They had already finished their discussion, and he was halfway down the hallway when the thought struck him, so he hurried back.
Ryan looked up. He had been lost in thought, wrestling with asking the professor about Carl. But how could he bring it up? Randomly asking would definitely bring up questions from the professor. Questions he didn't know how to answer.
"I agreed today. Anthony said we can leave in a week."
"Wonderful." Professor Ken clapped his hands together, eyes crinkling behind his glasses. "That's quite fast. Getting funding can make or break a researcher's drive. It's good things are better now."
Ryan nodded. "There's also funding for PHD research now."
