_Chapter Begins_
Jane slowly put the cup of tea down and looked at William with a bleak expression.
"That's... a lot."
It indeed was a lot of information that William had just shared with his sister.
She would most definitely need some time to fully process this information, and not to mention also tying this new information with the knowledge she already had.
William had shared almost everything that had happened to him... but not all of it.
He had decided to keep some of the stuff he had seen and experienced to himself.
Of course, he had his reasons for not sharing everything with his sister.
He didn't tell Jane about his meeting with the two pillars of the universe, Adam and Evelion, for a very simple reason.
He didn't want his sister to get involved with that psycho Adam and that mysterious freak, Evelion.
It was simply too dangerous to let his sister know of these higher beings.
Who was to say that Adam or Evelion would just let William share knowledge about their existence without doing anything about it?
Just because Adam and Evelion let him live with the knowledge of their existence, doesn't mean that they will give the same treatment to his sister.
But besides his meeting with the two pillars, William had pretty much shared everything else.
The time he spent in the judgment realm and the purple orb that latched onto him.
How he got attacked by the wooden abomination, and how he managed to escape by using his new abilities.
And everything else.
William picked up his teacup and drank a generous amount from it.
He then put his cup back down and smiled.
"Well?"
Jane was broken out of her momentary daze that was caused by all the information she was trying to process in her brain.
Jane lifted her head up and raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
William chuckled and pointed a finger at her.
"I told you all the information I know, so now it's your turn to tell me everything you know."
A grimace appeared on Jane's face.
"That's a fair trade of information, I suppose...."
William raised an eyebrow.
"Then why are you looking so—"
He was quickly cut off.
"It's a fair trade assuming that you haven't lied about anything and not to mention hidden any details about the stuff that you told me."
William closed his eyes and let out a mental sigh.
"Damn... she knows me too well."
Jane was no stranger to how William operated and she knew what type of person he was.
She had seen how William had destroyed a whole company from the inside without anybody catching on.
The company... his family's company.
Despite crying on William's arms not so long ago, Jane did not forget or forgive what had happened in the past.
Now that she had calmed down from her sorry state, her bitterness towards him was starting to show its ugly head once again.
William looked at his sister with a serious expression, and she returned the favor by doing the same.
He lingered for a moment before closing his eyes and speaking in a calm tone.
"I know that I am not the most trustworthy person, but..."
William opened his eyes.
"This time I will be truthful in what I say."
Jane raised an eyebrow and suppressed a chuckle at the same time.
"You... being truthful?"
Jane put her open palm up and rested her head on it.
There was a devious smile on her face.
"Enlighten me then."
William sipped what was left in his cup of tea and then put the cup down for the final time.
"Yes, I haven't told you all the information I know... and I don't plan to tell you anytime soon."
Jane almost fell from the small wooden chair she was sitting on.
Her smile was completely gone.
"Wait... you actually told the truth for once?!"
William's cheeks turned a little pink.
"You don't have to make it such a big deal."
Jane lingered for a moment and then busted into laughter.
William just simply sat and took it with a grimace on his face.
After Jane was done letting her laughter out, she calmed herself and looked at William with contempt.
"Alright then, I'll tell you everything I know."
William's eyes widened a bit.
"Wait... but I just told you that I haven't shared everything with you."
Jane sipped the last drop of tea and smiled.
"And that's fine, whatever you're hiding I honestly don't care."
William was taken aback a little bit.
Jane shrugged.
"Besides, since you want to hide information from me, I will do the same to you."
William lingered for a moment and then sighed.
"So you won't really tell me everything you know?"
Jane just chuckled with amusement.
William placed a hand on his forehead.
"Fine... I guess that's fair."
Jane looked around at the stone room they were in.
"Where do I even start."
William shrugged.
"You don't have to tell me all the details, I just want to know the important stuff."
Jane looked at him with a strange look.
"Well then... I don't think you will be needing me."
William raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
Jane looked back at the other side of the room, where a pile of old decrepit books were stacked on top of each other on a small wooden desk.
She pointed to them.
"All the information I know came from those books, so just go read them."
William glanced at the books before looking back at Jane.
"So you don't have anything to tell me?"
Jane stood up and picked up both of the empty white cups.
"Those books don't have any information about this building we're in, so after you read the books I'll tell you everything I know about this building."
Jane walked towards the wooden door at the end of the room.
"Stay here and read these books, do not go outside this room unless I tell you to."
As Jane approached the exit, she was stopped by William's calm voice.
"And if I do?"
Jane lingered at the doorframe for a moment before answering William without looking back at him.
"It won't end well for you... I promise that much."
Then she left, closing the wooden door behind her.
William whistled and scratched his chin.
"She trying to act scary or what?"
William sat up and looked at the wooden desk in the distance.
"Better get to reading then."
And that's what he did for the whole night... or the whole day? William wasn't really sure, since the room didn't have any windows.
