Ezra's POV
This was really irritating—knowing that Vlad had teleported us to the wrong place, and that too, a cursed forest. I really hate to admit this.
But now I'm actually getting scared, even though I don't usually feel scared of ghosts anymore. It feels like someone is following us... but who? I don't know.
Even when I asked Vlad, he said he couldn't sense any presence behind us. That means only I can feel it. And I don't believe Vlad. He's just useless.
"Ezra…"
I froze in place. Someone just called me, didn't they? I turned my head around—and saw Calix standing there.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!" I screamed in fear and fell to the ground.
"Are you okay, Ezra?" Calix came closer and knelt down on one knee, offering his hand to help me up.
I swatted Calix's hand away and ignored Vlad's too. I didn't need anyone's help—I could stand up on my own. Using the ground for support, I got back on my feet.
"What are you doing here, Calix?"
