The class was as loud as always. The class nickname was 'Hopeless'. All the teachers had no hope for this class. This was the loudest class in the school and the boys who never came to school in the weekend were also there. They were the loudest ones. And they were in English period and this was the same class Akila studied in, so the teacher wasn't there. Akila was sleeping just as some other students were.
" Hey! Have you seen my pen?!"One guy asked the class. All students looked at him.
" Is there anyone who is your bag here?!" Was the reply.
The guy frowned"This shit."
At the moment other two guys and a girl run in a class quickly.
One student mouthed," PRINCIPAL." And the whole class was now arranged and quiet. They all made themselves too busy with their books. The principal entered with another young handsome guy behind him. All students stood up and greeted them and then,the principal and that guy stood in front of them. The principal looked at the students with a smile that wasn't atleast one percent genuine as he said,
" So you're quite after realizing I'm here."
The students remained quite.
The principal sighed, he was a medium sized man. Always wore simple clothes with a carefree character.
" This is your new English teacher. Respect him as you have to do. "
" Kai Scot." The teacher said calmly bowing slightly. He pushed his glasses back with her fingers. He had his hair tied in a man's bun. His handsome features made students wonder about his existance. The principal left after sometime leaving the teacher there.
Roxy was endlessly praising the man that it made Akila's ears start hurting. She then stared at Roxy with one eyebrow raised calmly hearing those praises."He is too handsome to be a human. He might be a mermaid.... mermaid man.. no-no no-no merman. Yeah. Don't you think so too?"
Akila opened the mouth to speak but Kai suddenly spoke exactly what she was going to say. "The..."
" The eyes lie,looks deceive. The heart is hidden; my eyes can't see. Wrong is disguised, I can't know." He smiled and the girls melted.
" Does anyone know the poem?" He asked.
" I wish I knew." Some girls whispered. Akila wanted to raise her hand but didn't. She didn't know why but she felt the urge to turn and see Tera's reaction towards the teacher.She turned .Tera didn't even care about the teacher. She was staring at her which made Akila quite uncomfortable. She immediately turned.
The teacher seemed to be getting well with the students. He then gave each one a picture and told them to write an essay about it as a homework as his period was already over.
As soon as the teacher went out, students started talking about him.
" That mermaid man is amazing." Roxy told Akila. " Merman." She corrected.
" Mermaid man." Roxy said. Akile rolled her eyes and sighed. At the moment another teacher entered.
During break Kai was the topic. During lunch, he also was the topic.
After lunch, students had a short break before continuing with their lessons.
The principal entered the ' hopeless ' class with his hands in the pocket, walking as lazily as he could. Students quickly stood up to greet him and the teacher also slightly bowed. The principal gave a nod as a reply.
" Akila and Tera , to my office. And make sure I don't get there before you." He said and then got out. Akila and Tera got out of the class calmly and started running to the principal's office to prevent any trouble if he gets there first and stood there waiting for him. He came, gently pushed the door open and entered. Th girls followed him in.
Alexandria, Tera's mother, an elegant, beautiful woman was sitting there. She was forty seven; but most people mistook her to be in her late twenties. She had money, and of course took extreme care on herself. It wasn't that strange she didn't age fast.
" You bullied my daughter." Alexandria told Akila calmly after they all had sat down. Akila stole a glance at Tera. Tera seemed to be at loss of words.
" No. She ..." Tera was cut off by her mother.
"Quite Tera; I'm talking to this... Akila here." She said with a small smile.
" Ma'am, I don't bully." Akila said calmly looking down.
" You really are shameless ." Alexandria stated.
* Ah, Shameless?!!Your daughter is the one who is shameless!!*
" Ma, I'm not bullied." Tera said calmly.
Alexandria gave her phone to Akila.
" Call your parents."
" Ma!"
" Eh?!"
" I said call your parents."
" I really am not a bully."
Akila took the phone and carefully examined it.
* I bet it costed a diamond to buy this phone. Whatever, it might even be a fake.*
" Why are you not calling?" Alexandria asked and Akila gave a small awkward smile and typed in her brother's number and called.
" Why the hell are you calling me?" Lance asked. Akila sniffed.
" Someone wants to talk to you." Akila said handling the phone back to Alexandria. Alexandria took it and gave it to the principal who seemed confused for a while. He suddenly understood and took it.
" This is David Davidson the principal of Emerald academy. Your kid Akila..." He glanced at her.
"YUHI." She mouthed.
The principal continued," Yuhi, she had committed a grave mistake. You have to come to school urgently or she'll be kicked out . No discussion about this matter. Be quick." David immediately hung up not giving Lance a chance to say anything. He gave the phone back to Alexandria.
It didn't take many minutes for Lance to reach at the school .
He didn't want the things to go in a hard way. So he just gently took his sister's sidento avoid conflict between him and her, and convinced Alexandria to hear out her daughter who was also stating she wasn't bullied. Things just ended smoothly after he arrived.
Lance and Akila walked home together.
" Have you called mom?" Akila asked curiously.
" I will." Lance replied calmly.
" She is probably home. She told me she will come early. Let's go together."
" Come on. I will just call her."
" She is your mother, man! Even though she never say anything, she is worried."
* This shit!* Lance thought and sighed.
" Fine. I will come." Even though he agreed, he really didn't want to go.
