The first thing I noticed was the silence.
Not the kind that fills an empty room, but something deeper. Absolute. Like sound itself had been erased.
I stood in an endless white void. No walls. No floor. No horizon. Just an infinite nothing stretching in every direction. The air was thick, pressing against my skin, making every breath feel heavy.
Then movement.
A figure.
It stood at the edge of the emptiness, pitch black against the blinding white. Not just dark void. A shape that didn't belong, its edges shifting like a shadow cast by nothing.
I tried to move. I couldn't.
I tried to speak. My voice didn't exist.
The figure tilted its head. Then
It was right in front of me.
A rush of cold washed over me. My chest tightened. My pulse pounded in my ears.
I couldn't see its eyes, but I felt them. Watching. Peering into me, through me.
Then it whispered.
A single word.
And just like that
The whiteness shattered.
I was falling.
Light. Fire. A deafening roar as I plummeted from the heavens. The world below rushed toward me an ocean of buildings and streets, oblivious to what was coming.
And just before I hit the ground
Darkness.
