c70: Wukong is Sick! The Days of Being a Grandpa
After the exhilarating battle at Bulma's party, where Goku unknowingly fought Beerus disguised as Monaka, the atmosphere finally became relaxed. Laughter replaced tension, and the banquet came to a peaceful close.
"Come again soon, Lord Beerus, Mr. Whis!" Bulma waved cheerfully, her tone still hiding a hint of exhaustion.
Everyone present smiled awkwardly. If every party risked planetary destruction or divine wrath, how could they ever relax?
"Hohoho~ See you next time," Whis replied in his usual sing-song tone. "Let's go, Lord Beerus."
Beerus gave only a nod, his calm godly demeanor fully restored—no one could tell he had just been punched around in a mascot costume.
Moments later, Whis tapped his staff. The two were enveloped in divine energy and vanished into a streak of rainbow light across the sky.
"Well, that's that," Piccolo said, walking past Goku and Vegeta with his arms folded. "Time to head back."
He flew off silently, and one by one, the rest of the group dispersed.
Luya, after exchanging farewells with Goku and the others, returned home.
After a hot bath, he flopped onto his bed and sighed in satisfaction.
"I guess… I've become one of the top fighters in the universe now," Luya muttered. "If I kept using my full power and the peak of my Saiyan talent constantly, I'd probably surpass even Goku and Vegeta soon. But where's the fun in that?"
Since the Universe 6 Tournament, Luya's power had skyrocketed. Even in base form, his combat strength had left most Z Fighters in the dust. What made him especially dangerous was mastering Flash Time, the same ability used by Universe 6's assassin Hit. Though Luya had only reached 0.1 seconds of time-skip, it was still nearly impossible for others to counter—short of someone like Super Saiyan Blue Goku.
"Next step," he murmured, "master Flash Time completely. Hit pushed it to a full second. Who knows what level he'll reach by the time the Tournament of Power arrives... I need to be ready."
And so, Luya left for an isolated island in the southern hemisphere—not the Hyperbolic Time Chamber this time, but a quiet place, surrounded by nothing but the sea breeze and open sky.
There, he focused solely on mastering energy control and time-shift precision, channeling his Supreme Saiyan Bloodline with each session. Slowly but steadily, results started to show.
However, after several days, Luya was interrupted by unexpected news: Goku had fallen ill.
That... surprised him.
"Goku? Sick? No way... unless..."
Luya paused, remembering Goku's recent usage of Kaio-Ken x10 stacked on top of Super Saiyan Blue during the Universe 6 Tournament.
"Right... it must be Delayed Ki Disorder. That reckless fool. Blue Kaio-Ken takes a toll even Goku can't ignore."
The technique, while potent, dramatically increased cellular stress and ki turbulence. Goku, being Goku, had likely ignored the signs—until his body forced him to stop.
Sighing, Luya decided to visit.

At Gohan's house, the atmosphere was surprisingly warm.
Goku, despite being bedridden for days, was now up and smiling, holding his granddaughter Pan (Xiaofang) in his arms. She giggled as he bounced her gently, happy to be with her doting grandfather.
Chi-Chi, however, stood off to the side, arms crossed and face stormy. Her jaw clenched.
"He promised to rest! Do you know what he did instead? He destroyed half the house 'training' before breakfast!"
After the incident, Chi-Chi had no choice but to move with Goku into Gohan's place temporarily.
Now, watching her husband playing with Pan like nothing had happened only made her angrier.
"You have no remorse, do you?!"
Goku smiled sheepishly, clearly unaware of the severity of his actions. Piccolo, seated calmly on the sofa beside them, actually chuckled a little—something rare.
He watched Goku interact with Pan with an amused expression, arms folded, cape flowing slightly.
"Even after nearly blowing your body apart with Kaio-Ken Blue, you're still carefree, huh…" Piccolo muttered, but his tone had warmth in it.
Goku had nearly destroyed his body by combining divine ki with a mortal amplifier, something even Whis had warned against. Still, this was the Goku they knew—obsessed with getting stronger, yet somehow still the family man… in his own weird way.
"Man... these days without training are so boring!" Goku sighed as he lifted Pan (Xiaofang) above his head with a grin.
Piccolo, standing by the wall with arms folded, replied calmly, "I don't see the problem. You Saiyans train nonstop. A little downtime won't kill you. Besides, you and Vegeta have hit a bottleneck. Breaking past it now takes more than just grinding. Maybe rest is exactly what you need."
"That may be true, but I still can't get used to doing nothing!" Goku scratched his head with a wry smile.
He knew Piccolo was right. Ever since unlocking Super Saiyan Blue and stacking it with Kaio-Ken, his body had begun showing signs of stress. Even training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber hadn't helped much lately. His power had plateaued. Unless he encountered someone overwhelming again—like Jiren, Hit, or even Beerus—his limits would be hard to break.
Chi-Chi, standing with her arms crossed and a sour expression, added coldly, "You better make sure you recover properly this time. Or else, don't be surprised if you blow up Gohan's house too."
"Eh? What are you talking about, Chi-Chi?" Goku chuckled awkwardly, glancing at the damage he'd accidentally caused earlier.
"I believe in Dad!" a familiar voice rang out.
Everyone turned to see Gohan and Videl enter through the door. Gohan carried a briefcase, while Videl held a shopping bag.
"Ah! Gohan, Videl, you're back!" Goku waved.
"Da-da! Da-da!" Pan squealed excitedly at the sight of her father.
Gohan walked over and scooped Pan up with a smile. "Yup, got off early today. Did you miss me, Pan?"
Pan giggled, hugging Gohan tightly and planting a kiss on his cheek.
Seeing the family moment, the tension in the room softened.
"Oh, right!" Chi-Chi suddenly asked, "Gohan, didn't you say that professor from Orange Star University offered you an assistantship? Why are you home so soon?"
"I turned it down," Gohan replied calmly.
"WHAT?!" Chi-Chi's voice pitched up in alarm. "Why would you do that?!"
Gohan glanced at Pan and smiled. "Videl and I talked it over. We decided we'd rather spend more time with Pan than bury ourselves in work. We've got enough to live comfortably."
"Yes," Videl added. "We're not lacking anything financially. My dad's still sponsoring my account, so it's fine."
"Hmph…" Chi-Chi's disappointment was evident. A part of her still hoped Gohan would pursue his scholarly path to success.
Piccolo, however, looked amused. "Heh. Gohan's the complete opposite of you, Goku."
Goku laughed sheepishly. "Guess so! I just wanna train and get stronger!"
"Even so, I was hoping I could get some sparring in with you, Mr. Piccolo," Gohan said with a nostalgic smile. "It's been a while since I've had real training. I'm worried I'll get rusty if something happens."
Piccolo's expression softened, and he nodded. "You don't even need to ask. I was going to offer anyway."
"Haha!" Goku and Gohan laughed in unison.
Chi-Chi, now outnumbered by Saiyans again, grumbled in frustration. "You Saiyans are all the same!"
Suddenly, they heard footsteps approaching from outside.
Piccolo's gaze shifted toward the window. "That ki… it's Luya."
"Luya?" Goku perked up. "No way!"
The group headed outside, and sure enough, Luya stood there calmly.
"Yo, Luya! What brings you here?" Goku greeted him cheerfully.
Luya stepped forward and looked Goku up and down. "I heard you were sick. You okay?"
Goku smiled but looked a little sheepish. "Ah, more or less. The real problem is I can't let my ki run wild. Otherwise, it starts tearing through my body…"
Luya nodded, analyzing Goku's aura. "Makes sense. You pushed your body too far with Kaio-Ken Blue. At first, you were stable, but in the last moments against Hit, you were already out of stamina and you forced yourself to keep going. That backlash built up into qi deviation."
Goku groaned and scratched his head. "Yeah… If I had known you would take down Hit, I wouldn't have gone so hard."
Luya: "…"
Goku laughed innocently.
Everyone sweatdropped at once.
