Episode 24: A New Threat
Back in Fordlethra's laboratory, something unexpected occurred.
The remaining cells of Soros suddenly spread into one of the experimental monsters, causing it to lose control and go berserk—destroying the entire laboratory in the process.
The rampaging creature then appeared to target Mialethra.
Just in time, Aizakawa arrived and quickly took Mialethra to safety.
He turned to Fordlethra and asked,
> "What's the name of that monster?"
Fordlethra replied,
> "Its name is Maharoga."
Aizakawa's eyes lit up with excitement as he said to Fordlethra and Mialethra,
> "Both of you, get back.
This is going to be fun."
---
Maharoga immediately lunged forward, but its attack was blocked by Aizakawa, splitting the building behind him in two.
Aizakawa counterattacked with a kick, and Maharoga struck back, sending both of them flying in opposite directions.
Aizakawa crashed into a movie theater.
A few seconds later, he walked out casually — holding a soda and a bucket of popcorn.
> "Well, he's not as strong as Soros…
but at least he's entertaining."
He then tossed a popcorn kernel at Maharoga and smirked,
> "Here, have some stale popcorn."
Maharoga instantly sliced the popcorn in half with a swing of its claws.
---
The monster hurled entire buildings toward Aizakawa, but he effortlessly brushed them aside and retaliated with blows powerful enough to send Maharoga crashing through skyscrapers.
They clashed at unimaginable speed — fists, kicks, and energy waves colliding until their surroundings turned into a massive crater.
Aizakawa attempted to pull Maharoga's soul out of its body, but Maharoga countered by reversing the energy and throwing Aizakawa into an evacuation center, unintentionally causing civilian casualties.
But Aizakawa didn't seem to care — he was too thrilled by the fight.
---
Maharoga possessed a terrifying ability: Adaptation.
The longer the battle lasted, the more resistant it became to Aizakawa's attacks.
At one point, Aizakawa hurled Maharoga so hard that it hit a passing airplane, causing it to explode midair.
Their fight eventually moved to the mountains, continuing for nearly an entire week — with neither showing signs of exhaustion.
At one point, Maharoga managed to sever one of Aizakawa's arms, but he instantly regenerated it.
Finally, Aizakawa impaled Maharoga through the chest and destroyed its heart, unleashing his finishing move — Sapharier Kosen — a blinding beam that obliterated the entire mountain range.
Aizakawa stood amidst the destruction, slightly exhausted but satisfied.
Sitting down, he said with a grin,
> "Good thing school's on a month-long break… I'm totally free now."
He then returned to Japan.
However, hidden within the shadows, Kagelapan appeared — silently absorbing the remaining energy from Maharoga's corpse.
