Chapter 34 - After The Storm

Peace settled over the land like a warm blanket after a bitter winter. The air, once thick with the scent of blood and war, now carried the smell of freshly turned soil and pine-scented rain. The battle had ended, but the healing had just begun.

At the heart of the pack territory, the once-damaged gathering grounds were slowly coming back to life. Wolves worked side by side, rebuilding homes, clearing rubble, and planting new roots. The scars of war were visible—but so was the strength in every nail hammered, every hand extended, and every story shared around the fire.

Nyla stood in the middle of the village square, watching a group of pups play near the fountain, their laughter echoing through the trees. Her eyes, once shadowed with fear and confusion, now shimmered with purpose. She had found not just a mate—but a people, a family, a home.

Damon approached quietly, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. "They're smiling again," he said softly.

She leaned into him. "They deserve to."

The wounded were being cared for in the healer's hut, where Nyla visited daily, helping those still recovering. Miracle, having confessed her betrayal, had been given a second chance. She worked tirelessly in the infirmary, not as punishment—but as penance. Slowly, trust began to grow again.

The once-divided factions—Damon's original pack, the hidden wolves, and even former Karl followers—now sat together during council meetings. It wasn't perfect, but it was progress.

Alpha Damon, strong and just, led with wisdom. Luna Nyla, fierce yet compassionate, was his equal in every sense. Her voice was no longer questioned; it was sought after.

One evening, they hosted a bonfire under the stars. Stories were shared—of old times, of lost ones, of brave warriors who would never return. But there was laughter too, music, and even dancing. Life was returning.

Nyla smiled, squeezing Damon's hand.

And under the moonlight, with hearts mending and hope rising, the packs healed. Together. One step at a time.
