Chapter 152 - Clarke's Dilemma

On the cave walls,

various strange paintings were sketched.

Gino's voice echoed within the cave.

"It, it has something to do with me?"

Clark rubbed his cheek, his face full of surprise.

"Look over there." Gino walked towards the center of the wall without waiting for a response.

At the very top of the wall, a series of Meteor Fire was depicted, sliding down from the sky.

Following this was a mysterious flying machine, resembling a circular flying disc.

The next image depicted the open hatch of a spaceship, with a figure larger than the others emerging from it.

Clark examined the image, stating his deduction: "Someone descended from the sky in a spaceship?"

"Not just that."

Gino pointed at a section of the mural: "This image shows that this extraterrestrial could hunt beasts with his bare hands."

Clark looked at the painting Gino was touching, which depicted the burly figure fighting a tiger with his bare hands.

"So, what kind of person can hunt a tiger with their bare hands?"

Gino raised an eyebrow, his gaze once again fixed on the central recess in the stone wall.

"Does this thing seem familiar to you?"

The prism-shaped, eight-sided cube's groove seemed designed to unlock secrets by inserting something into it.

This reminded Gino of the prism fragment Lex possessed.

"I think I've seen this fragment before?" Clark frowned. "The spaceship at my home has a groove like this."

"Maybe."

Clark felt as if a heavy stone had settled on his heart, making it hard to breathe.

"My ancestors, or rather, our ancestors," Clark said, looking up at Gino, "visited this planet!"

Clark was excited, clenching his fists and feeling his breathing quicken.

Clark started brainstorming: "So, what was their purpose for coming to Earth?"

The big boy looked at Gino, hoping the young man could give him an answer.

But Gino just shrugged, replying like a bachelor, "Don't know."

The atmosphere was silent for a moment, until a bright light shone on them from around the corner.

"Who's there?" Clark frowned, looking at the corner with a serious expression.

"Who are you?"

A woman's voice slowly sounded, and then, a pair of straight long legs walked towards them with light steps.

Her graceful figure was matched with denim sports shorts, a purple-red short-sleeved top, and the healthy wheat-colored skin of her arms proved she exercised regularly.

This was undoubtedly a very beautiful girl, with a high nose bridge and delicate features, a pair of purple-blue eyes slightly narrowed, and a slightly serious expression staring at Gino and Clark.

"What are you two doing here?"

"Uh, we're investigating the Werewolf Incident," Clark explained nervously, seemingly sensing the girl's wariness. He waved his hands, "We mean no harm."

The girl eyed Clark suspiciously, then turned her gaze back to Gino. Crossing her arms, she said, "I recognize you. The young master of the Luthor Family."

The girl lowered her arms, but relief washed over her.

Families like hers weren't monolithic; there would always be conflicts. From what she knew, Wayne Enterprises and the Luthor Family were rivals.

"So, do you know the meaning of the murals here?" Gino asked, glancing at the wolf tooth hanging from the girl's ear.

It was like how some people liked to wear gold chains. The wolf tooth proved her identity: Native American.

However, based on the girl's appearance, Gino guessed she was more likely of mixed heritage.

"I didn't expect you to find these murals."

The girl walked towards them, her gaze falling on the exquisite murals on the wall. She sighed, "These record the story of Nama."

"Nama? What's that?"

The girl looked at the strong little figure on the mural:

"In our legends, Nama descends from the sky with the fire rain."

"He has immense strength, one person's strength can equal that of ten people."

"His eyes can shoot out scorching rays that melt everything."

Listening to the girl's description, Clark looked at Gino, his expression shocked.

Just as Gino said, the murals in this cave were indeed related to his origins.

"Alright, that's the gist of the story. My grandfather knows more about the legends than I do," Kayla rubbed her shoulders, looking at Gino and Clark, "So, are you leaving here?"

"I can get you out of here."

Clark pursed his lips, looking at Gino. He wanted to hear his friend's decision.

Gino winked at Clark, signaling him to handle it.

"Alright, we'll go with you," Gino said to Kayla, extending his right hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm Gino Luthor."

"I'm Kayla," the girl said, smoothing her long hair.

"Clark Kent."

After leaving the Cave, the two of them parted ways with Kayla.

Once the girl was out of sight, Clark immediately grabbed Gino's shoulders with both hands. "Did you hear that, Gino? Super strength, and he can shoot fire from his eyes!"

"The events recorded on that stone wall are about our ancestors."

"Yes, based on the current situation, that seems to be the case."

Clark shook his friend's body, "So, what should we do?"

Gino narrowed his eyes slightly, pondering the prism fragment he'd obtained from Lex. He looked at Clark and sighed, "Perhaps there's something I need to tell you."

Patting his friend's shoulder, Gino said softly:

"I've seen the prism fragment on that stone wall."

"Ever since I saw the Green Stone, I've had people collecting stones from around the town."

"And a few months ago, someone found that prism stone in the mud pit on the east side of town."

He looked into Clark's eyes, which were filled with shock, and something else: a hint of fear.

Clark seemed to be both eager and afraid to get closer to the truth of his origins, a contradictory state of mind.

"So, so?" The young man's face was tense as he swallowed.

"If you really want to know the truth, come to the Cave to find me at midnight tonight."

The boy released Clark's arm, his tone somber. "Of course, you can also choose to give up on exploring your true identity."

"Choose to live as Clark Kent."

Gino waved to Clark, turning and walking away with a smile, leaving behind a final word: "Sometimes knowing too much can be a form of torture for yourself."

"The choice is yours, Clark."

Watching Gino's figure disappear over the hill, Clark slumped to the ground, looking dejected.

Gazing at the setting sun, Clark was filled with inner turmoil, Clark's Dilemma.

Just as Gino's words had implied.

Clark also had a vague guess.

The truth about his arrival on Earth might not be as simple as it seemed.

And the reason was simple: like Jungle Law, advanced civilizations only exploited and plundered lower civilizations. Why would an elephant reason with a monkey?

Clark looked down at the watch on his wrist.

There was still some time before dawn, and now, he should consider whether to choose to confront the truth.
