Ryan's gaze paused on the flower pot. The bright yellow petals reminded him of when Carl had first sent him a flower pot as a gift, his initial hesitation at accepting it, and the many other plants that now filled his house, both on the balcony and in room corners.
Before, Ryan couldn't even keep a cactus alive, but now he owned a little garden. He reached out to touch one of the petals. "I'll ask Peter for information on sunflowers," he said, glancing up. "When he replies, I'll send it to you."
Anthony's smile fell a bit. "I was hoping you would take it with you."
Ryan paused. He only wanted flowers from Carl. The thought crossed his mind before he could stop it. "I'm still not that good with plants," he said gently. "It'll probably end up dying in a week. It's a shame to let such pretty flowers suffer in my hands."
