4Chapter 2

Brockton Bay had far to many villains for Aleister's taste, the Empire Eighty-Eight and The Azn Bad Boys being the most famous. Despite how bothersome they were, the Merchants weren't a large or dangerous gang, which made it all the more stupid the PRT hadn't dealt with them. He knew they could, and could only theorize why the Merchants hadn't been wiped out, maybe they didn't want the Empire or ABB to take over the territory?

There were minor villains as well, Coil who he could find barley anything on, likely someone trying to lay low because his powers weren't that impressive. Uber and Leet who... He wasn't sure about, they seemed to be fools who just played with their powers like toys, recreating video-games in real life only for things to fall apart, he did make a note on them however.

There were rumors of a group called the Undersiders, a group of thieves who ran whenever they ran into trouble. Thieves could be useful, but Aleister desired to be a king, an emperor. He had no time to waste on foolish rats wandering about for scraps.

He couldn't target the ABB or Empire, even with Lung temporally captured the ABB had dozens of members and that crazed bomber, Oni Lee. While the Empire had dozens of capes, far to many for him to deal with alone without increasing his powers or gaining his own minions. His mind wandered to something he'd gained knowledge of, the Servant summoning ritual.

Aleister frowned, he could put research into that later. Servants required a lot of mana and he doubted his own supplies were that large. He moved to his other notes, this time on the heroes.

It was... Disappointment, no pathetic would be the better term. The PRT was a mess, they couldn't even use real bullets, only containment foam, leading to dozens of deaths. The capes were no better, Miss Miltia didn't use any truly destructive weapons, Armsmaster despite being a Tinker was worthless, and the rest ether limited themselves or were useless.

The Wards were a bit more interesting, or rather one of them was. Vista had been a Ward for years, yet as he checked over her profile it was mostly PR events. Yet when she was allowed to go out and patrol, she was one of the most effective at the job. The ability to warp space was impressive and one he'd have to make note to avoid, he had no idea how it'd work with his own space warping abilities, better to not find out.

There was also New Wave, an idiotic family run cape group. Revealing your identity to the public? What did they think this was, Marvel comics? A public identity risked being attacked in civilian mode, or someone close to you being attacked. And as he read about what happened to Fleur, he could only shake his head in disappointment. What did they expect to happen when they revealed their true identities, that they wouldn't be attacked in their sleep? Idiots, the lot of them.

That was about it for all the heroes and villains he could find, but Aleister wouldn't be surprised if there was more hidden from the public. He hadn't even bothered checking the rogues in the city, he had a certain level of respect for those who ignored the silly cops and robbers game the rest of cape cultured played.

Merged research fighting and get exercise.

Aleister threw a punch, and then leaned to the side to deliver a kick to the air. But he frowned, the combo executed wrong again. In his childhood he had learned some martial arts from his father, but to his shame in recent years he had let sloth consume him.

He looked over his room, he had managed to clear out an area for some basic training but he cursed the fact his home was so small. He'd need to look into getting some type of base, perhaps he could take over the Merchants territory once he dealt with them? But depending how he presented himself the PRT could leap to take him down before he could truly get any work done.

Aleister was not someone who enjoyed waiting and hiding in the corners, and his lack of any direct combat ability was frustrating. Even his magecraft was devoted towards avoiding things and crafting, something he wasn't again but he much preferred the option of punching someone in the face. Wasn't there some type of, Reinforcement spell? Yes, he'd have to look into that.

After drinking some water, he got back into his training. He'd not survive long if he couldn't even do some basic training.

Skill gained!

- Combat 5%

Parameter gained!

Physical - 5%

Decided since Aleister's father was ex-military and Brockton Bay being well Brockton Bay, that he'd be taught some basic fighting skills and physical conditioning. But its only low because Aleister lacks any directly combat focused abilities yet.

Magecraft was fascinating, Aleister would admit to anyone who asked. The act of creating mysteries was wonderful, and the fact his world lacked an Alaya or Gaia to limit him? Yes, he was going to go far.

He watched as the trash bin swapped place with his sofa, feeling a bit of sweat go down his skull. Swapping larger items was certainly possible, but it was more difficult then swapping a toaster about, and the larger range he went the more difficult it became. With a wave of his hand, the room restored itself to normal.

Not to mention, swapping items was a lot easier then something moving and living, not that he'd managed to test that yet. He couldn't just find a bunch of rats to test on, they were to small to give proper results and he was sure someone would notice him buying dozens of large dogs. He had no desire for a visit from some animal care group, or even worst the PRT.

Aleister sighed, he needed to improve fast and yet he was being limited by his own home and supplies. He wasn't afraid of kidnapping some homeless for experiments, but he wasn't sure he was ready to cross that line yet. He was controlling and had plans to conquer the bay, but human experimentation felt like he'd be going over a final line he couldn't turn back from.

He'd have to think carefully of what he did in the future.

Spell improved!

- Flash Air (Allows the user to swap medium sized items about, even able to use the air around them to swap items about).

"Thank you for shopping with us!". The plastic smile of the cashier was returned with an equally fake smile as Aleister walked out of the store with a large bag. He had been rather lucky in his shopping for supplies.

Some good leather, clothe, and everything he'd need for a basic costume. It wouldn't hold up against a bullet or anything, but it'd hopefully soften some punches. He couldn't afford the more durable supplies or armor, if someone was seen shopping for armor and then a few days later a new cape showed up? The connection would be obvious.

As he arrived home, Aleister began to think. He wanted to rule yes, but how exactly did he go about that? Did he try going for the image of a benevolent tyrant? A conquering warlord? Rule with fear? He had no idea. If he was more powerful he could simply demand things and others would have to obey, but right now he needed to play the planning game.

He looked over his home, and quickly began hiding away the newly brought shopping. If his family visited he didn't want any awkward questions.

Do remember you can also suggest actions for Aleister to do and if they make sense, they'll be added to the next action voting even if you don't win (This totally isn't because I'm not sure how to push Aleister forward, totally).
