Chapter 11 - season 2 episode 1

Season 2, Episode 1: "Sanctum Lies"

SCENE 1: THE WHITE ROOM

A humming sound. Low, constant. Like something mechanical breathing.

Rael's eyes fluttered open to the blinding white glow of a sterile ceiling. The air smelled too clean—like bleach and static.

He tried to sit up—his arms felt heavy. Like his own body didn't belong to him. His fingers trembled as they curled into his palm. He wasn't wearing his usual torn black hoodie. Instead, a grey suit with a blue armband. "Subject: 027-R"

What the hell?

Across from him, lying unconscious on another bed, was Kai. Strapped down. Electrodes clung to his temples. Monitors beeped quietly beside him, logging vitals.

Panic surged.

"Hey!" Rael rasped. "Hey, wake up!"

His voice cracked from dehydration. A hiss of air vented from the corner of the room, and a shadow passed by the one-way mirror. He wasn't alone.

Suddenly, a voice—smooth, calculated—echoed from above.

"Good morning, Subject 027. You've survived Trial Phase One. Cognitive reset is 86% complete. Please remain calm. Your transition into Dominion Sanctuary has begun."

Rael's jaw clenched. "Dominion?" he muttered. His head throbbed. Memories

flickered—running through fire… screams… someone being dragged away… his own voice breaking as someone called his name.

Who?

SCENE 2: DOMINION ORIENTATION

Later, Rael and the others were ushered through a glass corridor. Guards in silver armor with face-obscuring visors flanked them. The compound was massive—clinical white walls, endless labs, motion-activated doors, surveillance everywhere.

Among the group:

Kai, still quiet, haunted eyes darting side to side.

Nova, limping slightly, bruises blooming under her pale skin.

Zeke, suspicious, always watching the

guards.

Amira, oddly calm. Too calm.

They were taken into an amphitheater-like hall, where a woman stood under spotlight. Short black hair, eyes like obsidian glass. She wore no uniform—just a long white coat and a pendant shaped like a spiral sun.

"Welcome to Dominion Sanctuary," she said, voice melodic but cold. "You are the survivors of the chaos outside. You are special. You are chosen."

Rael narrowed his eyes. "We didn't choose any of this."

She smiled. "No. But your genes did."

Behind her, holograms lit up. Scans of their

bodies. Brainwaves. Power signatures.

"You are the next evolution of this dying world," she continued. "And here… you will be trained, monitored, protected."

"More like imprisoned," Zeke snapped.

Two guards stepped forward.

"Let him speak," the woman said. "Adjustment will take time."

Then she walked up to Rael.

"You, Subject 027… your neural resistance is unusually high. You heard the voices, didn't you?"

Rael froze.

How did she know?

SCENE 3: THE VOICE

That night, in the dormitory, Rael couldn't sleep.

Everyone else was already locked in their personal chambers—glass walls, cameras, soft white noise to "help you relax," they said.

But he kept hearing it.

"You're not safe here, Rael. They're watching your thoughts."

It wasn't like a voice in his head. It had weight. Presence. And it knew his name.

He slammed his fists against the glass. "Who are you?! What do you want?!"

A flash of light.

Static.

Then a surge of pain behind his eyes. Rael dropped to his knees, gasping. And the voice came again—clearer this time.

"They tried to erase me. But I'm still here. Inside you. I was Subject Zero."

Rael's breathing slowed. The static receded. Silence returned.

But his hands were shaking.

SCENE 4: SHADOW IN THE LAB

Meanwhile, in the lower levels, Nova had been taken for "further testing." Alone, she sat on a metal table as a machine hovered above her skull.

Dr. Myles—the woman from earlier—watched through the glass.

"Subject 009 has latent telekinetic pathways," one technician noted. "But something's blocking it."

"Trauma," Myles replied. "Let's break it."

With a nod, the tech initiated the pulse sequence.

Nova screamed. Her back arched violently as light surged through her body. Objects in the lab began to shake—glass shattering, lights flickering. Then suddenly—boom. The door blew open.

She collapsed, blood trickling from her nose.

But her power had awakened.

SCENE 5: CONNECTIONS

The next day, Rael and Kai were assigned to "Integration Duty"—organizing files in an old tech wing. Dominion guards watched their every move.

Rael leaned close.

"Do you remember what happened before we got here?"

Kai didn't answer at first. Then slowly, "I remember screaming. And fire. And… they took her."

"Who?"

"…Mira."

Rael's stomach dropped. Mira was still out there? Or worse… already one of them?

Suddenly, Kai looked up, eyes wide.

"They're testing us like lab rats. Something's coming. We're all gonna—"

Before he could finish, a sharp hiss from the wall. Gas vented. Rael tried to cover his mouth—but Kai was already slumping, unconscious again.

The guards said nothing.

SCENE 6: ENDING — THE ARCHIVE ROOM

That night, Rael broke into the archive room—following a trail of glitched security paths and the whispers of the voice.

He found a holographic log file titled: PROJECT EXODUS: Subject Zero

He opened it.

What he saw made his blood freeze.

Footage: A boy, younger than Rael, strapped to a table. Screaming. Implanted with something. Then—his body erupted in light… and disappeared.

"They killed me," the voice whispered. "But I lived through the neural imprint. In you."

The final image: a list of subjects.

Half were listed as "Active."

The other half?

"Terminated."

Rael scrolled.

Mira's name…

Terminated.
