_Chapter Begins_
William sprawled out his arms and legs.
A long and tired-sounding sigh left his mouth as he stretched his limbs.
"That was a lot."
He had finished all the books that his sister had left out for him.
And of course — there was indeed a ton of information in them, but something was bugging William.
These books were written in two different languages.
Some of the pages were written in English while some pages were written in some type of twisted language that resembled the symbols William had seen in the basement of the burned church.
A frown found its way onto William's face.
"How did the cult find this twisted language?"
Maybe the cult didn't find it and simply were the ones that created the language.
William crossed his arms.
"But if the cult was the one that created it, then what was it doing here in Hell?"
The only answer that came to mind was that a cultist died, got sent to Hell, and then spread this twisted language all over Hell.
This language could have been created by the cult or by some ancient civilization. Maybe it was created by a god or a pillar of the universe.
All these possibilities could be correct.
William shook his head.
"Eh, who cares about that dumb language anyway."
He was definitely a bit irritated at the fact that half of the knowledge written in these books was simply out of William's reach, due to not knowing the twisted language.
But still, even though half of the information was out of reach, the other half was free for the taking.
He learned a lot about Hell.
Starting off with its geography.
Hell was split into seven planets, each one of these planets representing one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Each planet had its own aspects and landscape; they were all very different from each other.
Each planet had a Pillar of Sin which was meant to be an overlord of that set planet.
So yeah... William was the overlord of an entire planet now apparently.
Going from living on the streets to owning an entire planet was a pretty big switch-up.
William had also learned that there was no sun that hung around the seven planets, therefore no natural light.
So... how was there light on the planets?
Well, apparently, each planet radiated its own light from within, and this light never had a time off, so technically the seven planets were always in daytime.
The light these planets produced also varied in color depending on the planet.
Purple was for the planet of Envy.
Pink was for the planet of Lust.
Brown was for the planet of Sloth.
Green was for the planet of Greed.
Bright red was for the planet of Pride.
Deep red was for the planet of Wrath.
And finally, there was Gluttony, which radiated a light that was dark in color.
That statement obviously didn't make any logical sense, since darkness was literally the absence of light.
But William wasn't going to try and explain the insane and twisted logic of Hell, because it was simply an impossible task.
If not explain it, then at least he could try to understand it and play it to his favor.
And there was one certain thing that William had learned about in one of these books that he very much wanted to understand.
The red fog...
There was no sun near the seven planets and yet the planets still never drifted apart from each other.
The fact that the planets never drifted apart or even changed their projection slightly meant only one thing...
They were orbiting something.
And as William had found out, this certain something was a massive cloud of red fog that just sat right in the middle of the seven planets and acted as an anchor for them.
The red fog was what the planets were orbiting.
"But why?"
What was this mass of red fog? Why were the seven planets of sin orbiting it?
What could be inside this red fog?
William stretched his hand outward and gave himself a good slap on the cheek.
"My curiosity is acting up again."
William had much more pressing issues than trying to figure out what was hidden inside a mass of red fog that moved freely through space.
William rubbed his face in frustration.
"Gods, when does Jane plan to retu—"
And before he could finish his sentence, the wooden door of his room flung open.
William lingered for a moment before raising an eyebrow.
"Well... you seem to be suited up for something."
Jane was standing at the side of the open door. On her right hand, she held her ghostly dagger that William was painfully familiar with.
And instead of wearing her usual black tunic, Jane was covered in plates of jagged black armor.
She looked like she was preparing for war.
Jane grabbed something from the leather bag she held in her left hand.
She then pulled out what seemed to be clothes and quickly threw them to William.
William caught the clothes and looked down to check them out.
A black robe that was fully intact.
William almost shed a tear.
He looked at his sister with an innocent look.
"Just for me?"
Jane rolled her eyes.
"We don't have time for jokes, William. Hurry and switch your clothes."
William's innocent look disappeared as he let out a sigh.
"Alright, alright..."
Jane walked outside the room and closed the door so William could do his thing.
After a few minutes, William was done.
Both Jane and William were now standing right before the corridor that led out of William's room.
William looked at the dark, creepy hallway before glancing at his sister.
"So... what's the catch?"
Jane glanced back at him — a frown appearing on her face.
"Do not open your eyes until we reach the exit of the castle."
William lingered for a moment.
So the danger inside this castle had something to do with looking at it.
William looked back at his sister and nodded.
Both Jane and William closed their eyes and started to walk into the darkness of the hallway.
Soon they disappeared into the darkness.
