"I can't believe him! I will not believe him. I absolutely cannot believe him!" Aveline yelled, as she paced back and forth in her hotel room.
"Why are you so upset about this?" Meredith, who was seated on a couch, scrolling through her phone asked.
"What do you mean by that question? Why am I so upset? Maybe because he's sending me divorce papers on the day of his mother's funeral? Isn't that absolutely insane?!"
"You said you wanted to divorce him too. Shouldn't you be jumping for joy?"
"Ugh Meredith! You're taking his side."
"No, I'm not. I'm trying to be objective about this whole thing. You wanted to be done with him. He sends divorce papers. Perfect for you both!"
"But I wanted to leave him!" She cried out.
"I don't understand, Ave." She lowered her phone to really look at Aveline.
"Think of it this way. I wanted to be the one to leave him. But him sending the divorce papers makes it look like he's leaving me."
