The others were all watching the battle intently. The few puppet soldiers who had rushed towards Kusuo were dispatched cleanly in just a few moves. Kusuo had simply struck their pressure points, knocking them unconscious. With his previous experience, he knew that even if he severed their chakra threads, they would just be reconnected a short while later. It was better to just knock them out so they couldn't participate in the fight.
The summoned beast lunged at him again. "Don't think you can fight me with your third-rate skills. I am the Hoshikage of the Hidden Star Village." Although he had already recognized Kusuo's formidable strength, he refused to admit defeat.
This time, the beast's charge was incredibly powerful, and the force of its movement shattered nearby trees into splinters. The sound of explosions could be heard from the forest. Kusuo's expression changed instantly. "Looks like they're trying to escape."
"Don't worry, Lord Kusuo. They won't get away," Natsuhi said, gesturing to her followers. They immediately understood and blocked all the exits of the courtyard. Kusuo knew that if he could just remove the "Star," the Hoshikage's strength would be greatly diminished, and the surrounding puppet soldiers would also be neutralized. "How dare you conduct such experiments on your own villagers."
Just as he was about to make his move, several of Natsuhi's followers condensed their chakra into weapons and attacked the Hoshikage.

"You can't stop me now," Kusuo said, slashing his sword at the shield. But this time was different. He could clearly feel his own chakra being drained through the blade. He quickly pulled his sword back and retreated several steps. "I see. This thing can even absorb the chakra of others."
His words immediately alerted the others. "We've seen before that under special circumstances, the 'Star' will absorb others' chakra instead of giving it out, converting it into its own power."
Kusuo was shocked. No one would dare to fight such an opponent easily. After his chakra was absorbed, Kusuo immediately attacked from a new angle. "So the 'Star' can only absorb chakra. It seems it has no other major functions."

With her warning, Kusuo's attacks became more cautious. While he could have simply cut through with brute force, if the opponent kept using such a technique, there would be no opportunity for a close-range attack. Especially with the "Star's" enhancement, the Hoshikage now had enough chakra to last a lifetime.
Kusuo once again swung his short sword and charged. In front of everyone, his blade met the Hoshikage's body. To everyone's surprise, this time his sword passed straight through the chakra barrier. The result was not what anyone expected. The Hoshikage's barrier shattered with a loud crack, and he looked at Kusuo with an ashen face. The incredibly powerful barrier had been destroyed by a single, simple slash. And this time, no chakra had been drained from the blade.
Natsuhi and the others, who already admired Kusuo's strength, now trusted him completely. "You should retreat now!" she shouted at the Hoshikage.
At this point, there was no need for him to continue fighting. No one could have imagined that Kusuo could shatter the shield condensed from the "Star" with just one casual swing.
