Yuta had felt drained when he woke up, as he had in the last few days. But it wasn't weakness or exertion of his body. The physician had advised some rest after Lord Elrien had summoned them over Yuta's persistent complaints of weakness.
It was something deeper.
In the last few days, Yuta knew that something was alarmingly wrong with him.
His mind.
His memories.
Not all of it, just specific ones.
The error that began on that particular black midday had only amplified.
At first, it was just his dreams.
Each time Yuta slept and saw his parents, they were always horrendous and cruel to him, but these days, he realized that he could barely recall what his parents looked like. Only the feeling of fear lingered.
Their faces blurred like smoke, and what should have been their warmth felt like rotten lies. This morning, even while awake, he would randomly hear their cruel whispers. The venom and hate in their voices.
