"I lost."
At the battle of Ragnarok
I am one of the third party, which Ragnarok originally was between gods and mortals.
We, the third party, joined the battle for another reason.
Mortals who want to survive this calamity
Gods who want to erase the mortals and rebirth the world
And we, the "liberators," a group of mortals and gods alike
We liberators are free from confinement, oppression, or limitations.
But to truly achieve true freedom, we need to destroy fate, which is why the Ragnarok started.
The "primordial stone" is the thing that started Ragnarok with a mortal finding it and using it to gain power, which caused the great shake of the world.
That almost destroyed the world's foundation; hence, the reason the gods wanted the world's rebirth.
But to do that, the mortals need to be killed.
But the mortals didn't accept it and even started a rebellion.
And this started Ragnarok with the stake of gods and mortals alike.
And also the moment the small group was created
A group with no relationship to each other is not built on trust but on ideals.
We only need true freedom.
Freedom to choose when to die
Freedom to live whenever you want
Freedom to control life however you want
That's our goal: "Freedom."
…
And "I lost" against the battle with Poseidon, the ruler of the sea, and Zhou Yin Fan, the divine sword of the mortals.
I was strong, but my ego made me lost.
I was on par with them, but unlike them, who never underestimated me, I underestimated them.
"It's my loss," after accepting that my body started to fade.
In the battleground of Ragnarok, whoever loses gets their existence erased, but as it's a battle of honor, the memories of greatness remain.
And I fray the Freedom of Light lost
This is how my story ends…
Well, that's what's supposed to happen.
"But what is this…"
The world looked like time was stopped, which is quite impossible unless you're Kronos, who already was killed.
(Regression—regress to the past, which is the starting point of your life, and change fate) S+
(Reincarnate—reincarnate to the future in the new world after Ragnarok) SS+
(Resurrection—resurrect in the arena with wounds all healed) SSS+
(Die—be erased from the world) EX
"What is this?" I was confused; the world is already strange enough, but this is stranger.
'You, the one who chases freedom, are given the freedom to choose from these 4 options.'
"What? So like those fantasy stories like regressors? But in my case I get to choose?" As a lover of fantasy stories, I kind of know all of this, so I wasn't that confused but was excited instead.
'Yes, you're given a choice, and whatever you choose will be given a reward to its level.'
"Ok," looking at the choices, the best choice is regression.
But it's only S+, but the other 3 are way worse.
Reincarnation is great, but after Ragnarok, it would be pointless; mortals would be back at square 1, not even knowing how to light a fire, so reincarnating there is bad.
Resurrection is great, but after getting resurrected, the gods and mortals alike would think I'm blessed by fate to be back after being killed in the plane of erasure.
And the fourth option is basically to give up, but the rank is EX, and most stories had EX as the best rank, so I don't really know.
'Chosen one, it's best to choose what you want, not what's the best. Aren't you chasing freedom? But why are you bound by benefits'
Hearing the unknown entity's words, Frey realized that he was thinking like the gods and mortals but not himself.
Why choose by benefits when his head says regression?
Freedom is not a choice but an action.
After realizing that Frey chose regression,
"I choose regression, unknown entity."
'very well'
As the unknown entities said, Frey saw the world crumble as his body lit up.
…
In the blank world, Frey stared blankly at the white world; it's like an empty paper.
But one thing was clear: a system appeared in front of him.
"Rewards: to be free"
To be free: are freedom base on choice or based on his actions and talents? Hard work? Brains? To be free means not bound by those simple words. If you want to be talented, be talented; if you want to be smart, then be smart (SSS+).
…
After finishing looking at the rewards, the system lights up again, and the words change from "rewards" to "regression."
"Regression"
