Chapter 105 - Chapter 105

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 105

Roman's opinion regarding this man was somewhat unusual, something he himself found difficult to explain. For some reason, he wanted Karlos to have a better life. He didn't hesitate to hire him for six figures just for a day. He didn't know why, but it seemed that he liked this guy. It might be because of their surname, they were both Alejandro, which subconsciously made Roman feel closer to him.

"Karlos, you said that you're already married. For such a young age of 21, I'm surprised. I thought you had a girlfriend at best," a Japanese guy said.

"I've been married for about two years, and I also have two children."

"Wow, two children in two years, you're a hard-working guy."

They laughed, and the mood relaxed.

"They are twins. They're going to be a year old this month," Karlos explained with a smile.

"Is that so? When's their birthday?"

"January 20."

"That's just about two weeks away."

"Indeed."

Roman listened, quietly processing the information. He then recalled the twins he met last time, their chubby cheeks and innocent eyes. He admitted that they were adorable.

'January 20, huh. I'll talk to Larry later.' A silent note in his mind.

"So are you going to celebrate their 1st birthday?"

In many countries, the 1st birthday was an important event for a child, often treated as a milestone.

"My wife and I are thinking of inviting a few guests, keeping it simple. We are also looking for godmothers and godfathers for the twins."

In Adobo country, the parents would find godmothers and godfathers for the child as a form of second parents, a deeply rooted tradition. If something bad happened to the parents and there was no immediate family, godmothers and godfathers sometimes took responsibility for taking care of the child. Parents usually asked people who had better financial abilities to be the godmothers and godfathers.

Karlos and Maya naturally planned to make Joseph and Penelope godparents, they were also looking for more. Actually, the more, the merrier, both in blessings and support. Because these godparents had duties to give money to the children whenever it was Children's Blessed Day, a well-known custom. Of course, this was just pleasantries, though still appreciated.

'I'm sure they are going to ask me to be a godparent of the twins, I'm rich after all.' Roman slightly smirked. Of course, he would give the twins 1 million every holiday once he became a godfather, that was his responsibility.

'At least those twins behave better than my bratty nephews.'

Two hours later, around 4 pm, they decided to end the fishing trip. Everyone was happy, as they caught a lot of fish. Although the best group was undoubtedly the Japanese from Sushi Country. The others were shocked when they saw seven containers filled with big fish stacked neatly, and every fish was already bled and handled professionally.

That night, the investors ate seafood until they grew tired of it.

"Thank you for helping me, here's the cheque. We will visit the villa on the twins' birthday," Roman said as he gave the cheque to Karlos.

"Huh? You're going to attend?"

"Of course."

The yacht left the bay harbor, leaving Karlos confused.

"Why do they want to visit us on the twins' birthday? Perhaps because Larry feels indebted to me and wants to help me?" he wondered.

On the way back, Karlos was fortunate to find a small stall that sold fruits. He bought a lot since he earned a substantial amount today. He promised the twins that he would bring them treats, and fruits were probably the best and healthiest treats he knew.

After paying 250 pesos to buy mangoes, bananas, and papayas, Karlos continued on his way to the villa.

As he walked, he recalled his experience on the yacht. He realized that the foreign guests were actually investors, and it seemed that they were interested in developing the northern part of Una Town on a large scale. On top of that, they hired the construction company that Roman's family owned to build their respective projects, solidifying partnerships.

Karlos was not surprised that Roman's family had a construction company, it fit his status. He knew the man was rich and owned several businesses.

'Although I heard that most of the projects were subcontracted, does that mean Roman's construction company hired a dozen smaller construction companies to build the buildings?'

Karlos had a bad opinion regarding subcontractors, most had issues regarding lower-quality materials and embezzling funds. Anyway, it was not Karlos' matter nor his concern.

He grinned as he earned a good amount of money today. Furthermore, fishing on a yacht was a fun and unique experience. He felt like he was not working at all, he was there to have fun while earning. Even interacting with the foreigners was enjoyable. At first, he was nervous, but he quickly adjusted when they started fishing and found common ground.

The afternoon sun was now slightly dipping down the sea horizon, painting the sky red-orange. As he reached the villa, he was surprised when he saw Maya and Mrs. Wanda at the annex. The twins were sleeping peacefully in their arms.

They stayed in the annex the whole day because the children wanted to welcome their father out of affection. However, as much as they wanted to be active, their small bodies needed rest, and the afternoon was their resting time. In fact, the afternoon was also Karlos's resting time after a morning of sailing.

"You're back," Maya greeted him with a hug and a light kiss on the lips.

"Why are the kids sleeping in the annex? It's going to get dark in a few hours, and they might get bitten by mosquitoes," Karlos said as he carefully took Arabella, who was sleeping in Maya's arms.

"They are scared that you'll never come back, so they promised to wait for you at the annex even if they got sleepy."

Maya stretched her arms, as they were numbed from carrying the little girl.

Karlos chuckled and glanced at Arabella. The little girl was drooling adorably.

"Let's take them to our room."

"Hm." Maya nodded.

Karlos and Maya thanked Mrs. Wanda and carried Iñigo and Arabella to their room, laying them down on the bed and tucking them in.

Of course, Karlos didn't forget to give the cheques to Maya, which the woman immediately inspected, particularly the amounts.

The cheque that came from Roman had an amount of 120,000 pesos.

There was also another cheque for the amount of 10,000 pesos.

"What's with the second cheque? Your bonus?"

"I caught a big fish today and sold it to a foreigner. That's what I earned."

Maya was not even surprised. When it came to fishing, Karlos was extremely capable.
