Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Stacy's POV

I slowly blinked open my eyes, trying to accustom it to the surroundings. The brightness of my room told me it was morning, but for some reason, I didn't want to stand up.

"Mmm…" I mumbled, turning over as I used the pillow to cover my face to prevent the light from hitting my eyelids, but then it was over.

I groaned again. It was probably impossible to go back to sleep now that I had already woken up.

"Kai Denvort…" I hummed, and then tried my best to smile as I thought about it.

The name I had just called belonged to be beloved, and I usually daydreamed about him, but today was different. I saw him in my dream, and we were getting married.

"Ahhh!!!" I stretched in excitement, covering my mouth afterwards. Well, it wasn't like anyone was there to scold me. Besides, I was to be Kai's wife soon enough.

"You shouldn't get all happy. What if he doesn't act like you, huh?" My wolf asked, and at that moment there was a frown on my face.

I was smiling just now before she made that comment, and she was always fond of doing that.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I don't really give a damn about whatever was going on? I really don't care at this point. You should better lay low," I warned, but she continued to enlighten me.

"Listen..you're choosing love. I don't know what you call it, but I'm going to call it that, over faith. You're just obsessed and–" before she could complete the statement, I shut her out completely.

She was always trying to ruin the fun. Immediately I pushed her aside, I noticed how my frown slowly started to grow into a smile again, and this time, I relaxed my back at the head of the bed with my pillow drawn to my chest.

My marriage to him was supposed to be something that was a means to make an alliance with the pack, and also strength unions and past loyalties. It was for a good reason, and if the pack members were okay with it, then I was very much happy with it.

But I had some personal reasons for being happy about it. The first and most important reason to me was the fact that I was going to become a Luna. I had been looking forward to that, daydreaming about how maids were going to be at my beck, and call. Dreaming about how I was going to be respected by everyone.

My cheek was hurting, but I just couldn't stop smiling.

"You're almost there Stacy. Afterall there's a lot of reason. You have been invited to your future home."

I pressed my lips, unable to contain myself as I recalled how I was given the invite. I recalled someone handing the letter, and how I read through it as fast as I could, especially when I realized it was from Kai.

"Well, there's still time, but I need to get prepared. Maybe some skin treatment ahead of time, and maybe a new hairdo…" I spoke to myself about the moves to make.

"Well I guess I have to get moving if I actually want to get things done."

The next day arrived quicker than expected, and unlike the day before, I woke up quite early, ready to start the day. I took my bath, got dressed, and stood in front of the mirror as I rehearsed the manner I was to speak to my future husband.

I stretched my hands, and wore the best smile as I gave a courtesy bow. "It's an honour to meet you, and also to be given the chance to door the pack house."

Just then, there was a knock on the door. "It's time to go… the guards are waiting…"

I smiled, grabbing my purse as I rushed out from my room, heading downstairs.

As soon as my eyes met with that of the guards, they bowed their heads. "Good day miss Stacy, we were asked to bring you to the pack house for your tour."

I nodded, feeling power in my veins. I followed them to the car, and they helped me with the door, before I got into the driver's seat. I guess they came as an escort because I knew how to drive.

It took a while, but I finally got to the pack house. The door of the vehicle was opened for me, and by the time I stepped out, my eyes widened. It was so big, and spacious.

"Wow.." just as I stepped out, another person approached me.

"Good day lady Stacy. It's nice to have you here on the tour of the pack. How are you feeling?"

I smiled. "Fine, thank you. Would I be meeting with Kai today?" I asked, but the man's expression made me sense something was up.

"Actually there has been a change of plan. An emergency came up, and he said to tell you how sorry he was, but Alpha Kai couldn't make it, so he asked his brother to take you on the tour."

My heart immediately sank. I knew his brother, Liam, and I had also heard rumours about him. Unlike his brother who was cheerful, and loving, we found out the reserved one with an evil aura.

Well I didn't want to think about it, so I decided to just allow things to go on.

"Alright then, take me to him."

I was taken to Liam, and I instantly came startled. His aura was something else, but I ignored it even when he gave the dark nonchalant attitude.

"The art gallery, the kitchen…. The dining room…" he kept his face neutral the whole thing.

"Wow the art room was my favourite, what's your favourite–"

"The hallway to the library."

I immediately became pissed off. When was he going to actually speak to me? For the past hour or so, I had been trying to make a conversation with him, but he didn't seem interested in having a conversation with me.

"What the hell is your problem? Do you have any idea who I am?" I asked, and he raised his brows, the nonchalant look in his eyes.

"Oh I see, you're going to keep mute right. Don't worry, I'll get married to your brother, and when I do, I'm going to make sure you go into exile!" I threatened him, and even when he didn't seem ready to banter words with me, he said something to annoy me.

"You don't even know what you're getting yourself into at this point. I just hope you can realise this soon enough."

As soon as she had that, I stomped my foot hard, glared at him, and sashayed out of there. I hated the fact that he was there.

I headed to my car, and once I got in, I drove out of there, but halfway back, my mind started to replay whatever he had said to me.

"What did he mean by that?" I pondered, forgetting I was on the road. The next time I raised my head was when I noticed what was in front of me, but it was too late.

"Boom!" The crash was loud enough, and it didn't take a second for me to lose consciousness, everything turning black.
