Chapter 24 - Magic Shell

If you could live in the area controlled by the Alliance and rarely go out, then it was okay to be a little naive.

But if you were going to travel, you had to be careful.

Learning to fight in the wild was also a compulsory course that elite trainers had to master.

As for how Taylor knew, this was also due to his position as the director of the Pokémon orphanage. When he participated in some Alliance training, he learned all these things from Officer Jenny.

"The Alliance protects these people too well after all. This is a good thing and a bad thing," Taylor thought, shaking his head as he recalled Lucy, who had collapsed and left early because of the bloody Dratini.

The Pokémon League protected these people too well. Trainers who had not witnessed it personally or been taught it would naively believe that everything in this world.

This was as absurd as asking a robber why he broke the law while being robbed.

If others had already went on the path of robbery, what laws would they obey? If you encountered someone with a bad temper, he might just stab you with a knife.

However, this also had its advantages. That is, most people's lives would be happier, and those who bore all of this would quietly move forward in the dark with the burden.

"Lucy has been growing up in Cerulean City. Her father is the owner of a grocery store, so Lucy has never left Cerulean City so far," Will responded.

He was mopping the floor, and some of the Dratini's blood had seeped onto the ground, which was not easy to clean without special cleaning agents.

People who frequently handled corpses knew that bloodstains couldn't simply be wiped away. There were special chemicals that could reveal traces of blood even after it had been cleaned

Therefore, professional cleaning tools were needed to achieve perfect removal.

"Hey, Will, you care so much about Lucy, right?" Taylor looked at Will with a smile. Under his gaze, Will's face turned red in an instant, like a red apple.

Taylor raised his eyebrows. It seemed that Will was really interested in Lucy. But this was normal. It was reasonable for a man to admire a girl.

What's more, Lucy was actually quite good-looking, with the look of a beautiful girl, so it was normal for Will to like her.

"Then you'd better seize the opportunity. Who knows if someone else will confess to her first? Then you'll become a loser," Taylor said with a smile. Will paused, couldn't speak.

Taylor didn't joke with Will too much and nearly left.

He also had to prepare dinner and report the news about the Dratini's trainer to the League. Taylor felt that as long as the Dratini's trainer could be found, it would be helpful in locating the criminal.

So Taylor clicked on the anonymous reporting website and sent the message out. As soon as he sent it, Taylor saw the prompt "Task Completed".

"? It can't be that this trainer is one of the criminals?" Taylor was a little confused, but since the mission was completed, it was a good thing. Taylor quickly ran to wash his hands, and then clicked on the lottery.

This was a roller-shaped lottery system. There was nothing on it now, and there was no prize list.

"It all depends on fate? I don't know if the Rare Candies I want are there. If so, that's a good thing. If not, that would be a bit troublesome," Taylor pinched his eyebrows.

However, Taylor didn't hesitate for too long and just pulled it.

He still knew that if you act decisively, the product will be shipped, while if you hesitate, it will go wrong.

The drum kept turning, and when it stopped, Taylor saw some large golden words on it, which read [Magic Shell].

"Magic Shell?" Taylor was a little surprised. Was this the magical Shell he was thinking of?

Then, there was a shell in Taylor's hand. It looked ordinary but smelled like the sea.

[Magical Shell: Can be used once a day. Each time you ask a question, there is a 1% chance of getting an answer, and the answer must be true]

"Hiss..." Taylor took a breath. Wow, the effect of this thing was quite powerful.

Although it could only be used once a day and there was only a one percent chance of getting the answer each time, as long as he could get the answer, it would definitely be very profitable.

Taylor immediately thought of the use of this thing, such as asking what the last digit of π is. This would probably break the thing.

However, Taylor gave up this bold idea. He felt that if he asked like this, he would probably not get any answer even when he was very old.

So he still needed to be practical.

"What is the method for evolving Primeape?" Taylor asked his own question. This was the question that he was most concerned about right now. Primeape's evolution was currently the most important thing in Taylor's Pokémon orphanage.

After all, once Bonk evolves successfully, he can become a normal Pokémon and no longer suffer from illness.

There was no movement from the Magic Shell, and Taylor was not disappointed. The probability of 1% a day was the same as drawing a card. He just didn't know if this thing had a guaranteed mechanism. If not, it would really be purely a matter of luck.

"Luck?" Taylor touched his chin. Speaking of luck, Taylor thought of Jirachi.

However, that kind of Pokémon was also very difficult to encounter. Taylor felt that instead of hoping to encounter Jirachi, it would be better for him to hope to get the answer from the Magic Shell.

Back in the kitchen, Taylor prepared some afternoon meals, and then waited for everyone to eat together. Then he took out a lunch box and gave it to Will, who looked confused.

"Take it and give it to Lucy. Lucy must be scared," Taylor said with a smile. Will's eyes lit up. He took it quickly, thanked Taylor seriously, and ran out in a hurry.

Taylor smiled. He was just giving Will an opportunity. As for whether Will could seize it or succeed, it all depended on Lucy's thoughts.

After dinner, the volunteers went back, and the Pokémon orphanage became quiet again.

Bonk took a rest and wanted to exercise again, but was rejected by Taylor because he had some things to deal with today.

Bonk could only drag Puffin to do basic exercises, while Kuro went to bed early.

Taylor was sitting in his office, working on some documents.

The Pokémon orphanage needs to make a work summary every month and then report it to the Alliance for filing, which was quite troublesome.

However, Taylor had gained experience in handling documents after several attempts, and could now handle them very quickly.
