resources to chase fugitives for long. One way or another, the plan would work. Luna and Hades would make it across.

Inside the cart, Luna reached into her pouch and pulled out a small packet of raisins, offering it to Hades.

He gave a quiet nod of thanks and took a few. The two sat side by side, chewing the sweet dried fruits in silence.

Then, the cart came to a halt.

Hades tensed.

He rose slowly and pulled the curtain aside by just an inch, peeking through.

"What is it?" Luna asked in a hushed tone, careful not to shift her position too much.

"There are soldiers..." he whispered, eyes scanning the scene outside. "They're checking the other carts."

His gaze swept past one uniformed elf... then another...

And then—

His eyes locked with a soldier standing at the rear of the checkpoint. The elf wasn't just surveying the area—he was staring directly at Hades.

Their eyes met.

Only for a heartbeat.

But it was enough.

Hades immediately pulled back, his breath caught in his throat. His body recoiled as if burned.

Luna's voice was urgent, barely a whisper. "W-What happened?"

He held up a finger to his lips, silencing her as the pounding in his chest grew louder.

Something wasn't right.

That soldier had looked at him like he knew.

Like he had been waiting.

They heard footsteps nearing the cart.

Luna instinctively held her breath, her fingers tightening slightly around Hades's sleeve.

A second passed. Then another.

The sound was getting louder. Closer.

Then—

A hand gripped the cover.

Just before it could be lifted, a familiar voice rang out from outside.

"Oi, mate! Your senior's been lookin' for you," the guild master called out casually.

For a moment, the hand retreated, and both Luna and Hades thought they were safe—

Until—

*Rustle*

The cover was thrown open.

The soldier's eyes widened in shock as they locked onto the two hidden figures inside.

Time froze.

Then—

*Dhak!*

The guild master struck him from behind. The soldier's eyes rolled back before he collapsed on the side of the cart with a dull thud.

Hades's breath hitched. He pulled the cover back over them in haste, hiding them once more in the dark.

Muffled voices followed. The guild master was arguing with someone outside, his tone laced with irritation.

Neither Luna nor Hades moved.

Hades kept her close, his arms protectively wrapped around her as they huddled in silence.

Then—

*Trudge...*

The cart began to roll forward again.

Only when they felt the wheels moving beneath them did they dare to exhale.

Relief, fragile and trembling, finally returned to their lungs.

"Haah... we survived," Hades exhaled, finally able to relax as the cart rolled on without interruption.

Luna reached for the water, took a few quiet sips, then passed the container to him. Hades accepted it and drank, the coolness calming his nerves more than he expected.

Their journey continued for another half hour before the cart gradually came to a halt.

*Rustle*

The cover was yanked open—and there stood the sharp-eyed guild master, arms crossed and a familiar mix of irritation and amusement on his face.

With his hands on his hips, he asked dryly, "Which genius thought it was a good idea to enjoy the scenery right in the middle of an inspection?"

Hades offered a sheepish smile as he climbed out of the cart. "Ahah~ I got a little curious. Hope that didn't cost you too much."

"Only five hundred gold coins," the guild master replied, as if commenting on the weather. "You're lucky I handled the situation before that soldier could scream. If he had, the whole thing would've blown up."

His voice lowered slightly, more serious now.

"The border chief isn't involved in this little smuggling arrangement. If that soldier had raised the alarm, things would've gone straight to hell."

He paused.

"Best case, you'd end up in a cell. Worst case..."

His gaze sharpened.

"Blood."

Luna took a deep breath and, with Hades's help, stepped out of the cart.

Hades turned to the elf, patting his shoulder with sincere gratitude.

"Thanks for getting us through safely."

The elf swatted his hand away. "Tch. Find your own way back. And don't you dare speak my name."

Hades chuckled. "But I don't even know your name."

The elf grinned. "Excellent. Let's keep it that way."

He turned and walked away without looking back.

" Let's never meet again."
