"Only one?" Kai's voice resounded with hope. He thought the Sarori would be difficult to find, he didn't think it would be this easy.
"Yes! I swear! Just him!"
Kai's head tilted with laughter, spreading chill in the surrounding air.
"Then, I suppose you have served your purpose,"
He gestured lazily, and the guard's armour began to tighten. The metal squeezed inward, crushing ribs and organs with wet, grinding sounds. Blood spurted from the gaps between plates as the demon was compressed into a smaller and smaller space, his screams cutting off abruptly when his core completely collapsed.
When it was over, three wisps of dark energy orbited Kai's hand like tiny planets.
The courtyard was cleared, and the air felt peaceful once again, leaving no traces of the evil that had taken place.
Kai examined his prizes with satisfaction, then tucked them away in his robes like interesting trinkets.
He began walking back toward the castle, humming softly under his breath.
