Chapter 12 - season 2 episode 2

Season 2, Episode 2: "Ghost Protocol"

SCENE 1: FLASHBACK — THE NIGHT EVERYTHING FELL

Dark skies, sirens wailing. Ash falling like snow.

The forest outside the facility was burning. Explosions rippled in the distance. The Season 1 finale had left the group scattered—separated during the chaos of an invasion none of them saw coming.

Rael was dragging Mira, barely conscious, her leg bleeding. Zeke was yelling through the smoke. Kai had vanished. There was a sound like a jet engine—then silence.

Then white lights.

Then... nothing.

Rael had blacked out.

Now he knew why: Dominion had taken them all—wiped pieces of their memories clean.

SCENE 2: WHISPERS IN THE WALLS

Back in the present, Rael sat in his chamber, staring at his own reflection through the glass wall. He was changing. He could feel it—his pulse had a new rhythm, and the voice in his head had stopped whispering.

Now it screamed.

"Find her. Find Subject 14. She's still alive."

He'd seen Mira listed as terminated… but the voice kept insisting she wasn't. That it was a lie.

And lies were Dominion's specialty.

SCENE 3: THE RESISTANCE CELL

Nova was taken to a different sector for "rehabilitation training." Instead of labs, she was escorted into a shadowy sublevel—a place even the guards seemed hesitant to enter.

There, deep beneath the compound, she met them.

The Resistance.

A small group of rogue subjects who had faked their compliance, wearing the grey armbands but plotting in silence. They called themselves The Nulls.

"We live in the power drains. The dead zones," said a girl with cybernetic eyes named Echo. "Where Dominion can't track our minds."

Nova looked at them, skeptical.

"Why me?"

"Because you're broken," Echo replied. "And broken people can't be reprogrammed."

Nova smiled bitterly. "You think I'm broken? You have no idea."

SCENE 4: THE GLITCH FILE

Meanwhile, Rael hacked deeper into the system using stolen access codes.

He found a restricted file labeled "PROJECT: SHADOW MAP" — and inside it, dozens of blinking red lights on a global map. Each light marked an active power signature… and half were near-dead zones.

Dominion wasn't saving the world.

They were tracking people like him. Hunting them. Studying them. Replacing them.

Some of the subjects… were clones. Others, resurrected from neural backups.

And Subject 14, Mira… her file had been edited. Timestamped just one week ago.

She was alive.

SCENE 5: CONFRONTATION

Rael confronted Amira—still eerily calm, still loyal to Dominion.

"You knew," he said. "About the cloning. The experiments. You knew and you still… let them take us."

She didn't flinch.

"I didn't let them. I made a deal."

Rael's jaw tightened.

"You sold us out."

"No," she whispered. "I saved you. The world outside is worse. You'll see."

Suddenly, she grabbed his wrist. "They're listening. They know you've been in the Archive."

Rael pulled back. "Then let them come."

SCENE 6: ESCAPE ATTEMPT

With help from the Nulls, Nova triggered a false fire alarm in the lower quadrant. Sirens wailed. Lights flickered. For one moment, the cameras went dark.

Rael took his chance.

He ran. Through access doors, down into the facility's old maintenance shafts. Blood rushing in his ears. The voice guiding him like a compass.

"Left. Down. Hallway seven."

He reached a sealed door. Behind it—a chamber with cryo-pods. Old. Forgotten.

Some shattered. One still sealed… Mira's name blinking red.

"Override access needed."

He slammed his fist against the control. No use.

Then—Amira appeared behind him. Not angry. Just… sad.

"I told you. Some doors are better left closed."

Rael turned. "She's alive."

Amira whispered: "No. What's inside that pod isn't her anymore."

Then she pulled a device from her coat.

"And now… neither are you."

Click.

A sonic pulse hit Rael's head like a lightning strike. His vision exploded into static. Then—darkness.
