Hey there,
I was hoping that you missed this crazy existence as I did.
But for sanity reasons, let's not dwell on what you did last Thursday, my hands are currently full and therapy is expensive. No offence.
Oh, there she is our Bertha! Getting back her genius brain even though it's three minutes to time. That should be enough to write a name, right?
You honestly thought, I was going back at the residence when I have a warrior out here with a pen as her armoury? Not happening.
"Okay, times up students. Make sure your names and numbers are on the paper before giving them to me" Said the assistant lecturer as he walked to collect the exam papers from the students.
But, stopped once he reached Bertha's desk, "You can keep on doing your exam"
It was a sweet and thoughtful gesture from the assistant lecturer, right? I thought so too but, there Bertha was with a wounded pride and massive regret and guilt pressing on her chest.
"Why?" Asked Bertha with a clouded face. She was madder than a bull seeing red.
So, as usual I went ahead to read on the reasons why she was making a scene when she hates people on her case.
"Miss Howell, I understand your frustration but_" Trailed off the assistant as he was interrupted by Bertha's tongue click. A very rude habit if you ask me.
"But what? You felt sorry for me?" Asked Bertha with an accusing tone.
"Of course he does! I mean look at you… You can't even answer two questions without doodling at your desk or fixing an ink stain for an hour!" Said a boy beside Bertha who was really angry.
"Max that's uncalled for" Somebody told him and that just made him more upset. He was suddenly the bad guy. Like Bertha wasn't rude to the assistant lecturer!
"So, I'm being rude and she's just speaking her mind?" Asked Max not really in the mood for their judgemental stares and double standards bullshit,
He turned to Bertha now, "Finish that fucking exam so, we can fairly compete!"
"You have won the bet, fair and square. The scholarship is yours" Said Bertha, sulking.
"It's like you are giving it to me and I want to earn it so, suck in those teeth, swallow that bitter pride of yours and accept that you are a special case so, we can compete" Said Max before swiftly walking outside the class.
Quite the drama king. I think I'm in love. But, wait don't tell Bertha I said that. He's her boyfriend.
"So, are you up for more time or we can retake the exam another day?" Offered the assistant lecturer and she didn't have any come back after that.
She just took her exam paper and went on with it.
Nothing really changed in her situation because, even when she forced herself to explain the question, her hands seemed to have lost the will.
Time was running and she was wasting someone's time. She felt like crying and hoped to have oral exams instead.
It could have actually been easier but, then again she hates people judging her to her face.
"Miss Howell? Breath" Reminded the assistant when it was clear that she was struggling.
Biting her nails, her legs tapping on the ground, sweating profusely.
He wished he could be of help but, what can he do more?
"Yes, thank you" Replied Bertha with a sigh before another energy booster flowed in her and finished the exam in seconds.
Happy as a bird.
She's one weird child, maybe that's part of her charm.
"Mr Fergusson?" Called out Bertha, tugging on her sweatshirt anxiously before Mr Fergusson hummed as a response.
"Thank you" Said Bertha sincerely before bursting out in tears leaving the poor guy in an awkward position.
He couldn't just pat her on the back or hug her without him seemed like a pedophile.
So, he just took out his handkerchief and gave it to her, "I'm glad you appreciated my time" Said Mr Fergusson before leaving her in class.
What a rollercoaster, right? Let's get back home where the feast with no name was being prepared and for me to rest my worrying old soul. My girls are together now.
So, the house was dark with flickers of Joy's candles scattered everywhere. Quite beautiful if you ask me. You just don't play with Sonia and Joy when it comes to decoration in black.
Martha was never great in crowds together with Flora so, they decided to be incharge of music.
Aisha and Yusra in refreshments. Nicole with Diana on the dining table, Treasure and Sasha dancing away.
Oh, and Vicky... Our heiress who just came back from an oversea company meeting busy standing on the doorway.
"Oh, Wow! So, Joy was able to turn everyone into witches at last" Joked Vicky and when she felt everybody's gaze on her she shouted,
"Open sesame!"
"Hungry?" Asked Gravel with a chuckle coming to hug her and take her suitcase to her room.
"Very" Replied Vicky moving to greet everyone on the way.
"Is that cake?" Asked Flora our dearest make up artist wanna be.
Let me tell you a known secret about her… She woke up from a coma, all alone at the hospital bed with all her memories gone. Shocking, right?
"Yeah, figured since I missed Martha's birthday last week. I'd throw one when I return" Replied Vicky casually.
"You didn't miss much darling" Said Martha but, Jessica chimed in "MG Vero peed on the fridge!"
"Eew" Commented Vicky going up to where MG was, with Emma in the washing department.
"Hi, MG" Greeted Vicky to the embarrassed MG. She knew what was up, "I think we need to talk"
Tensions are our favourite pause in life. But, this concludes our first Part of our story the next chapter would be about character profiles of our girls.
Stay tuned for the second part!
Yours today and always,
Mother Nature.
